MPD Reports: Aggressive woman armed with bladed weapons walking in middle of the road

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period 5 – 12, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person – E. Spring St. – FISH in reference to a white male on location who had previously made threats. The subject was served with a prohibited entry. 
  • Dispute – Classic Trail. Complainant advised that an unknown female with blonde hair showed up at her residence upset in reference to their children fighting earlier this date. Officers made contact with the female at Baron Dr. Both parties were advised to stay away from each other. All okay.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – First Presbyterian Church of Monroe – Officer observed a vehicle unoccupied in the parking lot. Drug-related objects were observed through the window. Contact made with the subject who was given a warning for objects located.
  • Discharging firearms – N. Broad & Perry St.- Area checked due to a report of discharging a firearm, none found.
  • Dispute – S. Broad & 2nd St.- Complainant advised his ex-wife, was smoking marijuana while watching their son. During the course of the investigation, less than an ounce of marijuana was located. She was cited for the marijuana and the child was turned over to the father.
  • Dispute – New Lacy; Both parties extremely intoxicated and verbally arguing. Parties mediated and separated.
  • Dispute – Atha St – Civil dispute over the living situation. Parties separated. Remedies were given.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Holly Hill Rd – The owner of the vehicle was advised to move their truck out from the middle of the road.
  • Dispute – S. Broad St. – Dollar General in reference to an unknown b/f wearing all black trespassing in the stock room of the store and fleeing the store on foot. No items were reported missing and the subject was gone on arrival.
  • Welfare Check – E. Marable St. in reference to checking on the subject at the request of her mother. The subject stated she was high on methamphetamine and needed to leave the residence. She refused medical treatment and stated she got the meth from the person who brought her to Monroe from North Georgia. Officers spoke to the family inside the residence. There were no signs of drug usage with anyone else on location. The subject was taken to the Waffle House on N. Broad St. to wait for her mother to pick her up.
  • EMS Assist – W. Spring St.- Quality Foods in reference to two subjects that were unconscious on the ground that are now rolling around. Units were canceled by EMS who stated it was in reference to two elderly personal that fell. All okay.
  • Dispute – E. Church St. – Chevron. In reference to a subject being on location making customers uncomfortable. Officers made contact with the subject and he was sent on his way.
  • Suspicious Person – E. Church Street in reference to a subject dancing in the street again causing a traffic hazard. The subject was located on the side walk at Page Street. All okay.
  • Dispute – Oak Ridge in reference to neighbors disputing over burning leaves. Situation mediated. All okay.
  • Suicide Threats – W. Marable St. In reference to the subject’s family, advising that she made statements of wanting to harm herself. The subject stated she is okay and advised she only made the statement that she was done with it, referring to being upset over her phone being hacked. The subject was showing signs of suffering from a mental disorder. She was advised to contact 911 to speak with an Officer or medical professional in the event she has thoughts or feelings of harming herself. Everything on location okay.
  • Threats – Michael Cir. In reference to the complainant receiving a prank phone call from a family member. The complainant advised all was okay.
  • Dispute – Pierce St. – Mother and daughter were in a verbal altercation about living arrangements. The Mother and daughter agreed to get along and separate for the night.
  • EMS Assist – Davis St. and Ash St. -Subject heavily intoxicated and passed out. Turned over to EMS.
  • Dispute – E. Spring St. Chevron – Clerk advised there was a black male wearing no shirt and bothering customers. Male was gone upon officers’ arrival.
  • Dispute – Hot Spot. The employee advised a subject was causing issues due to not being able to buy products. The subject was gone upon arrival. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person – In the area E. Marable St/ Birch St. In reference to a female walking in the middle of the roadway. Contact was made with the subject, who was armed with bladed weapons, and very aggressive. She was arrested. Report taken
  • Loitering – Harry’s Marathon – Vehicles on location were told to leave.
