Monroe PD Reports: Suspicious vehicles, domestic disputes and troublesome juveniles

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 19 – 25, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Juvenile Complaint, East Church St., reference to 15-year-old off her meds, not listening, and walking off. 15-year-old was given a ride back to her residence where she then began having a mental breakdown. 15-year-old was voluntarily transported by EMS to be mentally evaluated. Follow up was done with DFCS.
  • Traffic Stop, North Madison Ave./Bold Springs Ave., Derrick Brown was arrested for probation violation warrant through Walton County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported and turned over to the jail. His vehicle was turned over to a named subject by request.
  • Extra Patrol, complainant requested extra patrol in the area of Plaza Dr., reference to the odor of illegal narcotics and paint thinner in the area.
  • Dispute, South Hammond Dr., Officers made contact with the complainant who had a complaint about a storage unit in town. She was advised the situation was a civil matter.
  • Dispute, Breedlove Dr., Ridgeview. The call came in as a code “yellow” with unknown details other than being need as quickly as possible. Upon arrival, staff acted like nothing was happening and the “situation” was resolved. Staff was lectured on the liability of having officers run code if the situation is not a true emergency.
  • Civil Dispute, Lakeview Dr., the complainant advised he had a civil agreement with named female subject who was supposed to be making payments on a vehicle he sold her.  The complainant advised she has stopped making payments and will not return the vehicle
  • Follow Up, Georgia Ave., DFCS in reference to named male subject being seen at the Quick Pick Food Mart on South Madison Avenue. The subject was transported to DFCS where he was transferred over to their custody.
  • Prowler, Third St., reference to a male and female on location in a blue passenger car that the complainant did not know. Officers made contact with the mother and her son. The two advised that the child’s father resided on location and mother was trying to leave her son with him. Officer’s had negative contact with the complainant. Mother and her son were sent on their way.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., John’s Supermarket, complainant having a verbal conflict with boyfriend’s ex.  The complainant was referred to courts in reference to good behavior bond or Temporary Protection Order.
  • Return, 3rd St., complainant called back now advising that the female subject from above call had active warrants. Female was gone when officers arrived. Barrow County Sheriff’s Office was advised to check an address on Tanners Bridge Circle.
  • Theft, South Madison Ave., reference to juveniles stealing bikes from the residence. Only requested extra patrol of the residence during the night hours.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, High School Ave., On Stage in reference to a white GMC Sonoma on location for several days. Ok.
  • Deceased Person, Hwy 138, Great Oaks, 86 year-old-female passed away as she was being loaded in the ambulance at Great Oaks.  She was a patient with an extensive medical history.
  • Juvenile Complaint, North Midland Ave., Advance Tax Services. Advised skateboarders to leave the property. All ok.
  • Dispute, Towler St., between two subjects in reference to leaving a charger inside the residence. One subject was not home and advised her to contact him to get the charger.
  • Dispute, North Midland Ave., reference to a black male driving black car yelling at a white female with 3 children. Made contact with the female and her kids who stated the male was her ex-boyfriend and the recently broke up. She was given a ride to a family member’s home for the night.
  • Dispute, Ridgeview, reference to a 13-year-old male dropping a computer monitor on a doctor’s foot.  Ridgeview did not need any police assistance at this time.
  • Suspicious Person, Mountain View Dr., reference to complainant seeing a black male cutting between her residence.  Checked the area with negative contact with anyone.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Highway 78 East/Highway 138, reference to a Toyota passenger car impeding the flow of traffic. Negative contact.
  • Damage to Property, GW Carver Apt., reference to the window busted out of her vehicle sometime overnight. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, East Spring St., Laughter and Lullabies Childcare in reference to a Silver Honda passenger car on location. The vehicle belonged to daycare owner, all ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Dollar General, reference to a vehicle parked next to the shipping door. Everything is ok with the vehicle unable to get in contact with the owner.
  • Suspicious Person, Green St., reference to an unknown person pushing in an AC unit.  Caller wanted extra patrol for the evening.
  • Welfare Check, E. Fambrough, reference to a male subject not taking care of himself or taking medicine. Transported to Piedmont Walton for a voluntary evaluation.
  • Domestic, Storehouse Court, reference to a dispute between two subjects over dishes not being done. Both parties claimed to be assaulted by the other. No evidence of primary aggressor. Report taken.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., reference to male from previous call wanting to leave the ER. Staff advised he had not yet been medically cleared to leave. Situation mediated.
  • Suspicious Person, Bold Springs Ave., reference to a black male wearing a hoodie, black jeans, and a green belt coming to the back door of the complainant’s house. No contact with the subject fitting that description. Checked the area.
