Monroe signs on to IGA supporting a referendum for a 2021-2024 T-SPLOST

The City of Monroe will have its June 2020 meeting, again in person, at 6. p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at City Hall on North Broad Street.

On the consent agenda is an approval of an Inter-governmental Agreement between Walton County and the rest of the cities therein to put out a call for a referendum on the November 2020 ballot for a Transportation Special Local Option Sales Tax. If approved, this is expected to raise 60 million over the four years from 2021 to 2024, earmarked specifically for transportation projects. The City of Monroe’s portion of the funds raised would be 15,4147% estimated to be $9,248,820. The funds would be used as follows:
