Monroe PD Reports: Suicide attempts, domestic disputes and 9-year-old sent to bed,

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between April 14 – 20, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note, a charge or arrest does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute, South Broad St. Personal care home nurse advised 73-year-old female resident cussed her out, situation mediated.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Highway 78, Walton Truck Stop. Anonymous comp advised of tan Camry failing to maintain lane. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Agency assist, West Vine St., Conestoga MHP, Walton County Sheriff’s Office requested to see if a white Lincoln was on location. Contact made and the vehicle was turned over to the owner.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle, West Spring St. and Taco Bell. Devis Blount arrested for driving without license and headlight requirements. Released after fingerprinted.
  • Fight call, Magnolia Terr. Area checked with negative contact of fight. Comp advised subjects leaving in grey car with no tail lights. Officer stopped grey car with no tail lights. Elderly female driver, unrelated.
  • Domestic problem, Spruce Ln., complainant stated named male subject came to the residence in violation of a no contact order while on 38D drugs. No order was able to be verified, male subject was gone when officers arrive.
  • Animal complaint, Walker Dr. Dog taken inside, all ok.
  • Civil issue, Wall St., complainant wanted MPD to be aware that his girlfriend stays out all hours of the night.
  • Suspicious person, Green St., complainant on location making false claims that her flower pot fell. Pot still upright on officer arrival. Complainant advised to go back to bed.
  •  Domestic problem, Hill St., complainant was disputing with female subject.  Parties were separated.  All ok.
  • Sexual Assault, Alcovy St.  Reference to DFACS wanting to speak with a juvenile female who made statements that she was sexual assaulted in Miller County.
  • Dispute, Country Hearth Inn.  Complainant stated his cell phone was taken by a male subject.  Upon officers arrival it was discovered that his girlfriend had the phone.  All ok.
  • Suicide attempt, Norris St., complainant advised her boyfriend tried to hang himself and when she called 911 he left the residence on foot.  Area checked with negative contact.
  • Fraud report, S. Broad St., complainant advised he sold his Mac computer on Craigslist.  Advised he met a B/M at this location on 4/17/17 at approximately 2330 hrs and was provided 4 $100 bills that were counterfeit.  Money was placed into evidence.
  • Dispute, Custom Way, complainant advised her cousin’s girlfriend was disputing with her over feeding a baby.  Subject was GOA.  All ok.
  • Suspicious vehicle in the area of Michael Etchison and Hwy 138.  Black truck driving slowly and unable to maintain lane.  Negative contact.
  • Chase with Robert Williams on a motorcycle for High Speed on wrong side of road and almost caused a accident on W. Spring St.  Subject wrecked at Spring and Broad.  Williams was arrested.  Bike towed by towing company.
  • Loitering, Golden Pantry, female subject was given a escort to Walmart and advised not to be loitering at that location.
  • Officer’s called to meet w/subject @ Baron Dr/Classic Trl.  Reference to locating a missing phone.  Went to Custom Way and had negative contact with the phone.
  • Agency Assist, Kings Ridge.  DFACS requested a report in reference to a 9-year-old juvenile being left home alone.  Juvenile was put in care of the neighbor till grandmother returned home.
  • Dispute, Lobby of Sheriff’s Office; complainant stated that someone messaged her husband on Facebook alleging that someone was cheating, there were no threats advised her to tell this person to stop sending messages.
  • Suicide Attempt, S. Broad St., male subject took too much of his anxiety medication, denied wanting to harm himself, turned over to EMS.
  • Suspicious person, Persons, Lacy Street; Complainant advised a group of black males selling 38-D, negative contact.
  • Agency Assist, Hubbard St., Newton County wanted to see if a male subject was on location to clear him off missing, subject was on location advised Newton Co.
  • Medical call, S. Broad Street; 77 year old having medical issues and Suicidal thoughts, turned over to EMS, subject transported.
  • Intoxicated person, Monroe Motor Inn Rm., male subject on location intoxicated and ranting, advised to go into his room for the evening.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Victory Dr., 17 year old belligerent granddaughter wanting to leave with boyfriend, situation mediated.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Plaza Dr., 9-year-old took a TV remote from the complainant and would not go to bed, child advised to go to bed and complainant advised that this was not an issue police should have been contacted about.
  • Fire Assist, Southern Pipe Co: Complainant advised hearing a loud pop and fire, male subject had a 55 gal drum on fire, burning trash that was extinguished.
  • Suspicious person, N. Broad St. Golden Pantry; female subject on location acting strange, given escort home to Turner Street.
  • Domestic problem, Spruce Ln. between male and female subjects and incident became physical. Warrants to be taken for Battery, Theft, and Obstruction of 911 call.
  • Counterfeit money, MLK Jr. Blvd. (GNC) Manager wanted to advise that someone gave her a fake $100 bill on Monday. The bill has already been deposited and sent to Treasury by bank. No report requested.
  • Area check requested in area of SSMHP towards Walker Dr. in regards to subject driving tan SUV and has active warrants. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Welfare check, Home Depot in regards to B/M wearing white/orange polo shirt stumbling and difficulty talking. Contact made w/ male subject who is handicapped and diabetic. No signs of alcohol present. Subjects past injuries prevent him from walking and talking normal. All ok.
  • Suspicious vehicle on Hwy 11 NB from Social Circle in regards to motorcycle driven by W/M not wearing helmet. Motorcycle was stopped by WCSO
  • Suspicious person, Russell Dr. in regards to male sleeping under tractor trailer. Contact made w/ male subject who was sleeping in the woods. Subject advised to leave and not come back, all ok.
  • Shoplifting, Quality Foods. B/M driving blue Ford Ranger w/ missing passenger rear window tried taking a cart full of groceries but fled scene w/o groceries. Value was $206.37.
  • Dispute, Charlie’s (W. Spring) between customer and staff over food served. Customer did not want food and wanted refund. Refund was given and situation mediated.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Carmichael’s in regards to black Honda Accord illegally parked and unattended infant inside. Vehicle was GOA prior to arrival.
  • Dispute, E. Church St., B/F causing disturbance. Complainant called back and advised to disregard prior to arrival due to female leaving location
  • Juvenile complaint, Hampton Dr. in regards to unruly 16 YOA female. Once on scene, mother declined help or report and stated she would handle the situation on her own.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Magnolia Terrace. Mother advised her son got struck in the head while playing with children in the neighborhood. She advised she spoke to the other parent and the situation was mediated prior to police arrival.
  • Suspicious Vehicle on Pine Park Street at Davis St., An unknown light skinned black male was riding an ATV in the roadway. Officer approached subject and he fled on ATV, leaving it abonanded after riding behind duplexes on Lacy Street. ATV towed by towing company.
