MPD Reports: 14-year-old taken to hospital for overdose after alleged suicide attempt at school

The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 17 – 24, 2019. Due to the length, this report was split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Drugs – S. Madison Ave., Felker Park. Two females and a male arrested for possession of marijuana less than 1oz. Released on a copy. 
  • Suicide Threats – N. Midland Ave – Subject, threatened to harm herself and cut her arm with a knife. She volunteered to go to Piedmont Walton by EMS.
  • Dispute – Heritage Trace. – Officer was requested to stand by while the subject was checked out by a social worker. The subject decided to go to the hospital for a mental evaluation. All ok.
  • Theft – Wheelhouse Lane Complainant said he was jumped by three people and his fanny pack was stolen.
  • Suspicious Vehicle -Hwy 78 & Unisia – Subject cited and released for driving on a suspended license following a call about a possibly intoxicated driver.
  • Dispute – W. Creek Cir. – Mother was intoxicated and wanted her daughter to leave. She was advised of the eviction process.
  • Agency Assist – Meadowbrook Dr. – Residence checked for the subject on location at Walton County Jail’s request. He was not on location according to his mother.
  • Prowler – Carwood Dr. Caller stated it sounded like someone was in the back yard. Area checked and Officer’s had negative contact with anyone nor signs that anyone was in the yard.
  • Suicide attempt – 14-year-old female took medication at school and overdosed. Female was brought to the hospital and later transferred to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
  • Damage to Property – Storehouse Court – In reference to 3 juveniles throwing a chair at complainant’s 2000 Toyota Avalon on 10/18/2019. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Felker St. Dispute over laundry. She was advised again that we are not the laundry police, and that she needs to evict her daughter.
  • Dispute – Booth Dr. – Complainant advised that she had a verbal dispute with her boyfriend. The complainant stated that the boyfriend broke the closet door after their argument and left. The complainant did not want to press any charges.
  • Damage to property – Davis St. Complainant advised that the renter had damaged the property with a Uhaul truck. The complainant was advised of what she could do. Picture and a report was taken.
  • Dispute – Mill Stone Blf. The complainant had questions on how to obtain a Temporary Protection Order, she was advised on how all ok.
  • Mental person – W. Spring St. and N. Madison Ave. The subject on location stating she was being Poisoned and had proof. She showed Officer a silicon packet, she was advised that as long as she did not eat the silicon packet, she would be ok.
  • Dispute – Felker St. Complainant calling again because her daughter will not remove her clothes from her room. She was advised to remove it by herself then and put a lock on the door.
  • Dispute – W. Creek Cir. in reference to a mental health call. No dispute had occurred and family advised of the mental evaluation process. All ok.
  • Armed Robbery – W. Spring St. -KFC- three black males made entry into the store at closing time and robbed 5 employees at gunpoint. The suspect vehicle was stopped at N. Midland and E. Marable and three males were arrested and charged with Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault. Criminal Investigation Division investigating.
