Monroe PD Reports: Homeless man sets off sprinklers in ER for a bed in jail

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 20 – 26, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Burglary, Pine Park St., complainant advised her daughter came home this morning and found back door open and TVs missing. Front door possibly kicked in.
  • Lost item, Wall St., complainant lost his passport and needed a report.
  • Harassment report taken at South Broad St., complainant stated he keeps receiving letters in his mailbox from the neighborhood HOA.  Stated he was not aware there was an HOA in the neighborhood. I spoke with the HOA affiliate on Red Oak Court. He stated there is an HOA, they just don’t make the residents pay for it. I informed him that an HOA meeting may be needed to get everyone on the same page. All ok.
  • Suspicious person, Arnold Point, BOLO from Winder PD for Johnny Wilcox for domestic related charges. Mr. Wilcox located at Arnold Point in parking lot. Mr. Wilcox was turned over to Winder Police Department.
  • Damage to Property, Alcovy St., complainant stated someone damaged her vehicle while she was inside the Dr.’s office. A smiley face was drawn on the driver side rear door and was etched into the paint. A camera pointed in the direction of the vehicle. Dr.’s office controls the cameras, and he will return on 04/24/2018. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property, East Washington St., complainant believes someone backed into her car over night because there was no damage to her car prior. Report taken.
  • Damage to property/Domestic, N. Broad St., husband said his wife slashed his tire and Female witnessed this. Warrant to be taken on wife for criminal trespass/FV.
  • Drug Possession, North Broad St., Tevin Durham arrested for possession of marijuana
  • Warrant, South Broad St., Christopher Rowe turned himself in on a Probation Violation.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Highway 11 exit onto Highway 78 West. Elderly male turned the wrong way onto the Highway 78 on ramp. Negative contact with the vehicle. 
  • Suicide, Creekside Way, male subject found on back porch deceased.  Turned over to Criminal Investigation Division.
  • Meet with officer’s, South Broad St., subject wanted to report an incident that happened in 2007 in Snellville. Subject was referred to Snellville. Officer took a report from this subject on last date.
  • Dispute in the area of South Broad St and Walker Dr. ref to a crowd gathering in this area. Officer patrolled the area with negative contact.
  • Follow Up, Creekside Way, male subject was provided a hotel room and food by officer and FIT following the incident earlier this date.
  • Shoplifting, Hibbett Sports, manager on duty advised a tall black male wearing blue jeans and white t-shirt asked to see several pairs of shoes, when a clerk returned with the shoes he took two pairs and ran out of the store towards an unknown white passenger car and left the area towards Walmart. Report taken
  • 911 Hang Up, West Spring St., reference to a male and female disputing over car keys, subject were GOA, everything on location ok.
  • 911 Hang Up, E Spring St., reference to Brittany Moses reporting a green in color Ford Taurus parked across the street, the vehicle was occupied by Charles Rose, he was asleep in the passenger seat. Charles Rose advised he hit a curb and flattened both tires, he appeared to have been drinking but was not observed on the roadway. Contact was made with Balinda Rose, she advised she was in route from Madison to pick him up, she advised she would have the tire replaced and the vehicle removed first thing in the morning.
  • Dispute, Sweet Gum Dr., 3rd party caller advised that people where arguing at this location and had a gun. Spoke with residents and they advised they were ok and no arguing was taken place. Two teenagers and a grandmother were the only people on scene
  • Suspicious Person, Tanglewood Dr., anonymous complainant stated black male subjects were shooting firearms in her yard. Conducted area check with negative contact.
  • Traffic Stop/Suspicious Vehicle, officer was notified by FIT that a vehicle was in the area of the Valero Gas Station and North Broad Street. Vehicle passed Officers and was pulled over due to equipment violations. A female who had an ID of Stormy Phillips was driving the vehicle. Male subject was the passenger. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted due to the odor of marijuana. During the search a small cigarillo wrap with suspected marijuana was located along with multiple drug related objects consistent with the use of methamphetamine. Two clear baggies containing suspected methamphetamine were also located. The female was taken into custody and fingerprinted.  he was then transported to the Walton County Jail. It was later determined that the female used her friends ID and her actual name was Caitlyn Ahlgren. She was also charge with false name and birth and forgery.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Hwy 11County Line, reference to small red passenger car failing to maintain lane, Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputies initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle at CVS, turned over to county.
  • Dispute, Lacy St., complainant called because named subject was riding a bike back and forth in front of her house. Subject was gone on arrival.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Sorrell St., complainant stated several juveniles were taunting her small dog. Conducted area check with negative contact.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., reference to named male subject taking money out of complainant’s checking account, she stated he gave the money back. Everything on location ok.
  • Accident, Hill St., Single vehicle vs mailbox and parked vehicle. Report taken, driver Larcina Little arrested for driving while license suspended, no insurance, suspended registration.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., reference to a dispute which occurred at Amici’s a male subject left the area on a Harley motorcycle recklessly. Mr. Wilcox was observed on West Spring Street continuing to ride recklessly. He was arrested after a brief pursuit and charged with numerous traffic offenses.
  • Fire Assist, Piedmont. EMS advised that a male had damaged a sprinkler and flooded the ER. Male then ran on foot to the WalMart. The male Ricky Cobb was located at Walmart and arrested. Ricky stated that he was homeless and wanted to go to jail for the night.
  • 0110 hours (Accident) 1014 Tall Oaks Lane – Single vehicle vs. Parked car Clifford Poss arrested for DUI.
  • Prowler Report, South Madison Ave., complainant stated he heard noises from the side of his residence. Spoke with neighbors outside who stated they were outside for 15 minutes and did not observe any subjects in the area.
  • Warrant Served, Rockdale County had contact with Kalongi Vereen. Officer met Rockdale County at Black Ink. Mr. Vareen was fingerprinted and transported to Walton County Jail
  • Mental Patient, South Madison Ave., 80-year-old patient suffers from dementia. Fell last week and released from the hospital on Tuesday. Family says she’s having delusions. EMS transporting her toPiedmont Athens Regional.
  • Meet With officer on South Broad St., complainant advised he was assaulted last date at Wheelhouse Ln by a named subject.
