MPD Reports: Car stolen and recovered, slew of entering autos

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 14 – 21, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Civil Issue – S. Madison Ave. – In reference to the complainant giving the other party a Yamaha Banshee rear Shock absorber to repair. The shock absorber was given on 5/13/2020. Complainant advised it was supposed to be ready today (5/14/2020), but that he has not heard from the subject. The subject will apparently not respond to phone calls or answer his door. Report Taken. 
  • Transport – Piedmont Walton in reference to a subject who was brought in by EMS needing a ride home. The subject was identified and a run through GCIC he showed an active warrant for parole. Parole advised to place a hold. He was transported to Walton County Jail.
  • EMS Assist – Wheel House Lane In reference to the homeowner falling down the stairs and cutting her head. It was turned over to EMS.
  • Damage to Property – Wellington Dr. Caller advised that his driver window was smashed. The vehicle was not entered nothing taken.
  • Dispute – S. Madison Ave/E. 5th -Anonymous caller stated two subjects disputing while walking in the area. Contact made with a male and female subject verbally disputing. Not a domestic relationship, situation mediated.
  • Dispute – Alcovy St. Civil dispute over child custody and living conditions, parties were advised how to handle.
  • Prowler – Thompson Ridge Dr. – Homeowner is out of town and advised she saw shadows around her front door from her Ring Doorbell camera. Conducted area check on foot, negative contact.
  • Dispute – Walton Truck Stop. Reference to a dispute over paying for services. Dispute handled privately before arrival.
  • Intoxicated person – Bridgeport Pl. Uber driver advised that the male he had given a ride had passed out in the driveway. Male was assisted inside his home.
  • Suspicious Person – Walmart. In reference to an individual in the store after hours. Upon investigation, the subject had stolen various items of clothing. Warrants taken for shoplifting.
  • Stolen Vehicle – Cherokee Ave. The vehicle was left unlocked and a wallet was stolen. Keys left on another car with doors unlock, stolen, entered on GCIC.
  • Entering Auto – Tall Oaks E. phone in reference to a charging cord taken out of the vehicle. Report declined.
  • Entering Auto – Tall Oaks E. in reference to a Wells Fargo debit card taken and an unknown amount of cash taken. Report taken
  • Entering Auto – Tall Oaks E. in reference to an EBT Card taken and $40.00 cash taken from center console vehicle lef unsecured. Report taken
  • Entering Auto – Tall Oaks E. in reference to a 2009 Silver Honda Accord entered with a check and cellphone stolen out of it.
  • Theft – Perry St. The complainant claimed her daughter stole her debit card. While speaking to the complainant she was mental.
  • Damaged Property – Green St. in reference to complainant reporting someone busting her windshield with a cinder block. Report taken.
  • Entering auto – Tall Oaks W., in reference to the silver vehicle unlocked and keys in the ignition, two pair of shoes taken. Report taken
  • Entering Auto – Tall Oaks in reference to the complainant having her Chevy Cobalt and Dodge pick- up entered and money stolen.
  • Entering Auto – Tall Oaks W. in reference to an unlocked vehicle, nothing taken. Report taken
  • Entering Auto – Tall Oaks W. in reference to a Chrysler 300 being entered, unlocked and nothing taken, Report taken
  • Entering Auto – Tall Oaks in reference to a Dodge Dart being entered. Report declined. Vehicle found opened but nothing taken
  • Entering Auto – Tall Oaks in reference to a complainant having his Gold in color 2013 Cadillac CTS entered.
  • Entering Auto – Tall Oaks – Complainant stated that the vehicle was broken into. Dusted for fingerprint, photos taken, report taken. Owners of the vehicle stated that only approximately $10 was taken in various currency
  • Illegal burn – Maple St, in reference to a subject burning trash on the side of the road. Fire Department notified fire extinguished.
  • Unknown Law – Popeye’s Chicken – E. Spring St. in reference to an irate customer that kicked over a trash can and was banging on the window because the employee would not let them in.
  • Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Wheel House Lane – Stolen vehicle from the previous call was recovered, taken by Taylor Towing to Taylor Towing lot and placed in a secured parking lot.
  • Fight – W. Spring St. – Walmart in reference to two males physically disputing in the pharmacy section.
  • Domestic Dispute – E. 5th St. – Complainant stated that the subject held her down on the floor using his hand. Subject’s hands were around complainants’ throat. The kitchen and complainant’s bedroom were in a mess because of the physical altercation.
