MPD Reports: Shots fired; Mothers and sons disputing; Used needles found on walking trails

The City of Monroe Police Department reports the following incidents for the period Feb. 13 – 20, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Harassment – Stokes St. In reference to harassing text and phone calls. Spoke with complainant. She was advised to block the number and to not respond any further. All ok. 
  • Illegal dumping – Community Ct., Felker Park. Multiple used needles found by employee on the rear walking trail. Needles were collected and disposed of.
  • Dispute – W. Marable St; – Complainant and is girlfriend got into a dispute over girlfriend buying a Guinea pig. Complainant told her he didn’t want it and to return it. Complainant stated when girlfriend left the house, she threw an object at the back-kitchen window breaking it. Girlfriend was gone upon officers’ arrival.
  • Dispute – W. Marable Street. Two parties involved in a verbal dispute over the others’ drinking. Parties mediated.
  • Follow Up – S. Broad St. A runaway juvenile, was reported to be on location. Juvenile fled into the wood line upon officers’ arrival and was unable to be found.
  • Dispute – Atha St. Caller reported a black male and white female walking down the street arguing. Area checked and parties could not be located.
  • Unknown Law – Tanglewood Dr.- Caller stated they observed four subjects exit a black SUV with guns and walk behind the residence. Officers checked behind the residences on foot and had negative contact.
  • Shots Fired – G W Carver Dr. 9 shell casings found in the area after a report of gunshots in the area. Shell casings turned into evidence.
  • Emergency message – E. Church St. Marable Manor 2. Piedmont Walton requested medical staff at care home call hospital. Contact was made and message delivered, all ok.
  • Entering auto – Tall Oaks E. Contact made with complainant who advised an unknown subject broke into her vehicle and stole 3 Disturbed CD’s.
  • Dispute – E. Church St. in reference to two subjects refusing to leave the residence. Subjects were gone on arrival.
  • Suspicious vehicle – E. Marable St., Mathews Park. In reference to ATV riding within the park. Contact was made, subjects were advised to leave.
  • Animal Complaint – Landers St. Ref to a black and white Yorkie snapping at people getting in and out of their cars. Dog located and returned to owner, all ok.
  • Animal complaint – Fairway Dr. Ref to a dead raccoon in the complainants’ yard. Assisted the complainant in bagging the raccoon. All ok.
  • Follow up – Wheel House Ln. Subject retrieved her property and was criminally trespassed from the apartment.
  • Dispute – Alcovy St. in reference to complainant verbally disputing with her sister over throwing food across the yard. The subject was gone on arrival and the sister was is in the process of evicting her.
  • Fraud – S. Madison Ave., WCSO in reference to complainant having her credit card stolen while she was visiting the Breedlove and McElwany Insurance office earlier this month.
  • Dispute – Hibbett Sports. Mother and son got into a verbal dispute over money. Report taken for documentation
  • Mental Patient – N. Midland. Complainant reported wanting to go to the hospital for mental and physical health issues, Turned over to EMS.
  • Dispute – S. Broad St.- Mother and son got into a dispute. Parties separated.
