Monroe PD Reports: Man shoots himself in foot, carjacking/kidnapping report

Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 1 – 7, 2017. Due to the length of this report, it has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute, Mill Stone Bluff, complainant advised her boyfriend returned home from hanging out with friends and had been drinking. She advised he started picking fights when he got home, and she just wanted him to leave. Both parties live in the residence and was advised that we cannot make either party leave. Situation was mediated and both parties were advised of different ways to handle their issues. Report Taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Highway 78E & New Hope Church Road. Reference to a red truck pulling a trailer with unsecure ladders. Officer made contact with vehicle matching description and all appeared ok.
  • Domestic, Ridge Rd., complainant and boyfriend disputing about each other’s infidelity.  Parties were separated. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle on Highway 78 West Bound, vehicle driving recklessly. No unit in the area that could reach them, advised WCSO
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Felicia Brooks arrested for shoplifting ($79.01).  Brooks trespassed from Walmart.
  • Suspicious Subject, G W Carver Dr., complainant advised a subject in a green Honda passenger vehicle pointed a gun at her and then turned onto G W Carver Drive. The complainant did not wish to meet. Negative contact with the Honda.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at Plaza Trace. Reference to a Monroe Utilities Truck. Turned over to Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Wanted Juvenile, Walker Dr., complainant on location advised that named juvenile, who has a juvenile warrant, was last on location yesterday. She advised that when she called to inform law enforcement he left the residence
  • Shoplifting, MLK Jr Blvd., A white male wearing blue jeans, blue jean long sleeve shirt, white Nike shoes, ball cap, and had a mustache stole a Honda pressure washer ($399.99). White male got into an older model Ford F150 and left in the direction of Michael Etchison. Tag given but returned to a Lincoln.
  • Loud Music, Green St., Officer checked the area with no contact of loud music. Complainant did not request to meet with Officer.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Davis St. Complainant advised juveniles were playing dice behind her vacant house. Officer checked around the house and saw no one on location.
  • Theft Report, Double Springs Church Road. Reference to a car tag that was removed between 0700 hours and 1500 hours this date. The tag # was placed on GCIC and a BOLO was given.
  • Wanted Subject located at East Spring St., Gerrode Griffieth on location with multiple warrants. Fingerprinted and transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Illegal Gambling, Pine Park St., Officer checked the area. Juveniles in the area riding bicycles, no signs of gambling.
  • Discharge of Firearm, Harris St., male subject accidently shot himself in the left foot. Transported to Clearview with non-life-threatening injuries to his foot.
  • Suspicious Person, 4th St., reference to a black male on a bike knocking on a door at this location.  Male was gone when officers arrived, area check was conducted with negative results.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Carver Pl., complainant wanted officer to go talk to juveniles about starting fires around the playground. I was unable to locate any burn marks or anything that looked to be burned.
  • Juvenile Complaint, W Spring St., involving three juveniles hanging around the BB Gun area.  Conducted an area check of the store and couldn’t locate any juveniles matching the description.
  • Dispute, Ridge Rd. Contact made with Residents who stated all was ok.
  • Carjacking, Pate Road and Temple Johnson Road in Snellville. Female subject reported that she was carjacked and kidnapped in Tanglewood and escaped in Snellville. Report taken, and CID notified.
  • Welfare Check, W Spring St. Contact made with driver who stated he was just tired, all ok.
  • Accident, Sorrells St., Christopher Byrd arrested for DUI and other traffic offenses.
  • Dispute, N Midland Ave., complainant was in a verbal altercation with a cousin. Situation was mediated, and parties were separated.
  • Harassment, Tanglewood Dr., complainant stating her neighbor attempted to take one of her chairs and has been harassing her. Neighbor was gone when officers arrived. Report Taken.
  • Dispute, Radford St., Complainant was disputing with the homeowner about her two dogs. the complainant got both dogs and left with another friend. Parties were separated for the night.
  • Suspicious Person, Storehouse Ct., Complainant stated she heard a crying female outside her apartment.  Conducted an area check on foot and could not locate anyone outside or any suspicious activity.
  • Officer’s Meet with complainant on Springer Lane who wanted to talk to officers about her mailbox being knocked over, she has had problems with the old tenant coming and looking through the mail. Complainant took her mailbox completely down all 10-4.
  • Dispute, Turner St., complainant advised he gave named female his debit card and she is refusing to give it back. He was advised of remedies.
  • Loud Noise, Towler St., Anonymous complainant advised a subject was outside revving a motor cycle up for 15 minutes. Officer went through and saw only one motor cycle that was taken apart and not running.
  • Dispute, Pine Cr., Martin Pass and female subject were disputing and during the dispute Martin threw a rock through the rear windshield of female’s vehicle. Martin was arrested for criminal trespass (FVA)
