MPD Reports: Assault complaints and disputes over cats

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 20 – 27, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person – W. 5th St: Michael Pendley said people were on location trying to kill him. Pendley was on illegal drugs and had warrants out of Jasper Co SO, Houston Co SO, and Covington PD.  Pendley was arrested and turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • EMS Assist – 4th St.: Met with the complainant who stated James Johnson pushed her down on chair causing her to hit her head. Johnson was gone on arrival and has a warrant out of WCSO for Failure To Appear upon arrival. Report Taken.
  • Road Hazard on Hwy 78 and Charlotte Rowell – In reference to a ladder in the road. Ladder removed.
  • Meet With – Norris St.: Complainant said they are working to clean up the property per the homeowner. Had questions about towing a vehicle and camper from the property. Advised of remedies. Requested extra patrol due to suspicious people. All ok.
  • Juveniles with guns – Claywill Cir.  Juveniles were located with BB guns.  Advised to stay in the yard with them.
  • Harassing Social Media – Bolton St.: Complainant wanted subject to stop communicating with him via texting. Report Taken.
  • Assault – W. Spring St. (Piedmont Walton): Complainant stated she had a patient in a room stating her arm was hurting from an altercation at Lander St. with her boyfriend and daughter. Report Taken.
  • Dispute – at Monroe Area High School – In reference to subject disputing with refs and threatening staff. Subject gone on arrival. Would call if he returns.
  • Warrant Service – Monroe Police Department – Subject turned herself in reference warrants by GSP.
  • Shoplifting – E. Spring St. FISH.  B/F had buggy staged outside backdoor with items but was not able to leave with items.  Report declined at this time.
  • Harassment – N. Broad St. – In reference to a male with possible mental issues causing issues with clerks.
  • Suicide Threat – Pearce St.: Subject scratched herself but was not suicidal.  Subject just had racing thoughts. Subject left in care of her mother.
  • Warrant Served – 4th St.: James Johnson was found on location with a warrant for Failure to Appear out of Walton County. He was arrested and transport to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Report Taken.
  • Theft – MPD – In reference to a missing license plate. Report taken.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Storehouse Ct. in reference to Complainant stating her 7-year-old was hit by another little boy. Parents located and advised. All ok.
  • Assault – Carver Pl – Complainant stated she was assaulted by a subject in Skyline Apartments.  Report Taken
  • Dispute – Mill St. in reference to neighbor’s cat on the property. Upon arrival they stated they did not call 911.
  • Discharging Firearms – Old Mill Point in area of Basketball Courts.  Officers patrolled the area and had negative contact with anyone.
  • Dispute – Mears St. in reference to neighbors disputing over stray cats. Options were explained. All ok.
  • Unknown Law – Storehouse Ct. – Complainant stated that approximately fifteen subjects assaulted him.  He stated they were members of a gang.  He was unable to positively identify any of the subjects at the time of the incident.  Report taken
