Monroe PD Reports: Stolen vehicle recovered and one suspect arrested after foot chase

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 6 – 12, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute, N. Broad St.  Female called advising that her brother stabbed her in room.  Made contact with subjects in room # given and no one had been stabbed.  Subjects were asleep when we made contact.  No blood found anywhere.  Front desk unaware of any problems.
  • Suspicious Person, Holly Hill/Pinecrest, Black male wearing white shirt and black pants sweating profusely.  Subject dipped out on officer near the area of location on Pinecrest. Checked the area from Breedlove, McDaniel, Pine Circle and Holly Hill with negative contact. 
  • Runaway, Alcovy St., juvenile was taken to Juvenile Probation for drug test by his father. The father had received information where juvenile had posted he was using marijuana and cocaine.  Once on scene, juvenile ran away from the area. Juvenile complaint to be completed.
  • Dispute, East Church St., complainant stated she and her husband were in a verbal dispute.  She stated he left with a friend in a black Ford Crown Victoria and had the key to their vehicle with him. The vehicle is a push button start, and she was worried she would not be able to start it again after shutting the vehicle off. Complainant went to her residence at 508 Landers Street and retrieved her spare key. Report taken. 
  • Phone Scam, Cherokee Ave., complainant stated a subject keeps calling him stating he is from the IRS.  Subject states if complainant does not respond, the local police would arrest him.  Report Taken. 
  • Burglary, Wheel House Lane, complainant stated she left at 0600 hours this date, and someone entered her residence by throwing a rock through a downstairs side window.  Residence was cleared, and nothing reported missing.  Dusted for fingerprints with no legible prints recovered.  Report taken. 
  • Juvenile Complaint, Cherokee Ave, complainant advised four juveniles on bicycles (one bike being orange) threw a basketball at his house and yelled profanity at him when he confronted them. Was advised the juveniles are believed to live off Colquitt Street where a white van parks in the driveway. Checked the area and negative contact on the van or juveniles.
  • EMS Assist, Breedlove Dr., male subject found unresponsive. Transported to Piedmont Walton. CID Notified
  • Shoplifting, W. Spring St., employee advised a black male subject wearing a white shirt left the store with a white Nike shirt and Nike Shoes. Employee said the subject left his old shoes in the box.  Report taken.
  • Harassment, Lauinus Ave., complainant is concerned about her sister who is allegedly getting threats from three subjects – a subject who was arrest for narcotics.  The sister was not on location to speak with about the incident.
  • Suspicious Person, Mt. View, Reference to the meat man going door to door selling meat.  All OK.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Vine St., a black S10 truck was parked outside of the gate to West Vine Street. Conducted area check of the building, located more open doors and possible evidence of further metal theft.
  • Dispute, N Broad St (Chevron), Called advised a drunk male was inside the store, and being loud. Upon arrival male was already gone.
  • Loud Music, Tanglewood D., anonymous complainant stated a female was walking around with a speaker playing music loudly. Conducted area check with negative contact.
  • Meet with Officer, Master’s Dr., cancelled per complainant prior to arrival, stating neighbor’s children were knocking on her windows. Conducted area check with negative contact with any juveniles.
  • Harassing Communications, North Broad St., spoke with complainant who stated that an ex coworker is harassing her on Facebook. Repot taken
  • Disturbing the peace, Norris St., anonymous complainant stated there was a large party across the street. Negative contact with any party.
  • Drug Activity in the area of King St. Caller advised a white passage car was in the area selling drugs. Conducted an area check and was unable to locate.
  • Traffic Stop, Officer observed a vehicle with a brake light not working. Driver was driving the vehicle while license suspended. He was transported to Monroe PD and fingerprinted.  Released on copy of citations.
  • Burglary, Tanglewood Dr., reference to complainant coming home to find her window busted out and her furniture moved around but nothing missing. Report taken
  • Disturbing the peace, Norris St., Party advised to keep the noise down.  All ok.
  • Suspicious Persons, Murphy’s Gas Station, female clerk advised two unknown white males began asking her what she would do if they took her cash register, they continued to state they just got out of jail and were going to take her money before leaving towards HWY 138. The vehicle was an older blue passenger car with a white female driver. Unknown license plate, unknown direction of travel.
  • Traffic Stop, North Madison/East Spring St., Mr. Franklin Ellison was stopped for failure to maintain lane and was arrested for driving under the influence driving while license suspended.
  • Emergency Message, Turner St., complainant’s sister needed her to be en route to her son’s residence.  The caller wouldn’t give any further information.  Message was delivered
  • Warrant Pick Up, Newton County Jail. Jeannette Little on location with active FTA warrant through Monroe PD. Jeannette was transported to MPD for fingerprinting then released to the Walton County Jail. All ok.
  • Agency Assist, Units assisted Walton County Sheriff;s Office with a perimeter in the area of North Broad St and GW Carver due to a foot chase after stopping a stolen vehicle.  One subject from the vehicle located, Sedric Wynn, was arrested and handed over to WCSO.
