Monroe PD reports: Mental health issues, suspicious people reports and entering autos

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following Crime Awareness Community Alerts for the period Jan. 11 – 17, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Entering Auto, Parkway Place, met with the complainant. She stated that she is missing several items out of her trunk of her vehicle, Report Taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Pine Circle/Pine Crest Dr., the anonymous complainant stated a blue passenger vehicle was failing to maintain lane. Unknown direction of travel after losing contact. Negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Checker’s, the anonymous complainant stated a gray Honda was failing to maintain lane and speed. Conducted area check with negative contact.
  • Mental Subject, Perry St., mother stated her adult son became upset at his Doctor earlier in the day and he needed to go to Piedmont Walton to have his medication adjusted.
  • Traffic Stop, Harris St./Ash St., reference to Deamber Johnson stopped for Failure to Maintain Ln. After a brief foot chase Ms. Johnson was arrested for (Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Driving without a Valid License).
  • Dispute, Custom Way, the male subject was locked out of the house by his roommate. Roommate stated that she changed the locks because she heard from someone that male subject beats his girlfriend. Roommate did not approve of this and did not want him in the house. She was advised of the eviction process and a Temporary Protection Order.
  • Mental Subject, 4th St., reference to complainant calling because his handicap son was getting mad because he wanted cigarettes. Officers spoke to the son. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person, Glen Iris/Edwards St., reference to male subject out walking home to West Creek Circle.
  • Suspicious Person, Sorrell St./Tyler St., while conducting an area check,an officer noticed a female in dark clothing walking around. Upon making contact with Becky Hughey she was found to have active warrants out of Newton County. She was arrested and transported to the Walton County Jail free of incident.
  • Dispute, Plaza Dr., complainant stated that he wanted the female living with him to leave.  He stated she had been stealing money from him.  The female identified herself as Brianna Calloway.  During the course of the investigation, it was determined the female provided a fake name and was actually Geshanna Walker.  Ms. Walker was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.
  • Burglary in Progress, West Vine St., complainant stated that named male subject was at the front door and trying to break in with a knife. Officers arrived on scene and conducted an area check but were unable to locate male subject. No signs of damage to the door and complainant stated she did not see him trying to break in, but she heard it. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, the officer observed a black male walking down the roadway in the area of Bojangles.  Officer made contact with the male who was identified.  Male subject stated he was walking home.  He gave consent to be searched.  Nothing was located on his person.
