MPD Report: Foot Patrols, traffic accidents, burglary and disputes

The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period March 28 to April 3, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Vehicle Stop – Subject issued citations for no insurance and license not on person. Vehicle towed by Taylor’s.
  • Traffic Accident / driving under the influence- Pine Park St @ Lacy St; Lanessa Gonzalez was involved in a single-vehicle traffic accident and was arrested and charged with failure to maintain lane, too fast for conditions, open container, and DUI alcohol less safe.
  • Burglary – Sporty Lane: Complainant leaves her front door unlocked.  She said her residence was entered through the front door and the only things missing were from her son’s room (55″ TV, Playstation 4 with the controller, 6 pair of Nike shoes).  No serial numbers.  Report taken.
  • Theft Report – Storehouse Ct: Complainant on the scene in reference to a stolen bicycle. Advised her son’s black and green huffy bike was possibly taken. Requested extra patrol of the area for the remainder of the shift. Report denied.
  • Suspicious Person – Fire Station 1: Juveniles on scene riding bicycles. Three of the four were educated on the curfew for juveniles. One subject attempted to abscond, was caught and returned home to mother.
  • Traffic Stop – N. Broad/Oak St.: Officer observed a vehicle with a non-working brake light.  Officer conducted a traffic stop and during the course of the stop, Terry Thomas arrested for Dekalb County SO warrants.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. – Piedmont Walton in reference to a patient acting out. Situation was mediated.
  • Burglary – Gatewood Dr. in reference to someone damaging the screen on the front window. Report taken.
  • Warrant Served – S. Broad St. – MPD. Kymani Findlay was arrested for a Violation of Probation warrant and transported to Walton County Sherriff’s Office.
  • Warrant Served – University Pkwy – Gwinnett County Jail in reference to Lisa Parker being on location with a City warrant. Lisa Parker was transported to the City of Monroe Police Department to be fingerprinted; she was then transported to the Walton County Jail and turned over to the jail staff without incident. Report taken
  • Foot Patrol – Down Town Monroe. All ok.
  • Fraud – S. Broad S. – MPD in reference to an unknown subject obtaining subject’s information and having her Direct Express card number changed. After the card number was changed, her SSI check was deposited into the new account.
  • Found Property – N. Midland Ave. in reference to a found cell phone. The subject stated he found a LG (G5) cell phone in the restroom at Walmart. Phone placed into evidence at the Monroe Police Department
  • Dispute – W. Spring St., Sprint Store. In reference to standing by with Walton County SO while a TPO was served. All ok.
  • Shoplifting – E. Church St., Chestnut Cupboard – Store clerk advised of a black male stealing candy bars.  Declined to want a report.
  • Traffic Stop – Hwy 78EB and W. Spring St.  Mr. Ronald Malcom and Mr. Courtney Lewis were arrested for poss meth, poss drug related objects, traffic offenses and giving false names to law enforcement. Vehicle impounded.
  • Lost Item – W. Spring St. – Met with the complainant who advised he lost his wallet.  Report Taken.
  • Foot Patrol – Glen Iris Dr. and Edwards. Units patrolled area and observed 6 vehicles, one bicycle, and 0 violations within 40 minutes.
  • Foot Patrol – Bryant Rd and Stowers St. Units patrolled area for 15 minutes and observed one car with no violations.
