Monroe PD Reports: Several burglaries and attempted burglaries at Tall Oaks

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 16 – 22, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Wanted Person South Madison Ave., reference to Lacey Jackson on location with a valid warrant for her arrest.  Mrs. Jackson was arrested and turned over to Walton County Jail without incident.
  • Theft, West Spring St., IHOP, reference to ex-employee stealing a customer’s phone after she walked out. Ex-employee was observed on camera stealing the phone and was contacted and later confessed. Phone was recovered, and customer decided not to press charges.
  • Dispute Harris Drive – call canceled due to not being in the City. 
  • Agency Assist Mountain View Drive in reference to seeing if a tan Chevrolet Silverado was on location for Loganville PD. Negative contact.
  • Suspicious Person Hwy 11/Charlotte Rowell in reference to a male with a gold chain and a cane waking in the wrong direction to Conyers. Negative contact.
  • Traffic Stop Highway 78 at Hanger Clinic – A male stopped for multiple traffic violations.  The owner and rear seat passenger of the vehicle, Kimberly Mullins, was arrested after it was discovered she had a felony warrant for her arrest out of Barrow County for probation violation.  Mrs. Mullins was arrested and taken to the Barrow County line where she was turned over to Barrow County Deputies. 
  • Welfare Check, West Spring Street at Oriental Garden, regards to lights on in the business but no one on location. Made contact with employees on location whom advised they were closed. They stated the business would reopen at 1600 hours. Everything okay.
  • Suspicious Persons at East Church Street. Contact made with complainant stating a suspicious gray jeep pulled into the driveway of her friend’s residence and two white females came from the back of the residence and walked behind the neighboring residence at East Church Street then down Pine Park Street. Both residences were checked, and all doors and windows appeared secured with no signs of forced entry.
  • Dispute Towler St., reference to complainant who was gone when officers arrived, wanting Rebecca Donald to leave his residence. Officer made contact with Rebecca as she was leaving complainants residence. Rebecca was found to have an outstanding warrant through WCSO for burglary. She was arrested and turned over to the Walton County Jail.
  • Theft Report, Knight Street – Complainant advised someone took her son’s red and black in color BMX bicycle from the front yard of the residence this date.  Complainant was able to provide the serial number to the bicycle.  Bicycle placed on GCIC. 
  • Fire Assist Plaza Trace at Country Grove Apartments in reference to a wood fire. Fire was located in the woods between Country Grove and Arnold Point apartments. Officers spoke to persons on scene. No one saw who started the fire. Turned over to Monroe Fire Department
  • Juvenile Complaint, West Creek Cir. in reference to complainant stating a male was fighting with her grandkids. Made contact with a female who advised she would keep the male away from the other kids. Everything on location ok.
  • Juvenile Complaint Park Lake Court – Four wheelers on the roadway.  Negative contact.
  • Dispute at Lacy St., reference to complainant wanting her cousin to stay away from her home. Cousin was gone when officers arrived. While on scene another male stated he had been threatened by a male subject. Complainant stated he just wanted to advise the police and refused a report.
  • Dispute at Magnolia Terrace, reference to neighbor’s disputing over kids playing basketball in the street and vehicle parking, situation mediated. Report taken.
  • Hit and Run at South Madison Ave – Quick Pick Food Mart in reference to a two vehicle crash, an older gold in color vehicle of unknown make and model struck a black Chevy Impala while leaving the parking lot. The Gold in color vehicle was gone when officers arrived. Report taken 
  • Follow Up at WCSO in reference a pullover in which subject ran. Attempting to identify.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at Papa Johns, reference to a group of people hanging out in the area.  All parties sent on their way and told not to hang out in the parking lot.
  • Damage to Property at 4th street in reference to a coffee mug thrown into the window of complainant. Unable to identify who threw it at this time.
  • Possession of Marijuana, East Marable Street – Matthews Park – Two females were charged with possession of marijuana and no insurance.
  • Disturbing the Peace Walker drive in reference to loud music and construction. Checked area with negative contact.
  • Dispute, Claywill Circle in reference to mother arguing with her son over property inside the residence, Son wanted to retrieve his belongings and go to his father’s residence. Son was able to retrieve his items without incident and was given a ride to Camptown Gardens. The situation was mediated everything on location ok.
  • Domestic N Midland Ave – Myron Howard suffered a severe knife wound during a dispute with Kayla Hooks.  Myron Howard will have warrants for Violation of Conditions of Bond.  Kayla Hooks was arrested for Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Battery.
  • Assault, West Spring Street – Clearview female on location with a visible injury to her lip.  She would not tell me where it happened or who did it to her.  She did not want police involved. 
  • EMS Assist/Dispute at Nowell Street in reference to mother disputing with her son. Mother stated she had been assaulted by her son and he was gone when officers arrived. Mother was transported to Clearview by EMS, Report taken.
  • Wanted Person Athens Regional Hospital in reference to transporting Myron Howard back to Walton County Jail on warrants.
  • Welfare check at Kings Ridge. Complainant requested a Welfare check on her parents. She stated that she has not heard from them since Saturday. Made contact with said parents and they advised their phones where down.
  • Domestic, South Madison Avenue: Female was trying to get a temporary protection order on her boyfriend due to him assaulting her last night and busting her lip. Warrant to be taken on boyfriend for Battery-FV. 
  • Juvenile Complaint Baron Drive: Juvenile had Female issues but was getting ready for school.  All ok.
  • 911 hang up Four Seasons car wash on Hwy 138, reference to a dispute.  Dispute over refund.  Parties separated.  All ok.
  • Meet With officer East Spring Street: Subject battling depression.  Transported to Clearview.
  • Warrant Served, Alcovy St. Leona Morgan on location with an active Probation warrant. Taken into custody and transported to WCSO.
  • Warrant Service City Barn: A male subject works part time and not on location today.
  • Suspicious Person Hammond Park: Subject was asleep on the female bathroom floor.  Advised he could not sleep there.  Taken to Jack Peters.
  • Suspicious Person Walmart.  Reference to subjects asking for money.  Negative contact with anyone matching the description.
  • Warrant, South Madison Avenue: Gary Lee Flint arrested for Probation Violation
  • Meet with at FISH. Spoke with a female who requested a ride. She was given a ride to Haven Inn.
  • Dispute Douglas St. Spoke with complainant who stated a group of teenagers where taking photos of his daughter. He requested a report and was advised to recontact if he has any further problems
  • Suspicious Vehicle at First Presbyterian of Monroe. Upon my arrival I advised a male subject that if he had no business on location he needed to leave. Subject left without incident.
  • Theft Millstone Bluff, Complainant advised her dogs were outside at approximately 1400 hours.  When her children arrived home at approximately 1445 hours the dogs were not on location.  She asked for a report to be made. 
  • EMS Assist Davis St., Reference female unconscious, breathing, not alert. EMS advised officers to cancel prior to arrival.
  •  Suspicious Person CVS complainant stated an unknown male subject has been following her for approximately 20 minutes. Contact made with unknown male who advised he had no idea who complainant was and denied following her. Complainant left the area while Officers remained with unknown male.
  • Animal Complaint at Lanius Ave. Complainant reported that her dog was attacked by a white pit bull. Animal Control took possession of the puppy due to the major injuries the dog suffered. Other vicious dog was gone when area check completed.
  • Theft Report Heritage Park complainant stated his son’s shoes were taken by another juvenile. Contact made with a male who stated he took the shoes because he had promised them by an unknown subject. Shoes were returned to complainant. Report declined.
  • Suspicious Vehicle Unisia Drive/Hwy 78 Silver VW passenger car tailgating vehicles. Failure to maintain lane.  Officer patrolled the area with negative contact.
  • Civil Matter East Marable in reference to complainant calling because his ex-wife was on location attempting to take their son. Ex-wife was able to provide a court custody order stating she had primary custody. Son was turned over to mother. Report taken
  • Loud Music Etten Dr and Reed St. in reference to white impala playing loud music. Upon arrival the vehicle was no longer playing music. Checked the area with no other loud noise observed. The caller did not wish to meet.
  • Suspicious Person on Tuner Street in reference a males skateboarding. The anonymous caller was concerned for their safety in the storm. Conducted area check with negative contact.
  • Burglary, Tall Oaks West, complainant located a side window completely removed from the residence.  Complainant gave us entry to clear.  Located in a back room the point of entry through another window.  Also located shoe prints in the mud outside the residence that matched the shoe print on the back door. Tenant left for work at approximately 0430 hours.  
  • Criminal Trespass, Tall Oaks, reference to a rock thrown through the back window.  No entry made into the residence.  No visible shoe prints found around the residence.  Report taken.
  • Burglary, Tall Oaks West, Broken side window. Same shoe print from other call at Tall Oaks. Attempted to dust for fingerprints but no fingerprints on located.  
  • Illegal Drugs, 4th St., complainant stated she smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the attic. She asked if officer could make sure no one inside attic before she put a lock on it. No person was in attic smoking marijuana.
  • Warrant, Cherry Hill Rd., Jossmen Howard arrested for Battery-FV. Supp added to report.
  • Burglary, Tall Oaks East, complainant said at approx 0500 someone tried to come in through her bedroom window.  She shut the window prior and the subject fled.  A 40 cal round was located outside the window and residence at this apartment said they do not own any guns.  The round was collected for evidence.
