Monroe PD Reports: Man allegedly ‘testing safety’ of Lacy Street got jumped; wallet stolen

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 15 – 22, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Property Damage, Custom Way, made contact with complainant who stated named female subject hit her dog with a brick. attempted to make contact with named subject but was unable to, report taken.
  • Juvenile complaint, Storehouse Ct., complainant advised an unknown juvenile male suspect had shot her 12-year-old daughter with a BB gun. Officer spoke to multiple parents and juveniles and the only information that could be gathered was that the juvenile suspect’s name was “Diggy” Report was not requested but Officer documented the incident.
  • Follow Up, South Broad St., complainant advising her husband wanted to pursue charges on a named subject from a fight last Friday.  Advised I needed to speak to her husband further.  Complainant said she would have her husband meet with me this weekend to obtain further information.
  • Meet with Officer, South Broad St., reference to meeting with mother in South side. Mother was requesting officers speak to her 17-year-old son due to him speaking out of his mind and making statements that did not make sense. Officers spoke to the son and he did not wish to speak to anyone. Mother was advised of the 10-13 process. A report was declined.
  • Juvenile Complaint, South Madison Ave., Anonymous complainant stated a large group of juveniles walking down South Madison Ave and throwing items at vehicles. Conducted area check with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Activity at Allan’s Retail Cars, reference to kids on location running in the parking lot. Made contact with two juveniles who advised they were walking though the graveyard all ok. They were sent on their way. 
  • Suspicious Vehicle, North Broad S.t/Highland Ave. Honda civic failure to maintain lane. Officers were not able to catch up to the vehicle before exiting the city. Dispatch advised to notify county.
  • Discharge of Firearms, West Creek Circle, Anonymous complainant stated they head several gunshots in the area. Officer was in the area and stated the shots came from the North. Area checked with negative contact.
  • EMS Assist, Custom Way, reference to subject riding on the trunk of a moving car and falling off. No foul play suspected Subject advised all ok. Subject was transported to Clearview by his brother for a minor knee injury.
  • Missing Person, Clearview, Clearview staff stated male patient was under a mental health evaluation and under suicide watch. Male patient left the ICU and fled the hospital on foot. Male patient was entered onto GCIC as Missing by Dispatch.
  • Traffic Stop, Church St./Colquitt St., Officer observed a white passenger car fail to yield while entering the roadway nearly striking the officer.  Officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver was identified as Kenneth Price. Mr. Price had an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. Officer conducted field sobriety and determined Mr. Price was over the legal limit.  Mr. Price was taken into custody.
  • Entering Auto, Monroe PD, complainant stated his vehicle was entered while parked at Lead Foot automotive between the hours of 1200 to 1800 hours. Three rifles, one pistol, and 300 rounds of ammunition were taken from the vehicle. Report taken.
  • Fight, Harris St., complainant stated she left Jack Peters store and her wig was pulled from her head by an unknown juvenile female. Complainant was highly intoxicated and instructed to remain at her residence. Numerous subjects in the area and they advised nothing occurred
  • Meet with officer, Davis St., complainant called from the area of Davis Street wanting assistance. Officers met with complainant. She was intoxicated and needing a ride to a relative’s house. She was transported to her brother’s house on Alcovy Street.
  • Suspicious Person, Pine Park St./Knight St. Officer observed subject riding bicycle with no lights on it. Subject was identified and advised of bicycle laws.
  • Disturbing the Peace, Wheelhouse Lane, reference to multiple juveniles in the road being loud. Subjects were under supervision of adult family members. Parties advised to keep noise down.
  • Prowler, West Creek Circle, complainant advised she heard what she thought was someone on the back porch.  Officers checked the yard and had negative contact with anyone. No evidence anyone had been in the back yard. 
  • Suspicious Person 3rd St., reference to two subjects walking in the back yard of 4th St., Area checked. Negative contact.
  • EMS Assist, Green St., Upon arrival it was determined to be a domestic disturbance between Kaya Barber and another subject. Kaya was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to WCSO.
  • Follow Up, North Broad St., reference to male suspect being on location. Complainant advised it was in regard to case # given. She stated he was a B/M wearing a black long sleeve shirt, tie die blue jeans, and white ear buds. She advised he took off SB on North Broad Street. Officer conducted an area check with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Person, East Spring St., reference to a B/M charging his phone. Made contact with the complainant who was a customer on location. She stated the B/M was playing Pac Man and charging his phone, not doing laundry, and believed he had no business being on location. Complainant was advised the male was not breaking any laws and that if she had an issue with him being on location she could speak to the business owner. Complainant approached officers again and advised the same male was pulling up drains. Officers made contact with subject who stated he worked for the owners. Everything okay.
  • Follow Up, Monroe Metal Recycle, The wheels that were taken from JP’s Muscle Cars were located.  Paul Robinson sold the wheels on 2 seperate dates 02-16-18 and 02-19-18.  361 located and arrested Mr. Robinson for theft by receiving.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Hwy 11, Bold Springs Rd., reference to a Ford Fusion driving reckless. Officer had negative contact. 
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St./Wayne St., Complainant stating a Silver Honda passenger was vehicle running people off the road, driving recklessly. Negative contact with any vehicles matching the description.
  • Wanted Person in the area of North Broad, reference to a subject fitting the description of a suspect wanted in a damage to property report being seen walking on the sidewalk on North Broad Street, area check conducted with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Person, Chestnut Lane, reference to a teenager with a gun. Spoke with multiple people who said there were kids with BB guns but no issues.
  • Traffic Stop, reference to attempted traffic stop on a silver Nissan Maxima with no tag light. Vehicle did not yield to officer. Found at Magnolia Terrace and impounded. Did not locate driver.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Davis St., reference to a white Toyota Corolla (Tag# given) parked on location in which an unknown black male exited the vehicle and fled on foot towards Church Street. Driver of vehicle told complainant he was being chased by police. Officer recovered a stolen SCCY 9mm handgun during an inventory search. Towing company towed the vehicle.   • Fireworks Complaint, Atha St., reference to the complainant hearing fireworks from that location, made contact with Michael Daniel who stated no one had been shooting fireworks. While on location I aked Michael Daniel for his identification to which he advised he did not have one, he then provided his name and date of birth, I had dispatch run his information which returned with Mr. Daniel having a warrant out of Walton County. Michael Daniel was placed under arrest and transported to the Walton County Jail and turned over to the jail staff without incident. Report taken.
  • Threats Report, Maple Lane, reference to complainant stating her ex-boyfriend is sending her threats over text messages. Report taken
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Michael Circle, reference to a white van sitting out front of the residence house and appeared to be occupied.  Vehicle left prior to my arrival.
  • Dispute, Wheel House Lane, reference to two subjects arguing, one subject damaged a mirror, several walls and a tv inside the residence and was gone prior to the Officers arrival. Report taken.
  • Follow Up, Wheel House Lane, reference to Marquis Harris being back on location, officers made contact and placed Marquis Harris under arrest, he was transported to Clearview due to the injuries on his hands. Once Mr. Harris was released from Clearview he was transported to the City of Monroe Police Department to be fingerprinted, he was then transported to the Walton County Jail and turned over to the jail staff without incident.   • Dispute, Rose Ison Terrence, complainant said named subject was on location kicking furniture outside the residence. She left in a white Chevrolet Equinox prior to officer’s arrival.
  • Suspicious Person, Walton Mill, reference to a large group at Walton Mills upon police arrival members off the group took off running towards Young’s Pines area.  The rest of the group was dispersed.
  • Assault, Turner St., reference to male and female subjects disputing, female stated she was laying on the couch and named male subject tried to hit her with a brick. Named male subject was intoxicated and was not making since, he was unsure of what happened today. Female admitted to smoking marijuana today and turned over a small amount along with small grinder. Female had a scrape and a small scratch on her left arm and named male subject had a round scrape on his shoulder, it was unclear who the primary aggressor was. the incident has been documented. Female was given a citation for possession of marijuana less than 1oz and was released on copy of citation. Female left the residence to go stay with a friend for the night, she has already started the eviction process on named male subject. Report taken.
  • Fraud, South Madison Ave., complainant reported being scammed out of $5000.00 from someone claiming to be with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Fraud, North Broad St., complainant arrived at Nationwide Tax Service to find all files and computers missing.  The owner of the business is suspected in taking the files and customer’s tax returns.
  • Gun Shots in the area of Walton Mill.  Upon hear the shots its coming from the Sheriff Department who is conducting night fire training.
  • Traffic Stop, East Church St., Chestnut Cupboard, reference to Fredia Party arrested for Walton County Warrant, Exp License and Disorderly conduct.
  • Suspicious Person, Hwy 78 near Unisia in reference to a male standing in the road way negative contact with anyone.
  • Burglary, Walker Dr., reference to someone kicking in the front door. Cleared the residence and found no one inside.  Residence has been condemned by the city.
  • Noise Complaint, Deer Acres Inn, reference to the complainant in room hearing a child screaming and another child making the statement you’re going to die. Made contact with the occupants of room, inside were four children the oldest at the age of 12. He advised they were playing a video game and the youngest was screaming because he wanted the controller. Made contact with their mother over the phone she advised she had just stepped out to pick up some items for the kids from her father’s house. Everything on location ok.
  • Suspicious Person, North Broad St., Waffle House-in reference to a male with a cane walking on Hwy 11. Checked area with no contact.
  • Missing Juvenile, White Oak Dr., reference juvenile possible on location.  She was reported as a runaway from Newton County SO.  The address was not valid.
  • Discharging Firearms, Harris St./Lacy St., reference to shots heard. Checked area with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Person, South Broad St., Golden Pawn, reference to three people sitting outside.  Made contact and took them home after advising them about loitering laws. 
  • Assault, Phillips Dr., reference to complainant and a friend who said they wanted to test the danger of Lacy Street at night. Walked through, got jumped, and lost his wallet. Did not want anything done but wanted police to know the danger of Lacy Street.
  • Shots Fired, Carwood Dr., reference to a dispute between complainant Christopher Yarborough. Christopher Yarborough threatened complainant with a box cutter and complainant fired a round in the air, they started fighting after. Both had injuries and were checked by EMS on scene, Complainant was transported by EMS to Clearview, Christopher Yarborough was placed under arrest and transported to the Walton County Jail without incident warrants to be taken, report taken.
  • Traffic Stop, Highway 138/West Spring St., Donald Denney stopped for window tint violation. Denney was arrested for Disorderly Conduct for giving false name to LEO and driving on a suspended license. Denney also has active warrants out of Barrow County. 
  • Entering Auto, Plantation Dr., Contact made with complainant who stated sometime between 1800 hours last date and 0930 hours this date someone entered his truck and stole his Dell laptop. Report Taken.
  • Wanted Person, Alcovy St., State Probation. Wesley Moss arrested and transported to Walton County Jail for probation warrant.
  • Wanted Person, Alcovy St., Georgia Probation Management. Eric Watts arrested for probation violation warrant through WCSO. He was transported to the Walton County Jail without incident.
  • Traffic stop, Unisia Drive at Walmart DC, driver stopped for traffic offense. Driver was found to be in possession of marijuana. Driver was cited and released on copy of a city ordinance citation for possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St. at Quality Foods, reference to a gold SUV occupied by a white male with a strong odor of drugs. Negative contact with vehicle.
  • Forgery, West Spring St.at Allen Electric, complainant stated she received a call from her bank, Liberty First, advising a named female was attempting to cash a check from them. Complainant advised the same check was originally written to Connell Printing and was never cleared. Female subject was an ex-employee at Connell Printing. Multiple follow ups were conducted. CID was notified. Female subject could not be located. Warrants To Be Taken for Forgery in the 3rd Degree.
  • Harassment, South Broad St., reference to an unknown subject calling complainant advising he was Cpl. Brian Roland with Monroe City Magistrate Civil Investigations and that she had two outstanding warrants. She advised the phone number the subject called from was the Monroe Police Department’s number (770-267-7576). She was advised of a payoff and advised to go to her bank and withdraw funds. She advised she was told after she withdrew the funds she would be given further instructions. Complainant did not withdraw any funds and did not purchase any green dots cards. Report taken.
  • Traffic Stop, Hwy 78, Jerrod Brinson stopped for multiple traffic violations.  Mr. Brinson was found to be in possession of approximately 10 grams of cocaine and 6 ounces of marijuana.  Mr. Brinson was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.  Mr. Brinson was fingerprinted and turned over to the Walton County Jail.
  • Stolen Vehicle, North Broad St., Scoops, reference to a white Toyota Sierra van. Upon Officer arrival, complainant stated she was just advised her van was towed by towing company. Towing company advised they had the van. Everything okay.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., Quality Foods. Complainant stated someone in a White in color Dodge Van displaying TAG# was attempting to sell an entertainment center to customers. Negative contact with any vehicles matching given description.
  • Agency Assist, Tanglewood Dr., reference to DFACS attempting to make contact with female subject. DFACS advised on their arrival, a female went into the residence and was refusing to answer the door. Officer knocked on the door, but no one answered.
  • Suspicious Person in the area of Hardees, reference to a B/M causing a disturbance. Located male inside Hardees after speaking with Walgreens employee. Male was identified. Subject advised he had approached a lady at Walgreens asking if she could help him get some food since he had not eaten all day. He stated he was accused of soliciting, but stated he only wanted food. He stated the female started pointing and yelling at him. Subject advised he was able to get some food and everything was okay.
