MPD Reports: Assaults, fights, disputes and sexual assault complaints

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 20 – 27, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Store House Ct. Verbal dispute between two parties over jealousy issues. Situation mediated and parties separated. All ok. Report taken.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Carver Pl. Verbal argument between mother and her 17-year-old daughter. Remedies were advised.
  • Area Check – W. Spring St. at Pinecrest Dr. in reference to the traffic light hanging loose from the power lines. Monroe Utilities was notified.
  • Dispute – Wheelhouse Ln. The complainant and her boyfriend got into a verbal argument. He could not provide proof of residency. Parties were separated.
  • Fight – E. Church St., Jack Peters. Fight between two subjects. Both parties had conflicting stories. Multiple subjects involved.
  • EMS assist – E. Spring St. and S. Madison Ave. EMS requesting PD respond ref to a patient having Bi-polar episode and jumping out of the moving ambulance. Taken to hospital.
  • Assault – E. Church St.: Complainant stated subject put his hands around his throat. Complainant just wanted the incident to be documented. Report Taken.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Alcovy St. – In reference to two children playing in the street. Spoke with mother. Report made.
  • Entering Auto – Holly Hill Rd: In reference to an F-150 being broken into and a laptop being taken. Negative Contact.
  • Theft – Lacy Street:  Complainant said he was staying at Tall Oaks with two subjects and he last saw his gun (9mm Taurus) then.  Complainant does not have a serial number. Went to Tall Oaks and spoke to management. Was advised they live at Tall Oaks and officers arrested someone from this residence this weekend and were given consent to search. Spoke to the officer who said the Taurus 9mm is in evidence.
  • Domestic Dispute – Cook St. – In reference to Rashawn Jacobs assaulting complainant. Warrant taken for simple battery Family Violence.
  • Counterfeit – W. Spring St. – In reference to counterfeit money passed at the register.
  • Damage to property – W. Spring St. Hit and run happened between noon and 1400 hours this date. Report taken
  • Dispute – W. Spring St.; Complainant reported people who are angry at him over a racist social media post he made were harassing him in the drive-through line.
  • Dispute – Sorrells St. – Complainant wanted information in relation to if she had to allow subject to stay at her residence.  It was determined that complainant did not have residency and it was a civil issue.  Both parties were advised of the civil process.  All ok.
  • Dispute – Pine Park St.; Subject was involved in a verbal altercation with other subjects in the area. All subjects were gone on arrival. Contact was made with one subject on Lacy St after subjects reported he was going to get a gun. The subject was not armed.
  • Dispute – Davis St./Rivers Of Mercy; Numerous subjects on location arguing and fighting. Several subjects had baseball bats but nobody was struck with the bats. Parties separated.
  • Wanted Person – Pine Park St.  Jerry Pettis was observed in a van in the driveway of the residence.  Mr. Pettis had an active warrant out of Gwinnett County.  The warrant was confirmed.  Mr. Pettis was transported to Walton County Jail.
  • Sexual Assault – Southside MHP; Complainant reported her 3-year-old daughter was inappropriately touched by the neighbors 9 & 10-year-old boys. The complainant denied investigation or prosecution.
  • Missing person – W. Spring St.. Hospital allowed a mental evaluation person to go outside and smoke. Female attempted to leave on foot. She was advised she had to stay on location till the doctor told her she could leave. She returned to her room without incident.
  • Burglary – Clubside Dr. Homeowner stated he thought someone was trying to break into his house. All doors were locked no one on location.
  • Dispute – Piedmont Walton in reference to a patient on location refusing to leave after being discharged.  Subject was advised that he needed to leave the premises.  He was given a ride to Walmart.
