Monroe to discuss contract approval for new Police Department and Court Building

The Monroe City Council has a full agenda Tuesday for its March work session on Tuesday, including discussing awarding the contract for the architectural and engineering services for the new Police Station / Municipal Court building. Last year, the city purchased Walton Plaza with a portion of the old Food Lion building to be developed into the new Police and Court System.  The City Council green-lighted the project last year with the project set to begin this year.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Monroe City Hall on N. Broad Street in Monroe. The voting session will take place next week, March 12, 2019, at the same time and place. The public is invited to attend. The full agenda for the work session follows.
