MPD Reports: Attempted armed robbery; 911 called to get girlfriend to leave

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 27 to Sept. 3, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Dispute – S Broad St – Complainant wanted his girlfriend to leave his resident, she did not leave until he called 911. Female was gone when officers arrived.  

Dispute – W. Spring St, Piedmont Walton – in reference to subject in the parking lot causing a scene.  Subject calmed down and ER stated PD was not needed prior to arrival.  

Suspicious Person – N Madison Ave – Complainant stated while walking home subject attempted to rob him at gun point.  Complainant stated he was able to run away from her and call 911.  

Agency assist – Parkway Pl. ACCPD located burning vehicle in the woods registered to this address. Requesting contact with the registered owner or any information on driver.  

Kidnapping – North Broad St., Golden Pantry. Ref to 2 month old taken from running, unlocked vehicle while mother was inside store for 5 min. Mother was taken to MPD with CID. 

Follow up – Tall Oaks West. Ref to above kidnapping case. 2 month old located at home with father,. Child was sleeping and secured in car seat by front door.  

Entering Auto – Magnolia Ter. Complainant reported his locked vehicle entered overnight. Wallet and pistol stolen. No signs of forced entry, report taken.

Dispute – South Broad St., Dollar General. Three subjects were all issued a criminal trepass from this location per owner request due to a verbal argument.

Welfare check – Walton St. Ref to APS checking on a subject and filling paper work out. All was ok.
