The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 23 – 30, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Hit and run – North Broad St. and East Spring St. Ref to a white Penski truck that hit a parked car. Third party complaint, no contact with victim.
Suspicious person – West Spring St., Piedmont Walton. Ref to an escaped mental patient. Subject was located at Ihop and was returned.
Stolen vehicle – Alcovy St. Complainant advised his vehicle was stolen at 03:00 hours. Subject was not able to provide any information of the vehicle other than a black 2018 Kia Forte. Report taken. Appeared to be a possible repossession.
Missing Person – West Spring St. Piedmont Walton. Complainant reported her estranged husband, missing.
Gun – Lacy St. and Harris St. Complainant advised someone pulled a black revolver on him after a fight.
Follow up – Pine Park. Complainant wanting to re-advised of above call and ask for a supervisor. Complainant was advised of how investigations are done.
Follow up -Pine Park St. Complainant advised while trying to keep her son away from Lacy St. she saw a light skin b/m display a gun and say he was not going to shoot son. Supplemental added to original report, complainant added as witness.
Dispute Report – South Broad Street, MPD. Complainant wanted to report abuse from her husband. She was told to document incidents to get a Temporary Protection Order. Report taken.
Suspicious vehicle – HW138 and H. D. Atha. Ref to a speeding grey passenger car. Area searched with negative contact.
Discharging firearms – Eagles Trail. Tymel Marby placed under arrest at gun point for discharging in city limits. One shotgun and one 9mm taken for evidence. UOF report completed.
Violent domestic dispute – Harris St. Wrong address given by radio multiple times. Correct address is Hill St, see call next.
Violent domestic dispute – Hill St. Complainant disputing with subject. Report taken Follow up – Hill St. Complainant locked subject out of residence, situation mediated.
Dispute – W Spring St. Haven Inn and Suites. In reference to the manager stating that a male assaulted a female on location. Contact made with subjects who advised they were in a verbal dispute. All ok.
Dispute – Nowell St. In reference to father of daughter’s child refusing to return property to complainant.
Scam – Wheeler St. In reference to complainant stating that someone was using her phone number to scam other people. Complainant was advised to contact their cell phone provider and remedies.
Welfare Check – N Broad St at Hwy 78. In reference to female sitting on the bridge per complainant. Upon contact with the subject it was discovered she had an active warrant out of Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office. A hold was placed by Gwinett County Sheriff’s Officer and the female subject was placed into custody and transported to the Walton County jail. Report taken.
Dispute – W Spring St. Piedmont Walton. In reference to a male on location disputing with staff about seeing a female patient. Male was gone when officers arrived.
Traffic Stop – S Broad St at W Washington St. Vehicle was stopped for no tag light, upon investigation the driver was issued a citation for Poss. of marijuana. Report taken.
Dispute – W Spring St. Marathon. In reference to a vehicle that pulled the gas nozzle off a pump station. Gas station clerk wanted a report made due to a vehicle accidentally pulling off the pump as they drove away.
