Make a beautiful heart-shaped wall pocket – perfect gift for your Valentine! Perfect place for succulents (not provided) or tuck a sweet note inside. ​Your project will be ready in two weeks. TACO BAR
Our menu at the January Soiree is a delectable taco bar provided by our board and volunteers.  Build your own soft or hard taco(s) or nacho plate!  Homemade cookies and brownies, too.  This is a fund-raiser for our non-profit art center.

A Poem a Week

New poetry writing class begins January 7, 2020.  If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at poetry, now’s the time!  Fees: $95 for members, $105 for non-members for 10 weeks.  Please register by Jan 7 at the front desk or call 770-207-8937.

Acrylic & Oil Painting
Tuesdays starting January 14 from 12:30 – 2:30
Lynne is an accomplished artist and has taught for many years.  Your choice of what you want to paint – Lynne will help you compose a floral or still life or you can paint from a photo. Wildlife … landscape … still life – your choice! Lynne will help ALL skill levels get your idea on canvas. Drawing instruction, painting techniques or color combinations – Lynne will teach you and guide you.

Fees: INTRO PRICE!!! January and February only – $15 per class for members/$20 for non-members. A bundle of four classes for $50/$60. Regular price is $20/$25 for one class or $65/$75 for a four week bundle.  Register at the front desk or call 770-207-8937 (online registration is under construction at this time).

Teen Art and Pizza
Friday  January 24th from 6 – 8 pmWe’ll celebrate the beauty of winter by painting snow covered trees onto glass bottles.  As we paint, we will also enjoy pizza.  Once the paint dries, the bottles will be filled with tiny lights to represent falling snow or stars. $25 includes pizza and all supplies.

  • Walton Writers:  Thursday, January  9 from 5 – 6:30.  Email Barbara Barth for more info about this writers’ group that also hosts a free write-in on Mondays from 12 – 3.
  • Southern Sisters in Crime: Saturday, January 19 at 3 pm. You do not have to be a mystery writer to join, just enjoy the genre, Contact Marlene if you are interested in attending their meetings, generally held on the third Sunday of each month at 3pm.

Oil Painting Workshop

Oil painting workshop with the expert help of MWCA founding artist and teacher, Susan Pelham.  You choose what you want to paint!  All skill levels, including experienced painters who want to take your skills to the next level.  Ask for a supply list or check out the Facebook event for a supply list.
