The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 10 – 17, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Suspicious Vehicle – S Madison Ave. Felker Park. Subjects were advised of park hours and sent on their way. One had (2) active warrants. (1) out of GWCSO. GWCSO did not place a hold due to COVID-19. (2) Warrant was out of Miami, Fl for full extradition probation violation for burglary. Radio could not receive conformation.
Missing Person – 818 Masters Dr. In reference to complainant’s husband last seen around 1200 hours today.
Armed Subject – Athens Tech. In reference to a black male, wearing gray joggers, white and gray shoes, and a dark colored shirt, walking from the “Hot Spot” towards Athens Tech waving a gun. Negative contact, the area was checked.
Loitering – W Spring St. Harry’s Marathon. Subjects were advised of loitering and sent on their way without incident.
Suspicious vehicle – Hwy 11 at George Williams Rd. In reference to a tractor trailer failing to maintain lane. Officer attempted a traffic stop and the driver failed to yield until eventually pulling over at DART in Social Circle. TOT Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
Welfare Check – Walker Dr. In reference to a male running a chainsaw in the residence. Subject advised everything was ok. He advised that he cut up some wood earlier and warmed up the chainsaw inside the residence before going outside.
Follow Up – N Broad St. Deer Acres Inn. In reference to the complainant locating her husband’s truck in the parking lot. Related to the missing person call at Masters Dr. Contact was made with husband and he advised that everything was ok.
Dispute – Tall Oaks. In reference to the complainants’ boyfriend taking the complainant’s vehicle without permission. Complainant was advised of remedies/civil process due to the circumstances.
Suspicious Person – E Marable St at Roosevelt St. – Subject was walking home from the brewery. All ok.
Traffic Stop – 138 at Michael Etchison Rd. – Vehicle stopped due to having a headlight out. Driver of the vehicle was cited for DOC and possession of marijuana. Released on citations.
Citizen flag down – South Broad St., MPD. Ref to a fraud ref to a subject stealing from his girlfriend’s sugar daddy. They live in the county, WCSO was advised and was aware.
Dispute – Landers St. Civil dispute between two subjects over living arrangements and property. Allegations of battery made with no evidence. Remedies advised; report made for documentation.
Theft report – New Lacy St. Complainant reports neighborhood juveniles taking items from her yard. in reference to three subjects taking property while she was gone, spoke with their great grandma and they were told to stay away.
EMS assist – HW78 and HW138. in reference to a male truck driver slumped over the wheel, been on location for several hours. Spoke with driver, he was ok, had a tire blow out and is waiting on help. All ok.
Hit-and-run – South Broad St., near Butcher Block. Complainant advised her vehicle was struck by a gray in color passenger car while stopped at a red light. No injuries. Report taken
Dispute – East Spring St., AutoZone. Ref to a customer being hostile towards employees, he was criminally trespassed. Report was made.
Follow up – Cherokee Ave. Attempted contact with second party from above dispute. Subject was on location, refused to sign or take a copy of his Criminal Trespass form but was warned and it was explained to him. Subject very aggressive and angry.
Juvenile Runaway – Forest Ln. In reference to 17-year-old. Complainant advised that her son still has not returned home after waiting 24 hours. GCIC entry form for missing person was completed and subject was added to the system as missing.
