MPD Reports: Burglary, shoplifting and damage to property complaints

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 21 – 27, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Damage to Property – 1 Bulldog Drive in reference to a blue passenger car striking the fence on Michael Etchinson Road. Report taken.
  • Traffic Stop – Booth Dr./Morrow St.: vehicle stopped for traffic violations all four occupants fled on foot from the stop. Continuing investigation to identify occupants. Warrant to be Taken.
  • Violent Domestic – Etten Dr.: The complainant said her kids’ father physically assaulted her by slapping her and pulling her hair while holding their kids.  The subject also tried to take the phone away from complainant while she was on the phone with 911.  Warrant to be taken Battery-Family Violence, Cruelty to Children-3rd X2, Interference 911 Call
  • Suspicious Person/Foot Chase/Arrest) Davis St/Harris St: Gray truck w/four white males yelling at a black male. Upon arrival, the subject fled and was apprehended on E. Church St. Subject was identified as Elmer Mathews. He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
  • Juvenile Complaint – S. Madison Ave: Arianna Radford was arrested for disorderly conduct after she was released from the Jail and caused a disturbance in the parking lot while disputing with her mother.
  • Shoplifting – Quality Foods. Manager caught two juvenile stealing candy. Contact was made of the father, who arrived and paid for the items.
  • Shoplifting -Walmart. Amy Rewis was caught skip scanning $151 worth of items. She was arrested and transported. Report taken.
  • Shoplifting – at Quality Foods in Ref:  Gabriel Damons stealing items. Upon officers’ arrival, Ms. Damons resisted by pulling away from officers. She was taken to the ground and arrested. She refused EMS. She was taken to the Jail without incident.
  • Burglary – Carver Pl. Complainant stated she left her back door unlocked and someone broke in. Said person stole her PS4. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – Pine Park St. and Davis St.: Subject was arrested after a very brief attempt to abscond. Milton received citations for disorderly conduct and open container.
  • Unsecured Residence – S. Broad Street: Complainant on scene requesting law enforcement in reference to unsecured home. No signs of forced entry, nothing taken. Residence cleared and all OK. Will extra patrol for the remainder.
