Monroe PD Reports: Woman suspected in hit and run claims young daughter had car

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 9 – 16, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please not an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious vehicle, Walmart distribution center.  Management wanted to know registered owner due to vehicle being on location for several days.
  • Welfare Check, Wheelhouse Lane, reference to an elderly female and her living conditions. Made contact with resident. She stated everything was ok and her living conditions are ok at this time.
  • Counterfeit Money, Bold Springs Ave., The Market. Clerk advised that named customer passed a counterfeit $100 bill. Customer stated he did not know it was counterfeit. He stated he got the money from a card game last date. The money was collected and placed into evidence.
  • Damage to property, 6th St., Complainant reported an accident that took place this date at 1336 on East 5th Street at its intersection with South Broad Street.  Contact was made with both drivers and a report was taken.
  • Met with family on South Broad St., Family has to pick up named male subject from Augusta and bringing him home. Was wanting to know what to do if they have any issues with a 17-year-old en-route.
  • Hit and Run complainant taken at MPD. Met with victim whom advised he was rear ended by a silver Chevrolet Trailbazer with GA tag #given. He stated the accident occurred on the Hwy 78 exit ramp from Hwy 78 EB getting onto Hwy 11. Victim advised the driver was a black female with big bushy hair. A photo lineup was conducted on the registered owner. No positive identification.
  • 911 hang up, Wheel House Lane.  Upon arrival contact was made with the mother who stated her juvenile daughter was assaulted by the adult next-door neighbor (name given).  Contact was made with neighbor who stated she was breaking up a fight between her niece and the juvenile. Neighbor stated she never struck juvenile. Juvenile had a busted lip and red marks on her nose.  Due to conflicting stories between parties and due to the juveniles being engaged in a physical altercation prior to neighbor getting involved no charges were taken by officers.  Mother and daughter were given the listed case number for this incident and referred to the pre-warrant hearing in the Walton County Magistrate Court.
  • Suspicious Vehicle/Domestic Dispute, Hwy 11 SB from All Star Gas Station. Complainant was being followed by a blue GMC Sierra that was trying to run them off the road. Both vehicles went down Roscoe Davis Road. Handled by county.
  • Follow Up, Bridgeport Lane. Contacted the registered owner from the hit and run earlier this date. She advised her 15-year-old daughter has been driving her vehicle all day. Spoke to daughter whom gave a description of her day. Could not identify consistent damage on the vehicle, and daughter’s story did not match victim’s story. In addition, daughter did not match the description of the driver given by the victim.
  • Suspicious person in area of Mill St. Unknown details and anonymous caller. Area was checked, and all appeared ok.
  • Suspicious persons, Walmart regarding people pan-handling in parking lot. Negative contact
  • Silent hold-up, S. Madison Ave. (Revival Antiques) regarding employee saw white male wearing hoodie and got scared and pushed alarm. White male was employee. All was ok.
  • Burglary, Mobley Circle, residence stated three cell phones and wallet taken. Video footage was available, and report taken.
  • Suspicious person on W. Fambrough St. in regard to black male selling drugs. Area checked on foot with negative contact.
  • Suspicious vehicle near Wellington Dr. in regard to sedan occupied multiple times parked in front of residence. All ok, teenagers picking up friend.
  • Agency assist on Hwy 78 WB at Unisia Dr. in regard to GSP needing assistance with search. All ok.
  • Fight call, Tanglewood Dr. While responding, dispatch advised people possibly struck by vehicle and 1 female not responding. Once on scene, investigation showed kids were fighting over insults from school and male was struck by Ford Expedition but all people on scene did not see anything and male refused medical treatment and filing charges. Incident was documented.
  • Suspicious vehicle, W. Spring St. (Los 3 Amigos) regarding blue Cutlass that was hanging out in parking lot and then went across street. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious person, Mobley Circle, regarding black wearing camo jacket walking in area. All ok, contact made with subject.
  • Damage to property, Nowell St., complainant wanted to report on damage that possibly occurred @ Walmart. Report taken
  • Domestic Dispute, Carver Pl., named male subject struck female subject in front of her kids and sister due to male believing female was being promiscuous. Male was gone when officers arrived – warrants to be taken.
  • Domestic Dispute, Pine Park St., complainant wanted police advice on separating from her boyfriend. Complainant called back and advised she would come to MPD and then declined meeting and advised she would call back later in the day.
  • Domestic Dispute, Turner St., regarding complainant stating his girlfriend and him were having dispute about her sleeping w/ another male. The girlfriend told complainant she put her daughters head through a wall and was going to call police and advise police complainant committed the crime. No evidence to support either story and incident documented.
