MPD Reports: Assault by juvenile, homeless people sleeping in cars and domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 7. – 13, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note and arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Harassment, Banker’s Boulevard, advised the business is not marked. All buildings are marked 100, 200, 300, or 400. Made contact with the complainant at building 300D.  The complainant’s daughter goes to Carver Middle School and is being bullied at school and being cyberbullied by other students. The complainant advised administrators but said nothing is being done and has even tried to move her daughter to another school. Made contact with Carver’s SRO Deputy and turned all information and passed on all of the complainant’s contact info to him.
  • Theft, Cook Pl., complainant stated someone keeps breaking into her mailbox. She stated she has advised the Post Office of this recurring incident. Report Taken.
  • Dispute, West Spring St: two area directors were there to terminate an employment.  One director said employee left the store quickly, so he had to follow her to her car to retrieve the store keys.  Once at the car, the employee began to leave while the director was by her vehicle trying to collect the store keys when she ran over his foot. Another director said he witnessed this incident happen.  Director said he wanted employee trespassed from the property and did not want to pursue charges.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West/Unisia, an officer from Loganville called in a speeding and reckless driver. The vehicle was stopped and the driver issued citations based on officers’ observations in the city limits.
  • Domestic, Edwards St., a complainant called in reference to named subject taking her drive-out tag off her vehicle while at her residence in the County. After speaking to both parties, it was determined that they were not in a domesticated relationship nor did a domestic dispute take place.  Named subject stated he did not take the tag.  The situation was mediated.  All ok.
  • Unknown Law, West Spring St., reference to an employee returning to work bleeding from the face. The employee was assaulted by juvenile over an ongoing issue at work. Report taken, Juvenile complaint filed.
  • Theft Report, City Hall, reference to complainant having his cell phone stolen on Nov 19, 2018 from Walmart in Monroe report taken
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Home Depot, on location occupied by a man who is homeless and sleeps in his vehicle. He works nearby. Nothing further.
  • Reckless Driving, Hwy 78 West/East Spring St., reference to two cars racing.  Officers had negative contact on Hwy 78 into County.
  • Suspicious Person, Piedmont Walton -Security staff stated a black male subject was on location causing a disturbance. The male subject on location and was provided a room at the Haven Inn by FISH.
  • Dispute, GW Carver Dr., reference to a couple having a verbal disagreement over a comment that was made. The male subject hit a candle holder out of anger and female wanted him to leave. Male was given a ride to Berry Road to stay with his cousin. No FV Laws were broken. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property, Unisia Dr., Hitachi, reference to a Chevy Impala. A blue 2001 Chevrolet Impala was struck by a silver Honda Civic around 0640 hours this date. The driver was identified by a witness. He was given a written warning for Hit and Run. Report taken.
  • Wanted Person, South Broad St., Monroe PD, Shandrea Benford on location wanting to turn herself in for a probation warrant. Benford was fingerprinted and taken to WCSO.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Walmart, Bailey Leach in the LP Office. Leach took $83 worth of merchandise and attempted to leave. She was taken into custody and fingerprinted at the PD. Leach was released on a citation.
  • Dispute, East Fambrough St., the complainant advised his brother came over and began disputing with parties on location. The complainant advised that his brother said he was going to get his gun. After he got to his vehicle, he left. The brother was gone in a silver passenger car when officers arrived. Report taken
  • Dispute, Tanglewood, two subjects had a verbal dispute over another subject. Dispute mediated.
  • Harassment, Towler St., met with the complainant about a male trying to start a relationship with her. She was explained her options. All ok.
  • Juvenile Complaint, West Spring St., Walmart, mother advised her daughter left the store without permission.  The daughter was later found at home and call was turned over to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Damage to Property, Martin Luther King Blvd., The ATM has a damaged card stuck in it.  Wells Fargo was notified.
  • Damage to Property, Towler St., complainant advised an unknown person spray painted her black Chevrolet Impala sometime between 2230 hours last night and 0640 hours this morning. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, South Broad St., traveling north in reference to a white passenger car with a small juvenile not properly restrained. Officer had negative contact.
  • Welfare Check, West Spring St., Walmart, reference to a white female sleeping in a black Jeep. She was ok.
