Monroe PD Reports: One bitten, other run over with car during domestic dispute

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents between Oct. 19 – 25, 2018. This report has been split into five parts due to the length. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Threat report taken at MPD, the complainant stated that the GM of the Winder Taco Bell threatened to come to find her and beat her ass. Report was taken for documentation.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, North Broad St./Highland Ave., reference to a tractor-trailer traveling southbound with its flaps open. Negative Contact
  • Traffic Stop, Bryant Rd, Athens Tech, the driver stopped for no insurance.  Vehicle towed by Taylors after she could not provide proof of insurance.
  • Threat report taken at MPD, the complainant stated she filed an eviction on her roommate. She stated her roommate threatened to call DFCS on her and said she had something coming for her. The complainant was advised of the Good Behavior process.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Mayfield Dr., Vehicle left in church parking lot.  Made contact with the owner and she advised she would have her son en-route to remove it.
  • Animal Complaint, East Tall Oaks, reference to a pit bull on location and no one having contact with the resident for a couple days with an eviction notice posted and electric turned off. No one was found on location after the property manager gained access. Pitbull was turned over to Animal Control.
  • 911 Hang Up, MLK Jr Blvd., Dunkin Donuts in reference to a female on location in a green shirt and grey pants talking to herself. Officer made contact with the subject who had been off her medication for the past two weeks. She refused to go to the hospital for a mental health evaluation. She was advised not to drive due to having a suspended license.
  • Illegal Parking, West Spring St., Marathon in reference to a black truck parked in the handicap space with no placard. Officer made contact with the driver who did have a valid placard. The driver placed the placard on the rearview mirror. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person, Ridge Rd., reference to a possible wanted person on location in a Nissan.  No male subjects were inside the vehicle.
  • Mental Subject, West Spring St., Athens Grill, reference to a female on location talking to herself. Officers made contact with the subject from the previous report. She was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license after being told by an officer on the previous call not to drive. She was then taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
  • Civil Issue, Vine St., reference to complainant wanting a named male subject out of his residence. The subject left without issue.
  • Dispute, Oakwood Lane, reference to complainant moving out of the residence and wanting an Officer to stand by. All was ok.
  • Fraud, East Washington St., Synovus Bank, reference to complainant unknowingly receiving a forged check and attempting to cash it. The complainant was advised of remedies after giving away his personal information online. Report taken.
  • Juvenile Complaint, West 5th St., reference to a group of juveniles on location and the residence was vacant. Officer located juveniles on Barrett Street at 2nd Street and spoke to them about being on other people’s property.
  • Unknown, East Marable St. driver with Maddox Taxi stated an individual left scrap paper with phone numbers in his cab.  He did not have contact information for the customer.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., reference to male subject intoxicated and causing an issue with his wife. The wife was leaving when officers went on scene and male returned to ER room. Situation mediated.
  • Noise Complaint, West Marable St., reference to music coming from a vehicle. Spoke with residents who turned the music off.
  • Dispute, Ash Lane, reference to male and female subjects over a dispute about bringing alcohol into the house. Male GOA. Warrant was taken for Simple Battery.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Highland Ave. reference to a grey passenger car leaving the area of Scoops where the driver appeared to be having a manic episode. He was located and transported to the ER by EMS. The family arrived and met with the doctor at the ER.
  • Welfare Check, Great Oaks Senior Living, reference to a male subject being on the property outside of his scheduled work hours. He was sent on his way without incident. All ok
  • EMS Assist, 4th St., reference to male subject acting erratic and unable to communicate. possible withdraw from narcotics. Transported to Piedmont/Walton m EMS.
  • Person Struck by Vehicle, Baron Dr., reference to a domestic dispute between Jasmine Draine and complainant which resulted in complainant biting Draine in residence and Draine running over complainant with her vehicle. Draine arrested for Aggravated Assault and warrants to be taken for Battery against the complainant. The complainant transported to Piedmont Athens due to injuries sustained
  • Prisoner Transport, Curtis H Spence Drive, Jefferson GA – Freddie Harris was picked up and transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St., reference to a white male stating someone is after him to the staff.  The male subject on location no one after him advised him if he needs police assistance to call us at the location he needs it not hours later and miles away.
  • Suspicious Person, East Spring St., reference to a white male seen on camera attempting to open a door.  Left prior to officer arrival.
  • Suicide Threats, Towler St., the male subject stated he was cold and had nowhere go. He also stated he was going to jump out in traffic. Upon making contact with the subject it was determined he had active felony warrants. The subject was arrested and transported to WCSO. Jail staff was notified of suicide threats.
  • Warrant Served, Perry St./Green St. Artavious Turner was arrested for outstanding warrants.
  • Warrant Served, Monroe Police Department lobby. Lanavia Leath was arrested for outstanding warrants.
  • Shoplifting, Walmart, Subject was arrested for shoplifting. Transported to PD, fingerprinted, and released on citation.
  • Dispute at DFACS, Georgia Ave., a female subject was mad because she did not receive her full food stamp balance and was cursing and being disruptive. The female subject was advised of the disorderly ordnance and left without incident.
  • Wanted Person, Windsor Dr., Haley Campbell was arrested for outstanding warrants.
  • Shoplifting, Walmart, Subject was arrested for shoplifting.  Fingerprinted and released on copy.
  • Meet with Officer, West Vine St., the subject was on location wanting to retrieve property after being told to leave last date.  The home owner was not on location, she gathered her belongings and went on her way.
  • Suspicious Person, Walmart, Subjects on location panhandling. They were advised to leave the property.
  • Wanted Person, Breedlove Dr., Samantha Harkins was taken into custody in reference to outstanding warrants.
  • Fraud, Peachstate Federal Credit Union.  Fraud department requested report due to other banks having a skimmer attached to the ATM
  • Theft, Walton 24 Athletic, the complainant advised someone took his bag out of a locker that contained his clothes keys and wallet.  The bag was later located in another locker with all contents.
  • Dispute, Monroe PD, wife stated that her husband has a history of being violent.  She advised three weeks ago he assaulted her and now requests a report.
