MPD Reports: 2 adults arrested following dispute over kids neighborhood football game

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 3 – 10, 2019. Due to length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Nowell St. in reference to neighbors’ kids playing football. Parties separated. 
  • Dispute – Nowell St.; In reference to subjects from earlier dispute arguing over the same incident involving juveniles playing football. One subject was arrested and charged with reckless conduct and another was arrested and charged with an aggravated assault.
  • Juvenile Complaint -Walmart; In reference to juveniles on location, refusing to leave. Made contact with the subjects and they stated they were not asked to leave, they were released to mother.
  • Burglary in progress – Tall Oaks E. Complainant called to report he received a call from the tenant at this location who advised her daughter was home alone and someone was in the kitchen. The residence was checked, no contact with anyone unlawfully inside the residence, no signs of damage or attempts to enter the residence were observed.
  • Domestic Dispute – Glenwood Dr; Two subjects were involved in a dispute over one of the subjects leaving the residence with their child.
  • Crowd Control -Da Grand; In reference to clearing the parking lot after closing.
  • Damage to property – Lacy Street; In reference to the complainants’ phone being broken by her daughters’ ex-boyfriend who was not on location.
  • Entering Auto Suspects – Palmer Ct; Complainant observed a silver SUV park in the subdivision and two black males exit the vehicle. Officers arrived in the area, checked the subdivision, and did not make contact with the subjects. Officers then set up at the entrance of the subdivision and made contact with the vehicle as it was leaving. The vehicle led Officers on a short chase before crashing. The driver fled the vehicle on foot and the passenger, one subject was apprehended at the scene. WCSO K9 responded but was unable to locate the driver. A stolen gun was located in the vehicle and the passenger admitted to committing several entering auto’s in the subdivision. Criminal Investigation Division was notified but did not respond. Through further investigation, the driver was identified as a 16-year who is still outstanding (He was later arrested). The original subject was charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, theft by receiving, loitering and prowling, and obstruction.
  • Runaway Juvenile – Carver Pl.: Complainant advised that her daughter (did not come home last night. She stated she was last seen driving her vehicle with Ga Tag # RQY1308. Report taken.
  • Runaway Juvenile – Green St.: Complainant stated that his daughter didn’t come home last night and she went with another individual. Report taken.
  • Follow Up – Carver Place: Complainant stated her daughter has returned. Had contact with daughter and she was in good health. Dispatched that the subject was not entered on GCIC yet.
  • Follow Up – Green St.: Mr. Durham stated that his daughter returned home. Had contact with daughter and she appeared to be in good health. Dispatched advised the subject had not been entered onto GCIC yet.
  • Entering Auto – St Ives Walk – In reference to two vehicles entered through the night.
  • Warrant Attempt – Green St attempted to serve a city warrant on subject. Negative contact
  • W. Vine St. Complainant was told that a named subject was driving in a White Chevrolet Truck entering unknown empty trailers and stealing refrigerators.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. (Wal-Mart) In reference to a subject arrested for shoplifting. He was cited and released.
  • Found Property – W. Washington St., Complainant found three bikes that belong to a named subject who lives at the above location.
  • Traffic Stop – W. Spring St. in reference to stopping a vehicle with tinted windows. Made contact with the driver and addressed the reason for the stop and checked her tint which returned at 16%. There were three passengers in the vehicle as well who all returned with warrants and were transported to the Walton County Jail. Report Made.
  • Dispute – Pine Park St. A subject was arrested and charged with cruelty to children 1st and battery after dispute with neighbors where a child was injured. Report Made.
  • Mental Health – S. Madison Ave. Intoxicated male walked into the Monroe Fire Department. Officers were able to make contact with family members and he was turned over to family. All ok.
  • Vehicle Pursuit – E. Washington and Felker St. in reference to a reckless black passenger car coming through the city. Attempted traffic stop resulted in a vehicle chase which ended in Madison. Suspect fled from the vehicle and Putnam County K9 lost the track. Felony marijuana recovered in vehicle.
