MPD Reports: Burglary, thefts, DUI, drugs and disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 31 to Nov. 7, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Traffic stop -on S. Broad St at Washington St. Subject was placed under arrest for DUI. Report Made. 
  • Juvenile Complaint – 6th St.: Complainant advised that his 14-year-old niece was smoking weed in the car and being unruly. Juvenile’s mother was called and she allowed her to leave and go to a friend’s house, until she comes to pick her up.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. (Piedmont Walton): Complainant advised that a black male and black female were arguing in the lobby of the hospital. Met with two individuals who were arguing. Parties separated and situation mediated.
  • Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 W x Hwy 138 in reference to a silver Buick Regal with dark tinted windows (4%). The driver, Michael had a suspended license. He was arrested and taken to the Monroe Police Department for fingerprinting. He was then released on copy of citation.
  • Drugs – Landers St. – In reference to complainant finding small bag of Methamphetamines on road next to the house. Meth put into evidence to be destroyed.
  • Missing Person – Downtown – In reference to complainant unable to find his wife. Wife located safe.
  • Dispute – Pine Park St. Kids on location cussing at adults. Made contact with parties who advised it was a miss understanding because one person thought another was trying to talk to their man. All parties were separated.
  • Dispute – Ash Lane in reference to mother’s son being upset over a gun. The mother told her son she did not have the gun he was looking for. Son was gone on arrival.
  • Drug Activity – Tanglewood Dr. / Tanglewood Lane: Complainant advised patrons rolling dice and possibly dealing drugs. Wishes patrol the area. Area check. Negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – N. Madison Ave.: Complainant advising that a blue Ford Expedition was acting suspiciously at the neighbor’s residence that just been sold. The complainant was advised if he sees the vehicle again call 911.
  • Theft – Alcovy St. in reference to file cabinets taken during the previous night. The caller is a mental health patient, and everything was ok.
  • Dispute – Complainant was punched in his face by his uncle. Seeking warrant for the uncle. Report Made
  • Warrant Executed – W. Marable St. Betty Bass taken into custody on City of Monroe PD charges of Aggravated Assault x2, Hit and Run, Cruelty to Children 3rd, Reckless Driving plus others. The supplemental report added to Original Report made by the officer.
  • Child custody – GW Carver Dr.; Complainant stated the father of her child took the child without her permission to his residence. The complainant stated it was ok for the child to remain there for the night. Father agreed to return the child in the morning.
  • Civil Issue – S. Broad St.; Rose’s Care Home – Complainant reported resident leaving without paying rent. Parties mediated and advised of civil process.
  • Lost item – Windsor Dr. in reference to complainant reporting his tag missing from his 2019 Honda motorcycle. The Tag was listed on GCIC. Report taken.
  • Burglary Report – Wheelhouse Lane; Complainant stated an unknown individual(s) entered the vacant residence between Friday and this date, and caused damage inside. In addition, another complainant stated his carpet cleaner was stolen during the same time period within the residence. Report taken.
