A collision last week between a vehicle and a Walton EMC truck at the intersection of Youth Monroe Road and Highway 78 in the early morning hours of Feb. 14, 2018 sent two people to the hospital and resulted in driving under the influence and drug charges for one of the drivers.
According to Trooper First Class Cal Barton with Georgia State Patrol, the passenger in the bucket truck, Christopher Stacy, 53, of Good Hope, was transported to Clearview Regional Medical Center. The driver of the passenger vehicle, Kristina Robertson, 30, of Monroe, was taken to Clearview Regional Medical Center before being moved to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
Barton said Robertson was traveling north on Youth Monroe Road when she allegedly ran the stop sign, striking the Walton EMC bucket truck, driven by Douglas Taylor, 56, of Loganville, in the right side. Taylor was headed east on Georgia 10 (Highway 78) when the accident occurred.
Barton said warrants have been taken against Robertson for driving under the influence, failure to stop at a stop sign, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis oil without a medical permit and serious injury by vehicle.
