Saturday Soiree Success!!
What a GREAT day.  Thank you, Monroe (and surrounding areas!) for coming to our party last Saturday! Our friends and neighbors showed up, with glad hearts and happy to have a fun place to go on a hot Saturday. All our workshops were super busy. Lots of laughter and good times. At least a couple hundred visited, many for the first time, and I heard a by now very familiar refrain: “This place is amazing! I’ve never visited before. I just love it!”I’m so proud of and thankful for our volunteers and board members who supported us today! The gallery committee stepped up big time and even though it was out of their comfort zone, many agreed to be models in our little fashion show. So many thanks to Mary Ellen Vogel, Shirley Yagrich, Susan Pelham, Susan Dodd, Joy Hunt Poole, Myra Smith and teen models Kensington Hammons and Lizzy Spruell. Oh, and our MC, Denis Vogel!Ever faithful volunteers/board members/teachers Trisha Watson, Barbara Barth, Colleen Jackson, Laura McCall Templeton, Rebecca Hails Braswell, Donna Coffman, Julie Bell and Jessica Hudgins helped in dozens of ways and taught our workshops, (Jessica wrote personalized poems, even, how wonderful, right?!) providing a creative and fun atmosphere for our visitors. We even welcomed a new intern today, Cheyanne. She is a sweetheart.

Topping off the day was the support of local businesses: Belk in Bethlehem, MoJo BBQ and Rendezvous Coffee.

While I’m thanking volunteers, I have to mention Robin Humphreys, our intrepid face painter at the first Friday concerts this summer. She is awesome. I love it when kids ask her, “What can you paint?”, expecting the usual limited menu, and Robin responds: “I can paint anything. I’m an artist.” 😊

Behind the scenes, Sandy Blanchard provides our graphics and drawings (and encouraging words) for our events here — one more generous and talented artist to thank!!

Thank you all — Friends, volunteers, board members, awesome creatives, generous hearts and strangers who took a chance, took some time and came out to our first Saturday Soiree!

WE CAN’T WAIT!! Write down Saturday, September 14 for our next Soiree! We already have an awesome lineup coming!
