MPD Reports: Customer at Wendy’s calls 911 to report being cut off while in line

The City of Monroe Police reported the following incidents for the period July 30 to Aug. 3, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Other Law – Perry Street / Irving Street: in reference to a subject attempting to run workers off from surveying for new city water line. All ok. 

Entering Auto – Bold spring Ave. – In reference to a white Jeep had change taken out and a knife was left open on the front passenger seat. Report taken. 

Suspicious person – North Broad in reference to a male subject sleeping in the parking lot in a truck for a week. The subject was criminal trespassed from the property for 5 years. 

Traffic Stop/Arrest – Davis St: In reference to a female subject driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala with expired tag / Licenses being suspended. Report made. 

Entering Auto – East Marable St- Subject reported his vehicle was broken into on the 24th of July. Report taken. 

Transport – Alcovy St. (Probation Office)- In reference to the probation office having one in custody. Subject was transported to jail and released to jail staff. 

Scam – Baker Street: In reference to being scammed out of $300 dollars. Remedies given. Report made. 

Juvenile Complaint – Felker Park: In reference to a group of juveniles throwing trash out of the trash can. Complainant wanted Law Enforcement to be aware of it. 

Other Law – North Broad Street in reference to a male subject needs help changing his diaper. Turned over to EMS 

Hit-n-Run – West Spring Street (Wal-Mart): In reference to employee’s vehicle struck while parked and unoccupied in parking lot. 

Wanted Person – Alcovy Street at probation office in reference to VOP warrant for a named subject. 

Theft – Green Street: In reference to complainant stating that subject took his Debt Card and money. Report Made. 

Child Molestation – Spoke with a complainant who requested to remain anonymous in reference to a child molestation. Report taken. 

Stolen Vehicle Report – S. Broad St. Complainant wanted to report her granddaughter’s car was stolen. Complainant was advised since her granddaughter was the owner of the car, she had to file the report. 

Dispute – Bridge Port Ln. – In reference to the landlord wanting to enter a rental to do an inspection of the house but the renter would not let them in. The landlord was advised that we could not force the renter to allow them in. 

Domestic Dispute – Towler Street. Reference to a male and female disputing over one attempting to leave the residence. Both parties advised no physical altercation took place. Parties agreed to separate. All ok 

Agency Assist – Douglas St. Assist DFACS with removal of two juveniles from residence. They were taken into custody without incident. 

Dispute – Wendys. Caller was cut off in line and called 911 to complain on another driver. All ok. 

Dispute – Lacy St. Female subject fighting with her father. She shoved him down and left on foot. She was taken into custody later at Piedmont Walton for Simple Battery FV. 

Citizen Assist – Tall Oaks Ln. Caller was locked out her house. Owner responded. All ok. 

Suspicious Vehicle -S. Madison & Stokes St.Reference to a subject on a motorcycle with no lights, driving on the wrong side of the road in the area of Pine Park. He cited for: No motorcycle license, No registration, Brake Light requirements, Driving on the wrong side of roadway. Vehicle towed by Taylors 

Disturbing the Peace – Arnold Pointe. In reference to a raucous crowd at the playground. No one on location upon officer arrival. 

Dispute – Tanglewood Ln. In reference to complainant arguing with her daughter. Civil remedies advised. 

Suspicious Person – Washington St. & Wayne St. in reference to two black teens on bikes. Patrolled the area with no contact. 

Suspicious Person – Hammock Park. Reference to a subject on location after hours. The subject found to have active warrants out of Athens-Clarke. Warrants valid no hold requested so he was sent on way. 

EMS Assist – Deer Acres Inn. Reference to gaining access to complainants. Complainant non-ambulatory and requesting transport to Piedmont Walton. Turned over to EMS. 

Entering Auto – Plaza Drive; Unlocked Ford Fiesta entered overnight. Cigarette lighter and cigarette stolen. Report taken. 

Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 & MLK Jr. Blvd. Subject. stopped for turning left out of Walmart and arrested for driving with a suspended license. Fingerprinted and released on citations. 

Entering auto – Plaza Dr. in reference to subjects’ car rummaged through and $10.00 stolen. Report was made. 

Entering auto – Ridge Rd. Unlocked Nissan Versa entered. $5 taken and flashlight left behind. Report taken. 

Burglary in progress – Hickory Dr. All ok, subject was grandson and had permission to enter/be at residence. 

Juvenile complaint – Chestnut Ln. Ref to two juveniles on dirt bikes causing a disturbance. Juveniles located at 512 Chestnut and were not seen in the roadway. 

Fraud – East Washington St. Complainant stated her social security number was used by her ex to obtain unemployment benefits. Report taken. 

Fraud – South Broad St. MPD. Caller not on location, possibly at Social Circle PD. 

Agency – Baker St. DFACS requested officers check status of child after parents not picking up telephone. No one on location.
