The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period 9 – 16, 2020. Due to the length, this report was split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Burglary in Progress – S. Wayne St – Complainant called in reference to finding the front doors to her vacant residence opened, the residence was cleared with assistance from Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Negative on criminal damage or theft. Extra patrol requested.
Dispute – Harris Street in reference to complainant claimed that his ex-girlfriend stole his credit card number and spent $50.00.
Dispute – Knight St. in reference to two subjects disputing over money on paypal. Remedies advised.
Juvenile Complaint – Carwood Drive in reference to mother requesting assistance with her unruly 15-year-old daughter. Daughter was refusing to go back to New Jersey with her mother. She was physically combative with her mother and officers. Juvenile was contacted in reference to felony obstruction charges and they advised they would not accept her. Turned over to her mother.
Damage to Property – Clearview Drive in reference to complainant having her mailbox struck earlier this date.
Shoplifting – Wal-Mart – Two subjects caught shoplifting. Both were given a Summons to appear in court and both were Criminal Trespassed.
Entering Auto – 4th St. Complainant stated that his unlocked truck was entered overnight. Approximately $800 worth of various tools and around $10 in loose change was taken. Report made.
Suspicious Person – E. Spring Valero. Reference to a subject being on location. Everything ok.
Missing Person – S. Broad Dollar General. In reference to a report of a missing 9-year-old boy. Juvenile was located at the Monroe Cotton Mill. After a brief foot pursuit, the juvenile was returned to his grandmother.
Dispute – W. 5th St. Dispute between stepmother and adult son. Parties separated. Son was given courtesy ride to meet sister at Dairy Queen.
Entering Auto – Breedlove Ct. Caller advised that he had footage for Officer to see, in reference to possible suspects.
Drag Racing – Tanglewood. area checked and negative contact
Stolen Vehicle Recovery – Bridgeport Pl. Vehicle reported stolen earlier in the day was recovered. It was parked in front of vacant house. CID notified and processed scene. Vehicle was returned to registered owner.
Fight – Southern Brewing Company Lumpkin Street in reference to a subject that started a fight after assaulting a female at the bar. He was in possession of felony narcotics and then fought later with officers at the ER when he was arrested.
Dispute – W. Spring Street Pizza Hut. Employee was fired and caused a scene. Multiple family members arrived and continued to cause a disturbance. Multiple people were criminally trespassed from the location.
Disturbance – Tanglewood Dr. In reference to several large parties (appx 300+ people) in the area and roadway was blocked. While units were responding to the area K9 Units stopped a car at the Valero on N. Broad St. resulting in a foot chase. Identification of suspect is known and warrants to be taken by officer.
Suspicious Person – 6th St. In reference to two males matching the description of the previous nights entering auto suspects. Subjects were gone when officers arrived. Multiple units patrolled the area with negative contact.
Suspicious Person – 2nd St. Contact made with individual walking home. He was sent on his way.
Disturbance – Piedmont Walton ER. in reference to suspect from Southern Brewing Fight causing issues with staff. He was arrested on previous charges from the fight plus additional charges of disorderly conduct and misdemeanor obstruction.
Suspicious Activity – S. Broad Car Wash. Citizen flag down stating that he heard noises sounding like someone damaging property. Area searched and contact made with subject moving items out of storage. All OK.
Med Call – N. Broad St. and Tyler St. in reference to a male unresponsive and having seizures. Turned over to EMS.
Disturbing the Peace – Felker St. Subject who is mental health patient was hearing voices outside his window. Area checked and all ok.
Entering auto – Atha St. Reference to a Black Dodge Challenger that had been entered sometime between the hours of 0030 and 0230. Report taken
Suspicious Person – Felker Park. Suspicious person wearing white hoodie similar to the description of entering auto suspect. Male was found to live in a group home and not involved in any criminal activity.
Domestic Dispute – Davis St. Reference to a subject striking his sister in the face during an argument. The subject was gone when officers arrived. Warrants taken
Dispute – Store House Court. Female caller stated boyfriend had assaulted her in the car. No physical evidence was found and story was inconsistent. No domestic relationship. Options were advised.
Welfare Check – Breedlove Dr. (Ridgeview) in reference to subject sleeping on location. Subject was turned away due to his irate behavior and sent on his way after refusing further treatment.
