Monroe PD Reports: Retaliation damages, shoplifting incidents and domestic disputes

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 18 – 24, 2018. Due to the length, this has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Illegal Burn, Reed Way, reference to a possible structure fire, Officers located male subject burning tires on location.  Fire was put out by Monroe Fire.
  • Illegal Parking, GW Carver, white1997 Honda Accord towed for illegally parked and blocking in residents. Was unable to make contact with the owner. Owner finally arrived as towing company arrived to move the vehicle.
  • Burglary Report, East Fambrough St., reference to complainant coming home and hearing a noise inside the residence. She found a broken piece of a gingerbread house in the floor of her daughter’s bedroom. Residence checked with no signs of forced entry and nothing missing from the residence. Everything on location ok.
  • Theft Report, West Spring St., Huddle House, reference to complainant’s cell phone was stolen from this location on 5/5/2018 by a named subject who is answering the phone but refusing to return the phone.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Wheeler St., reference to juveniles riding bikes through yard. Area check conducted with negative contact.
  • 911 Hang up, Baker St., reference to the caller hanging up with static on call back. Made contact with female resident, she advised this happens often and stated everything on location was ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Custom Way, reference to passenger car on location for over an hour. Vehicle was parked correctly, and it belonged to the person that lives on Custom Way.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Hwy 138/West Spring St., Tractor Trailer driving reckless.  Did not observe any reckless driving stopped the truck due to trailer lights not working. He fixed the issues and was sent on his way.
  • Loud Music, Oak Ridge Dr., reference to the neighbors at Oak Ridge playing loud music, made contact with neighbor he turned the music off. Everything on location ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Stone Creek Dr., reference to complainant hearing a motorcycle close to her house, area check conducted with negative contact. Everything on location ok.
  • Demented Person, East Marable St., reference to complainant locked out of her home. Met with complainant who arrived at the home of someone else around 0600 hours this date. Complainant advised she had severe stomach pain and was hurting all over. She requested to be transported by EMS for treatment. Other home owner requested report be made. All ok
  • Juvenile Complaint, Lopez Lane, Juvenile not wanting to go to school. Juvenile was ok upon arrival.
  • Enter Auto, Fairway Dr., complainant said he believes his vehicle was entered Monday evening between 2130 and 2200 hours due to his dog barking.  Complainant also said he noticed his glove box opened on Tuesday and was not sure whether to report but thought we should be notified. Dispatch advised the county worked numerous entering autos off Monroe Jersey Road. Checked the area for other entering autos.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Hwy. 78 West, two cars driving reckless. Patrolled the area with negative contact. All Okay
  • Demented Person, Piedmont/Walton ER., reference to a male subject brought in for an evaluation who now wants to leave. Explained the doctor had signed the order and he now had to be evaluated.  All ok
  • Dispute, E. Church St., reference to male subject coming onto the property and causing damage to the pool. Complainant states she believes it was named male subject due to a dispute they had a few nights ago. Male subject gone when officers arrived. Report Taken
  • Domestic, Windsor Dr., reference to a male and female yelling outside. When officers arrived, all appeared ok and parties had left the location.
  • Juvenile located, South Broad St., Southside Mobile Home Park, reference to a found juvenile. Juvenile was able to exit the home through an unlocked door. Father was located, and the child returned.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Walmart, reference to Elizabeth Whigham shoplifting $96.99 in misc. grocery items. Citation issued
  • Suspicious Person, Martin Luther King Jr Blvd., Subject working on the machine. All ok.
  • Juvenile problem, E. Church St., mother advised that her daughter was assaulted while on the school bus. I was informed that the juvenile was struck in the left jaw area and then in the right forehead area. EMS was dispatched for possible fractured jaw. Mother advised she would take daughter to Athens. Unknown female and a named female said to have struck the victim. Juvenile goes to Carver Middle School. Met with SRO from Carver about situation and was advised due to the incident occurring in the city it would be handled by SRO.
  • Harassment, South Madison Ave., complainant said his ex-girlfriend who he’s allowed access to his email and social media has been posting comments that are damaging to his character. Advised of Temporary Protection Order process. Report taken.
  • Hit and Run, Walmart, two vehicles, no injuries. Tan truck fled scene after striking the complainant’s vehicle. Driver was located on Old Hwy 138 after colliding with a concrete barricade. Driver was cited for hit and run and the secondary accident was turned over to GSP for further investigation.
  • Dispute, Pine park St., complainant advised she was in a verbal dispute with named subject over family matter. Both parties advised to stay away from each other.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., unknown white male took unknown number of items from Goodies and left the scene in a green or possibly black 4-door passenger car. Conducted an extensive area check with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Dollar General, South Broad St., staff was closing the store and noticed to vehicles parked on the side of the building running. Made contact driver advised she was dropping her friend off so that he could pick up his car. The both then left all ok.
  • Suspicious person, Norris St., complainant advised he saw two black males remove something from a neighbor’s porch and walk down the road. Made contact with male and female subjects who advised they were leaving a friend’s house all ok.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Dr., verbal dispute between two subjects over a civil issue.  The eviction process was explained to one subject. No crime committed. Report Taken
  • Meet with subjects, S. Madison Ave., Subjects advised that a neighbor had barricaded the driveway next door that is said to be city property.  Will make contact with officer.
  • Entering Auto, South Broad St., reference to a gun stolen from a KIA SUV parked on West Highland Ave. between Sunday and Wednesday. Report Taken and entered into GCIC
  • Suspicious Person, Ford St., reference to a male looking around the property, patrol of the area was completed, negative contact with anyone.
  • Suspicious person, South Madison Ave., caller said he was seeing guys with ski masks on with guns in the bushes and trees. Caller said he suffers from psychosis and has not been taking his medication. Caller transported to Piedmont Walton.
  • Damage to Property, South Broad St, complainant reporting that 3 out of 4 tires had nails in them, he believes it is retaliation due to his wife testifying in a DFCAS case a couple of weeks ago.
  • Found Property, Creekview Dr., bag with jumper cables found in the yard. Complainant advised they would hang onto them and check with the neighbors to see if they are missing some,
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Shawna Iler arrested for shoplifting ($410.56).
  • Domestic Dispute, Ash Ln., married couple disputing over husband accidentally running over wife’s foot with his wheel chair. Situation mediated.
  • Burglary, Green St., complainant returned home and found 2-TVs, 2-Playstation 4, Laptop, and an Iphone 7 was missing. Property value taken total approximately $3600
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., reference to complainant calling because a group of females stolen Items from his store today around 1430 Hours. The females were seen on camera stealing 3 packs of hair and a flat iron. Report taken
  • Dispute, Pierce St., mother who requested a report after her daughter punched a hole in the wall.
  • 911 hang up, New Lacy St., Anonymous caller made a complaint that several people were in the back yard. Upon arrival I had negative contact. Everything appeared ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Area of Overlook Crest and Michael Circle. Checked the area everything appeared ok.
  • Unknown Law, Wheel House Lane, complainant requested a ride to Deer Acre Inn since his mother turned off the Wi-Fi. All ok.
  • Traffic Stop, East Church St./Pine Park, Officer observed a passenger car without a working tag light. Officer made contact with driver who was identified as Fredrick Ridgeway. Mr. Ridgeway had an active warrant for criminal trespass.  Mr. Ridgeway was taken into custody and transported to Walton County Jail without incident.
  • Dispute, Hwy 78, Walton Truck Stop, reference to a Truck Driver not wanting to pay to park. upon arrival Staff advised that the driver of the truck was ok and paid for the parking stop.
  • Discharging Firearms, Carver Place, reference to the complainant hearing one gun shot in the street. Officers checked the area with negative contact with any evidence. The caller did not want to meet.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Harris St./Ash St., noticed a vehicle parked in the church parking lot with two people inside. Made contact with Quintravious Blackwell and female subject. Quintravious has an active warrant out of Walton county for probation violation. Has was placed under arrest and transported to jail free of incident.
  • Suspicious Person, Pine Circle, female complainant stated two black males wearing all black fled the area after she confronted them. Conducted an extensive area check for the subjects and entered vehicles with negative contact for both
