The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 1 – 8, 2020. Due to the length, this report was split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Dispute – Claywill Cir. Ref to subject damaging complainants’ house. Ongoing issue. Case number was given and remedies were advised. Pictures were taken and added to report.
Trespassing – East Spring St., Short Stop. Subject arrested for criminal trespass due to criminal trespass previously issued.
Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 11 approaching the City. Ref to a vehicle failing to maintain lane, Call was cancelled due to Walton County Sheriff’s Office stopping the vehicle.
Dispute – Parkway Pl. Ref to Subject trying to retrieve her car keys from her ex-boyfriend. Report taken.
Dispute – South Madison Ave. Subject on location attempting to retrieve his vehicle. He was advised to contact the WCSO civil division for assistance.
Follow up – Parkway Pl. All was ok when officers arrived, property was given back and parties were separated.
Dispute – Springer Ln. Complainant reports someone brandished a knife at a subject after a verbal argument then fled the scene. Area searched for the second party with negative contact.
Dispute – South Madison Ave. Ref to a civil issue. Complainant was advised of remedies.
Gunshot wound – Pine Park St. Subject shot in the thigh somewhere on Lacy St. Suspect supposedly ran into Lacy St. Residence surrounded and consent given to search. Once entry made, 3 subjects inside arrested for outstanding warrants from multiple agencies. Approximately 8 bullet casings recovered from the roadway in front of Lacy St. Scene Turned over to CID
Welfare Check – Carwood Dr. Ref to making contact with subject to advise her that her brother was being released from the hospital.
Juvenile Problem – Plaza Dr. Complainant wanting to file a report about her daughter being spit on while at work by a white male in the drive thru. Report taken.
Dispute – Meadow Walk Dr.- Two subjects were involved in a verbal dispute. The eviction process was explained.
Trespassing – W Spring St; Walmart. In reference to a black female on location soliciting and was verbally warned early this date about trespassing by Walmart. Female was sent on her way before officer arrival. Walmart did not want to meet with officers. All ok
Mental Patient – Walker Dr. In reference to a mental patient having suicide thoughts. Subject was turned over to EMS.
Dispute – W Spring St; Papa Johns. In reference to costumer refusing to leave. Upon officer arrival it was determined that the delivery driver failed to deliver the customers food to their residence. Staff on location gave the costumer a copy of the refunded receipt.
Other Law – W Spring St; Piedmont Walton. In reference to a follow up from previous call. Hospital staff was not able to make contact with the family of the patient in reference to picking her up. Officers made contact with family, and she was retrieved from Piedmont Walton.
Dispute – West Spring Street (Piedmont Walton Hospital): In reference to a mental patient being uncooperative. All okay
Theft – Green Street – complainant having clothing taken from a subject. Report taken.
Traffic Stop – South Madison Ave at Fambrough Street. Vehicle traffic stop on a white Mercury Mastique with no license plate. During the traffic stop investigation the driver was placed under arrest for state Probation Violation.
Dispute – Plaza Tr. – Subject kicking in the front door residence of the apartment after having his credit card stolen out of his vehicle.
Shoplifting – West Spring Street at Beautyville: an unknown black female stealing hair from this location.
Shoplifting – West Spring Street (WALMART) Subject observed shoplifting. She was fingerprinted and released on copy.
