Monroe PD Reports: Theft, entering auto, domestic disputes and sexual assault reported

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 27 – 24, 2017. Due to the length of the report, it has been split into 5 parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Wanted Person, South Madison Ave in reference to Lacey Bernard being on location with a warrant. Bernard was placed under arrest and transported to the Walton County Jail and turned over to Jail staff without incident. Report taken.
  • Warrant Pick Up at Gwinnett County Jail. In reference to picking up Kendrick Larkin for MPD probation violation warrant. Subject transported to Walton County Jail.
  • Follow up, Old Mill Point in reference to a theft report taken on 11/17/2017 by officer, spoke with complainant who had previously reported a theft of rent money owed her and a key to her residence, she had stated it was taken by named male subject who was living with her. Complainant stated when male subject moved out she thought he had taken her money and house key, it was later discovered to have just been misplaced. supplement report taken to the original case #.
  • Theft report, West Reese St., in reference to pine straw taken from the yard, mother and her daughter requested extra patrol. report declined.
  • Domestic dispute, Creekview Dr., Met with complainant whom stated she was in a verbal dispute with her nephew. Complainant advised she wanted her nephew to go home to Buford and he was refusing to leave. The nephew was gone upon arrival. Officer made contact with the nephew at the Chevron on South Broad St.  The nephew advised complainant has dementia and he lives on Creekview Dr.
  • Suspicious person, Magnolia Terrace in reference to complainant witnessing a juvenile, name given standing outside of Magnolia Terrace masturbating. Report taken.
  • Assault, North Broad St.  at the Golden Pantry – female subject on location with bloody nose and lip.  Female advised she was assaulted by her boyfriend but refused to give his name or the location where she was assaulted.
  • Domestic Dispute, Lacy St., grandson called advised her 88-year-old grandmother and her 86-year-old boyfriend got into an argument and it became physical.  No signs of violence and no evidence. Report taken.
  • Domestic Dispute, Spring St. Laundry, female subject from earlier call advised earlier this date, her named boyfriend struck her and stole her phone. Female called police earlier this date but refused to give any information at that time and also went to Clearview but refused to report at that time as well. Report taken
  • Loitering and Prowling at MPD. Five Juveniles caught walking on rooftop of MPD. All juveniles turned over to parents and Monroe Utilities will inspect rooftop to insure no damage was done. A follow-up will be done after inspection.
  • Dispute, Breedlove Dr. (Ridgeview) in regard to white patient destroying facility property and trying to escape. Units arrived on scene and made contact w/patient who was being combative. Officers tried to talk patient into isolation room and patient undressed and took an aggressive stance. Two officers then attempted to go hands on and tried to assist patient to ground but patient still combative and was tased by officer and patient was secured. Patient was escorted to a restraint bed and secured w/ staff assistance. No injuries and Use of Force to be completed.
  • Dispute, E. Spring St. (Monroe Motor Inn) in regard to anonymous caller hearing dispute near room # given. Contact made with male and female in that room. Both admitted they were having verbal argument but nothing physical. All appeared ok, advised to keep noise down.
  • Call received from Security at Tall Oaks in regard to 2 black males wearing hoodies were walking around looking in vehicles and then saw him and took off on foot. All units checked area including Baron Properties w/ negative contact.
  • Entering Auto, East Marable St., complainant advised her boyfriend’s volt meter is missing from his vehicle.  Vehicle is locked and no signs of forced entry.  Complainant advised she was going to check her residence for said volt meter and she requested extra patrol for her residence.
  • Theft, South Broad St., Walton Security Storage.  Handled the call by telephone due to the complainant not being in town.  Customer stored items at this storage facility and sometime between 8/1/2017 and 10/27/2017 unknown persons broke into the unit taking the items.
  • Dispute, Magnolia Terrace, reference to male subject using complainant’s car. He has had access to the car in the past and she did not want him to have it today and asking him to return the car.  At this time no, criminal act and will wait for Brown to return the vehicle.
  • Fraud Phone Call, South Madison Ave., reference to complainant receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be the IRS, the caller left a voicemail threatening him that he would be arrested if he did not pay the amount due. Complainant stated he wanted to make the police aware. Report declined
  • Traffic Stop, South Broad St., Johns Supermarket. Stop conducted on a Honda Civic GA tag # for cancelled registration. Vehicle was searched due to an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Driver, Christy Wheeler, was arrested for driving with suspended license, no registration on vehicle, and an active warrant through Rockdale County for FTA. Passenger cited and released on copy for open container. Vehicle impounded by towing company.
  • Suspicious Person, Walton Road near John Deer Road – In reference to a black male skateboarding in the roadway.  Officer made contact with subject and advised him to stay out of the roadway.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., Home Depot, female subject in a civil dispute with male subject over a firearm she purchased for him while they were dating. Female subject had visible bruising on her body and advised male subject assaulted her at a residence on Jim Daws Road.  Officer’s offered to have Walton County Sheriff’s Office en-route however female subject stated she would make a report with WCSO at a later time.
  • Extra Patrol, Edwards St., reference to an unknown black male walking around looking in the windows of residences.  Negative contact upon officer arrival.
  • Sexual Assault report taken at South Broad St., Met with DFACS who stated juvenile was sexual assaulted sometime between May of 2016 and May of 2017 on Forrest Lane Monroe GA by two male subjects, names given.
