Monroe PD Reports: Reports of gunshots, fighting, DUI, thefts and shoplifting

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 22 – March 1, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Vehicle, Hwy 78/Spring St., Vehicle traveling west in the eastbound lane. Negative Contact.
  • Dispute, Deer Acres, Sharri Hayes disputing with staff on location, while attempting to mediate Hayes became disorderly. She was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
  • Suspicious Person, Walmart, unknown black male walking around parking lot, GSP made contact with subject prior to officer arrival.
  • EMS Assist, Bojangles, complainant located male subject unresponsive outside the front door. CPR was performed by EMS upon arrival of Officers. Male subject was transported to Clearview by EMS. Det. was advised of the incident. Unsure at this time if male subject is deceased.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., advised black male with black glasses and a hoodie ran out of the front doors towards Burger King. Checked the area with negative contact.
  • Welfare Check, Tall Oaks E. Reference a white male asleep in his vehicle at the mailboxes. Contact was made with Newton Gray. He advised he fell asleep due to having a long night. Officer believed he was under the influence due to the dilation of his eyes. Field Sobriety evaluations were conducted with no signs of influence. Gray gave the Officers consent to search his vehicle, a quantity of methamphetamine was located as well as drug related objects and a sch. II drug. Gray was charged with Possession of Meth, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance.
  • Entering Auto, Towler St., Complainant reported someone entered his unlocked 1996 Nissan Altima last night and stole his wallet. A bicycle was left on location from the possible suspect.  The complaint moved the bicycle and handled vehicle prior to officer arrival. Picture was taken of the bicycle and added to the report. Report taken.  
  • Dispute, East Spring St., Subject on scene with loud music. Manager asked for the driver to turn down the music and refused.  Subject was gone prior to officer arrival. 
  • Domestic Dispute, Walton Rd., made contact with complainant who stated female subject, was trying to leave with her vehicle. Both were involved in a physical altercation. Unable to identify the primary aggressor, both received a citation for disorderly conduct, report taken. 
  • Fight area of Davis St and Harris St. Upon arrival multiple subjects fled the area. Officer did not witness any active fighting. All parties on location would not state what the altercation was over other than someone trying to fight a cousin.
  • Theft, East Spring St., employee was busy yesterday at Mr. Quicks and he gave a named male subject $200.00 to break up into change and subject did not return. Report Taken
  • Dispute, 6th St., reference to female subject having a dispute with a fellow employee, subject at Metro PCS earlier this date. Report taken.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Krista Hawkins shoplifted $143 worth of clothing. Arrested/Fingerprinted and released on copy.
  • Theft, E Highland/N Broad St., spoke with complainant who stated she filed her taxes with Nationwide tax service. She has yet to receive her refund and when she contacted her bank they told her the money was sent to a pre-paid card and the money has been used.  Complainant never received said card and the address to which the card was sent to, was not hers. Report taken.
  • Follow Up, 6th St., complainant wanted to inform officer that female subject will not stop texting her. Complainant advised of the Good Behavior Warrant process. 
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Meadow Walk Dr., complainant stated that 2 vehicles were park in the roadway and a danger to other drivers. Made contact with owners of the vehicle who removed vehicles from the road.
  • Lost/Stolen Item, West Spring St. (Cititrends), reference to complainant laying her wallet down on a table in the store and forgetting it. Item was missing upon return to the store.  Report taken. 
  • Violent Dispute, Maple St. complainant reported she was assaulted by named subject causing her to lose two teeth. Upon arrival report was taken and complainant was treated by EMS.
  • Rape, West Spring St., complainant stated she went to a named male subject residence on Stokes St. for some drinks around 0300 hours and woke up around 1500. Her clothes were removed, and she believes she was raped. Officer’s notified CID Det. that responded. Report taken
  • Juvenile Complaint, West Spring St., Juveniles parked in the parking lot hanging out.  Officers advised parties to disperse. 
  • Civil Matter, West Spring St. at the Haven Inn, reference to complainant calling because her husband took their child. They both had custody of the child. Complainant then made allegations about her husband beating her on Roscoe Davis Road. Walton County Responded and the call was turned over to them.
  • Disturbing the Peace, South Broad St./Walker Dr., reference to subject talking loudly in area.  Area checked with negative contact.
  • Dispute, Creek View Dr., Complainant called in reference to female being on location.  It was confirmed that female has residency at location.  Complainant advised, and all is okay. 
  • Dispute, N Midland Ave., couple had a disagreement about what male does in his spare time. Parties were mediated, and male left for the evening. All ok.
  • EMS Assist, Fuzions, White male collapsed and not breathing. Arrived on scene and turned over to EMS. Male subject was transported to Clearview.
  • Harassment, South broad St., complainant advised that named male subject was driving by her residence yelling at her from a vehicle.  Wanted advice on a Temporary Protection Order.
  • Discharging Firearm, Harris St./Davis St., Unknown caller stated named male subject shot at a house in the area. Officers made contact with multiple subjects who stated they did not hear anything or see anything.
  • Meet with Officer, West Vine St., complainant stated his fiancé returned his pistol to him stating it was stolen by a named male subject who shot a subject in Monroe Motor Inn. Pistol was taken into evidence, no calls of a subject with any gunshot wounds were received by dispatch. Report taken
  • Discharging Firearms, Sorrell St. Anonymous female caller stated that she heard four rapid gun shots. Caller did not wish to meet. Area checked completed negative contact.
  • Disturbing the peace, Ridge Rd., Caller advised there was loud music from a party as well as an odor from marijuana in the area.  Made contact with individuals in front of building.  They were advised of the City Ordinances.
  • Burglary, Storehouse Court., complainant arrived home from work and when she entered the apartment she realized her back door was kicked in. A mini blue HP laptop was taken as well a small jewelry box. Report taken. No serial number available at this time.
  • Prowler, Creekview Dr., complainant advised she heard someone knocking on her door. The area was checked with negative contact.
  • Prowler, Pine Circle, complainant stated she saw a female with a cape on in the yard. An area check was conducted with negative contact.
  • Prowler, Creekview Dr., complainant stated she heard knocking on her property and it was aggravating her. Negative contact with anyone in the area. Complainant has a history of mental health issues.
  • Entering Auto, East Spring St., met with father and son advised that named male subject was on location earlier this date and made the statement he was going to steal the vehicle or go through it.  Three shirts and a jacket were taken.  Report Taken.
