Monroe PD Reports: Hit and run; stolen motorcycle; stolen car left in the roadway – towed

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 11 – 17, 2108. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Meet with Officer at Wall St., complainant wanting to speak with an Officer due to part of her bathroom floor sinking. Brown was advised to contact landlord.
  • Theft, MPD Lobby, the complainant advised someone took his cell phone and debit card out of his truck, while it was parked at Pine Park Street. The report was taken.
  • Fight in the area of Baker St., an officer conducted an area check with negative contact. The correct location was Bankers Blvd. The subjects were gone when officers arrived.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., McDonalds, reference to two subjects disputing. One subject was gone when officers arrived.
  • Meet with Officer, Davis St., an officer made contact with the complainant who advised he and his brother had a dispute sometime last week. He advised his brother grabbed his phone and threw it onto the ground causing it to shatter. Robert could not provide the date or time of the incident. Report taken.
  • Extra Patrol, Court St., reference to a wanted person in the area. Negative contact.
  • Theft, Cook Place, the complainant advised she left her phone on top of her car and someone stole it. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Hwy 138, reference to a Ford Escape reckless in the area. Tag came back to a BMW. Negative contact.
  • Warrant Attempt, MPD, the subject brought in Robin Thurmond who had an active warrant through Gwinnett County SO. Robin was transported to GCSO.
  • Hit and Run, North Broad St./West Highland Ave., 2 vehicles with no injuries. V1 left the scene. Report Taken
  • Theft, Mill St., met with the complainant who left a small dirt bike on his front porch and home security cameras show a black male take the bike at 0427 hours. The suspect then placed the bike in the back of a light in color F-150 ext. cab truck and left the area. Bike placed on GCIC this date. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, Lacy St., reference to a male subject stalking the complainant. Negative contact with either party.
  • Theft, East Marable St./Maple Lane, reference to a belt stolen last night by a juvenile after a basketball game. Met with the juvenile who returned the belt without incident. No report was requested, and the belt was returned. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person, Marable St. near Gatewood Dr.(Public Indecency). A male subject was seen masturbating on the sidewalk by several callers. Officers made contact with the subject who has a history of diminished capacity. He requested to be seen by EMS for possibly smoking laced marijuana and dehydration. The family arrived on location and advised they would transport subject to Dekalb medical for a mental evaluation at subject’s request. All ok.
  • Suicide Attempt in the area of Davis St./Pine Park St., the complainant advised a male subject cut himself and was bleeding out. She stated he took off running into the woods when she told him she was calling an ambulance. Officers extensively searched the area with negative contact. Subject refused to come out of the woods with police around. Officers left the area in hopes that subject would allow complainant and others help him.
  • Harassment at MPD. The complainant advised he is being harassed by a female subject. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, Storehouse Court, reference to a white male in a Ford Excursion sitting in the cul-de-sac. Contact made with a male subject stating he was waiting for his wife to arrive with the lease for their new apartment. All okay.
  • Theft, East Marable St., complainant stated she reported her phone stolen last date. She wanted someone to tell Metro PCS that it was stolen. The complainant was advised to inform Metro herself when she goes to the store to replace her phone.
  • Area Check, West Spring St./Breedlove Dr., reference to the traffic light not functioning properly. The light was cycling but the light on Breedlove was only green for 13 seconds. Advised dispatch to contact DOT about cycle time.
  • Suspicious Person, Towler St., reference to three juvenile’s possibly smoking marijuana on complainant’s property. Subjects were gone when officers arrived and no contact in surrounding areas.
  • Harassment, South Broad St., complainant reported ex-girlfriend won’t stop calling him.  He was advised of court services.
  • Theft, Nowell St., reference to complainant claiming a female subject stole her cat. The complainant had pictures from when the cat was a kitten and to now. The complainant said she has had the cat for a couple months. Parties advised of civil options.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., reference to a female subject following a male.  Dispute over where to exchange the child and child was exchanged at Monroe Police Department.
  • WCSO Traffic Stop Assist on Norris Street at Felker Park due to multiple occupants. All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Etten Dr., reference to complainant stating an Ice cream van and a black van were speeding on Etten Drive, area check conducted, made contact with the Ice cream van parked at Reed Street. Subjects were on location and stated they were test driving the Ice cream van and stated the black van was being worked on, they were advised to slow it down when on the roadway.
  • Dispute, Chestnut Lane, reference to complainant stating a male subject made threats against her after a road rage incident. Parties gave conflicting statements. Report taken, and parties separated. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person, Monroe Fire Dept., assisted the Fire Department in removing a pair of handcuffs off a female.
  • Dispute, Glenwood Dr., complainant stated a subject threatened her in Atlanta.  She was advised she would have to make a report with the local police where it happened.
  • Dispute, East Fambrough St., reference to a mother and son disputing over who can drive the vehicle. Situation was mediated.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., McDonald’s, reference to a white truck driving reckless and cutting complainant off. No further information. No contact with the vehicle.
  • Dispute, Chestnut Lane, Return call, complainant states females began verbal altercation again. Supplemental report to original case number.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at Highland Creek Drive – Negative contact with any vehicle.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at Matthews Park – Subjects were advised the park was closed after dark.
  • Harassing Calls, South Madison Ave., reference to complainant receiving unwanted calls and texts from ex-boyfriend. Complainant lives in Gwinnett County and ex-boyfriend lives in Hall County. She was advised to speak with her local jurisdiction.
  • Citizen Assist, Pinecrest, reference to a driver taking a wrong turn on to Pinecrest in a Semi, driver was given directions to the correct destination.
  • Dispute, Green St., reference to mother and son having a verbal argument. Mother stated son had been disrespectful to her and she wanted him to leave. The situation was mediated, and parties separated.
  • Suspicious Person, Glen Iris Dr./Stowers St., two black males were seen near the new construction at the West end of Stowers Street.  They were gone prior to officer’s arrival towards Turner Street.
  • Suspicious Person, North Midland Ave., reference to female approaching the employee at the Valero on East Spring and being intoxicated, she was located outside her residence at North Midland Avenue, she was advised to go inside her residence and to be careful walking around town at this time of night alone and intoxicated.
  • Illegal Parking, Court St., complainant wanted to meet with an Officer in reference to a Blue 2002 Ford Explorer illegally parked on Court Street, blocking the Farmer’s market. Officer had negative contact with the owner x’s 2 and the vehicle was towed by Taylor’s.
  • Suspicious Subject, West Spring St., reference to a male causing a disturbance. He was given an escort to the Waffle House.
  • Stolen Vehicle, Roosevelt St., Officer made contact with the complainant who advised someone stole his car after he fell asleep last date. He was informed his vehicle was towed by Jays, due to it being left in the roadway. He then advised he knew who took the car and did not wish to file a report.
