MPD Reports: Armed robbery, mental health and drug issues and domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 30 – Dec. 6, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute, Bridgeport Lane, complainant and boyfriend disputing. Complainant did not want to speak to Officers. After a few minutes, she came out of her bedroom and advised that her boyfriend had struck her today and prior. She advised she did not wish to pursue charges. She informed Officers that she was done with the relationship. The complainant was advised of remedies.
  • Mental Person, North Broad St., reference to a male subject on location disputing with a complainant. Subject has mental issues and needs to be on his medication; he was disputing with complainant over not wanting to go to the hospital. The subject was turned over to EMS and transported to Piedmont Walton. Everything on location ok. Report taken.
  • Meet with Officer, Hill St., reference to complainant being concerned about being in violation of his probation. The complainant had a paper containing conditions of probation that was dated 2009. The complainant was advised everything is ok and to speak with his probation officer with any concerns.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., a female subject on location arguing with her sister and brother in law. The subject told the dispatcher they were actively fighting. Upon our arrival, all parties advised no physical altercation occurred this date. The subject could not provide any form of residency or tenant agreements. The subject was advised that she needed to leave. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person, South Broad St. at the Methodist Church, reference to an unknown subject sleeping on the park bench. Officers had negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Highway 138, reference to two Ford trucks driving reckless and speeding. Area check conducted with negative contact.
  • Dispute, North Midland Ave., reference to a complainant advising that her husband was trying to kick her door in. The husband advised he was visiting a neighbor. The neighbor confirmed the husband’s story. The husband advised officers he was leaving the area. All ok.
  • Suspicious Person, South Broad St., front of the Methodist Church, reference to a male subject lying in the grass. Officers made contact with the subject who was homeless. He was advised to relocate. All ok.
  • Dispute, Towler St., met with mother in reference to her 14-year-old daughter sending and obtaining sexually explicit pictures between older teenage males. Photos had been deleted prior to calling MPD and laptop check resulted in no evidence being found at the time. Report Taken
  • Civil Issue, Davis St., reference to residents at work home feeling they are being kicked out of residence illegally. All parties made aware of civil options.
  • Harassment, Davis St., reference to complainant feeling he is being threatened by named male subject who runs the home.
  • Domestic, North Midland Ave., reference to complainant saying husband was knocking on her door which violates his bond. No one on scene when police arrived.
  • Prowler, Reed Way, the complainant advised she heard knocking. Officers located juveniles outside who ran when they saw officers. Area checked with negative further contact.
  • Family Dispute, North Midland Ave., Willie Battle was arrested for violating conditions of bond and interference with a 911 call.
  • Prowler, Hampton Dr., made contact with complaints who advised they saw a flashlight moving in their wooded backyard. The area was checked by units on foot and by vehicle and everything was ok.
  • Illegal Drugs, Pine Park St., reference to complainant saying possible drug activity at this address. Area checked and appeared ok. Forwarded to FIT.
  • EMS Assist, Birch St., complainant stated bugs were going in and out of her body.  She was transported to Piedmont Walton by Monroe EMS.
  • Theft, Custom Way, the complainant advised an unknown black male came into her house acting like he knew her kids. She advised at some point the male reached in her purse and stole 89 Xanax bars. She advised a subject known to her as “Black” was outside with the unknown subject. Report taken
  • Dispute, Etten Dr., reference to a civil dispute over the sale of a vehicle. The situation was mediated, and parties came to an agreement. All ok.
  • Traffic Stop, South Hammond Dr./East Church St., Crystal Howard was stopped for an equipment violation and warrant out of Walton County Sheff’s Office for Fraud. She was arrested and released to the Walton County Jail.
  • Armed Robbery, South Madison Ave. Quick Pick, reference to a black male wearing gray hoodie and pants with a black handgun stole $700 from the cashier.
  • Dispute, Bridgeport Pl., met with a complainant who advised named subject broke several items within her home during a verbal dispute. Warrant for criminal damage to property will be taken on the subject. Report Taken
  • Suspicious Person Old Mill Point, reference to named male subject in similar clothing to the armed robbery suspect. A small amount of Marijuana located and placed into evidence to be destroyed.
  • Damage to Property, McDaniel St., met with a complainant who advised his exhaust was cut off his work truck while it was parked at his company located on Cherry Hill Rd. Cameras will be checked by complainant tomorrow. Report Taken.
  • Prowler, East Washington St., reference to someone near complainant’s vehicle possibly checking door handle. Area checked with no contact and no other vehicles appeared to have been entered.
  • Dispute, Lacy St., reference to complainant saying his aunt dropped two dogs off at his house which he cannot take care of. Advised on options.
