Monroe PD Reports: Residents express concern for neighboring pets left out in the cold

Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 17 – 24, 2017. Due to the length of this report, it has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note that an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Domestic complainant taken at South Broad St., complainant said his ex-girlfriend refused to give him his cell phone.  Ex-girlfriend said she wanted to file a report due to abuse that occurred at complainant’s residence in the county.  No acts of family violence occurred. Ex-girlfriend gave back the phone and declined a report. A Deputy was en-route when she declined.
  • Dispute, Lacy St., mother verbally disputing with her daughter.  Situation mediated. Report taken.
  • Juvenile problem, West Spring St., complainant advised there were five juveniles on location playing in the store, and was concerned about possible theft.  No evidence of any theft reported.  Officer made contact with four juveniles, one left on foot before officer’s arrival.  Names of juveniles taken, and told not to return to store.  Also spoke with parents at their homes on Reed Way.
  • Dispute, 3rd St., complainant stated his 4-year-old son told him the man across the street said he would shoot him.  Contacted neighbor on 3rd Street.  The neighbor stated the children were in his yard, and shot him with a nerf toy gun.  The neighbor stated he jokingly told them he would shot them back with said toy gun.  Juvenile stated they were playing in his yard.  The neighbor advised to choose his words more wisely, and juveniles advised to stay out of neighbor’s yard.  Situation mediated.
  • Suspicious Activity, 3rd St., complainant noticed a light on inside her vacant property. Residence was cleared, All windows and doors Secured. All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Nowell St in reference to a black passenger car parked and acting suspiciously. Conducted an area check with negative results.
  • Loud Noise Complaint, Kelton Road., resident owner was advised to keep the noise down and was also advised of the noise ordinance.
  • Suspicious Person, Wall St. Apartments. Two residents advised a black with a red, white, and blue sweater and dreads was knocking on several doors at the Apartments. Suspect gone when officers arrived. Area searched with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Person, Walmart in reference to a white male and female looking into cars.  Conducted an area check with negative results.
  • EMS Assist, Ridge Rd., Skyline Trace Apartments. Suspicious Person seen by residents activating Fire Alarm and fleeing on foot. Area search conducted with negative results.
  • Dispute, Michael Circle, sister verbally and physically disputing with brother.  Several witnesses on location, all parties gave conflicting stories. Primary Aggressor could not be identified. Brother and sister were separated. Report Taken.
  • Theft, Chestnut Cupboard. Store Employee observed two white males steal several items from the convenience store then left in a blue and gray Minivan traveling east on East Church Street. Report Taken.
  • Damage to property, Highway 78. In reference to complainant striking a branch in the road way on Unisia Drive. Report Taken.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Dr., reference to complainant calling because his girlfriend was being incoherent. Both parties were extremely intoxicated.
  • Look Out, Monroe Jersey Road.  County Deputies requested officers to keep a look out on Alcovy Road for a white in color passenger car who had just struck a fence in the vehicle and fled the scene.  The vehicle was located on Alcovy Road and the investigation was turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Dispute, West Vine St., complainant and ex-husband disputing over child custody.  Situation mediated.
  • Traffic Stop, South Madison Ave. at East Spring St., driver charged with failure to stop at stop sign and driving without license. Fingerprinted and released on copy.
  • Traffic Stop, Davis St.& Lumpkin St., driver cited for driving without tag.  Passenger, Sammy Russell, arrested for Walton County Failure Tp Appear warrant.
  • Theft Report, Bryant Road., complainant advised someone took his Next bicycle. The Next bicycle is red in color with black stripes. Officer searched for the bicycle with negative results.
  • Dispute, 6th St., male subject across the fence in another yard shouting vulgarities and threatening to fight with subjects on location. Situation was mediated, and subjects were advised to call back with any further issues.
  • Harassing Phone Calls, Fawnfield Dr., father advised his daughter was receiving harassing text messages. He was advised of remedies.
  • Road Rage, North Broad St., complainant stated a semi-truck was tailgating him, and the driver approached his vehicle at a red light asking him why he was driving slowly on Highway 138.  He stated the semi-truck continued north on Broad Street into the county.  A BOLO was given to WCSO for the semi-truck.  All ok.
  • Traffic Stop, West Spring St., Rhonda Lee was arrested for a probation violation through WCSO.
  • Suspicious Person, 3rd St., female subject wandered from her home on 4th St., the son responded to the scene and stayed with her until her care provider arrived back on scene.
  • Suspicious Person, Michael Etchison / GWA in reference to a black male laying on the side of the road. The male was gone when officers arrived.
  • Animal Complaint, Red Oak Ct., resident worried about another resident’s cats being out in the cold. Advised to contact Animal Control if they see the cats out roaming again.
  • Loud Noise Complaint, Felker St., Resident stating her neighbor was playing music too loud. Contact was made with the neighbor and music was turned down.
  • Traffic Stop, Nowell and North Broad St., Isaiah Mercado stopped for no tag and failure to use signal. He was arrested for driving without a license and turned over to his mother.
  • Entering Auto, Tall Oaks East. In reference to complainant saying she saw an unknown male enter her neighbor’s vehicle then attempt to enter hers. Complainant stated the unknown male fled on foot towards Tall Oaks West. Area check was done with Negative Results. Report Taken.
  • Dog Complaint in the area of Walton Mills made contact at Store House Court warned the homeowner for leaving his dogs outside in the 40-degree weather.
