MPD Reports: Couple burning each other’s clothes warned to find other means of conflict resolution

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 26, 2019 to Jan. 2, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – E. Church St.- Subject on location intoxicated. He was given a ride home by a family friend. 
  • Dispute – W. Creek Cir. – Complainant reported that her boyfriend was at their house burning her clothes. The complainant was not on location but the boyfriend was. The boyfriend admitted he was burning complainants’ clothes because she burned his. The boyfriend was advised that he and the complainant needed to learn how to resolve their issues in a different way or the next time the both of them could end up with criminal charges.
  • Firearms – Pinecrest Dr. – Negative contact with any shots in the area.
  • Suspicious Person – Golden Pantry- In reference to a white male on location who the staff did not want on the property. The subject was given a ride to Walmart Distribution Center.
  • Fight – George Walton Homes- Caller stated multiple subjects fighting and shooting guns. Upon Officer’s arrival, nobody was observed in the area.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St.- Piedmont Walton. Subject has been issued a mental evaluation order. Subject was not happy with medical treatment. Options advised.
  • Dispute -PD parking lot. Subject stated that his girlfriend’s ex broke his tail light, and then pointed a gun at him during a verbal dispute. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property – W. Spring St. (Haven Inn) In reference to subject damaging a TV in the room.
  • Damage to Property – S. Broad St. (South Side Park): In reference to a red truck hitting the porch 4 days ago.
  • Traffic Stop – Hwy 138 and W. Spring St. – In reference to hands free violation. Suzanna Barnes arrested for possession of Meth and obstruction.
  • Meet With – S. Broad St. in reference to someone hacking complainants’ social account and threatening to post explicit videos of him if he doesn’t pay money. Report made.
  • Area check -Mears St. Caller stated she heard 6 shots in the area and requested an area check. Heard fireworks in the area was unable to locate where they were going from.
  • Suspicious person – E. Church St. Terrance Brewer was causing a disturbance inside the Marathon and was intoxicated. Terrance was placed under arrest and was Criminally Trespassed from the Marathon.
  • Assault – Booth Dr. Several kids in the area were involved in a fight earlier this date, report was requested by the Aunt.
  • Suspicious vehicles – Russell Dr. in reference to two vehicles doing donuts in the baseball field. Two subjects were placed under arrest for Criminal trespass.
  • Dispute – GW Carver Dr. Verbal dispute over a lost cell phone in the road way. Phone was located all okay.
