MPD Reports: Damage to property likely large rodent, not a burglar

The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 1 – 7, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Vehicle, Tractor Supply, reference to a car almost striking the person of the complainant.  The complainant advised she spoke with the driver and did not want to make a report. All ok.
  • Burglary Report, Kelton Rd., the complainant advised his unlocked residence was entered and a note from named subject was left.  Nothing was reported to be missing.
  • Counterfeit Money, East Church St., reference to possible counterfeit money. 100 Bill confirmed to be legitimate.
  • Unknown Law, New Lacy St., complainant requesting extra patrol due to kids walking in the neighborhood.
  • Juvenile Complainant, Wheelhouse Lane, reference to complainant saying kids are repeatedly causing trouble and throwing things at his house. Asked about options with management and kids.
  • Theft, Landers St., reference to a named subject taking items and pawning them which were located on a vehicle belonging to the complainant.
  • FIT assist, West Spring St., Wal-Mart. Felisha Smith arrested for driving with a suspended license, felony shoplifting, criminal trespass, and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Vehicle impounded by towing co.
  • Suspicious Person, Walton Rd., Extra patrol request due to a Korean female walking through her back yard.
  • Damage to Property, Old Mill Run, reference to gray Honda Accord striking exposed sewer drain and deploying airbags. Report taken.
  • Dispute, Stokes St., reference to a named subject taking a vehicle belonging to him and complainant. The complainant was advised of civil options.
  • Dispute, East Church St., Chevron. – Dispute over a cell phone.  The complainant was gone prior to officer’s arrival.
  • Damage to Property, Baron Dr., reference to mailbox belonging to complainant knocked over by a possible silver vehicle.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, East Marable St., in reference to red truck unable to maintain lane. Area checked and vehicle matching located parked and unoccupied. All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Monroe Country Club.  Two vehicles parked in the lower right parking lot.  Unoccupied. Area checked on foot and everything appeared to be all ok.
  • Domestic, East Spring St., Monroe Motor Inn room. A verbal argument between male and female subjects. Both parties advised they were ok.
  • Found Property, South Broad St., Wells Fargo, reference to a blue bag with a powder substance in front of the ATM. Item was located and disposed of. Ok.
  • Burglary Report, South Broad St., Gift Shop. The complainant stated that she opened her shop and found items in the store knocked over and broken. No evidence of a burglary. Possibly a large rodent in the building that knocked over the items. Nothing was missing. Report taken,
  • Shoplifting, W Spring St., Quality Foods, reference to a suspect leaving without paying for Mac & Cheese. She was arrested for shoplifting and transported to MPD to be fingerprinted and was released on a copy of the citation. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St., Cricket Wireless, reference to a white male harassing an employee. Male was autistic and wanted his phone. He left the store in the custody of his father. All ok.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, complainant stated that she brought named subject to the hospital for a mental health evaluation in reference to him making suicide threats. He would not cooperate and go into the hospital. Everything was okay upon arrival.
  • Theft, Magnolia St., reference to a check taken out of the mailbox. Complainant believes a B/M in a black van may have stolen his social security check out of his mailbox this date around 1300 hours. Remedies were advised. Report taken.
  • Theft Report, West Spring St., Piedmont Hospital in reference complainant needing to file a report. The incident occurred in the county and was turned over to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Damage to Property, Unisia Dr., Hitachi. Made contact with complaiThe complainantt advised when she got off work at 1300 hours, she noticed scratches all over her vehicle. No witnesses to the incident. A report to be taken. Ok.
  • EMS Assist, Davis St., reference to male subject lying on the ground asking for help. Male subject was intoxicated and stated he fell down. Male subject stated he was not injured and declined EMS. Everything on location ok.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Walmart, reference to Bridgette Perdichizzi on location skip scanning items. She was placed under arrest and transported to MPD to be fingerprinted. Bridgette was then transported to the Walton County Jail and turned over to the Jail staff without incident. Warrant TBT. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St., Piedmont Hospital, reference to subject on location, asleep, after being discharged. Subject was given a ride to Walton 24 gym.
  • Traffic Stop on Hammond Dr., Russell Dr. Officer observed a vehicle on East Marable St bearing tag #. GCIC returned showed that the license of the registered owner was suspended. Officer observed that the driver was the registered owner. A stop was conducted, and the subject was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license. He was transported and fingerprinted at MPD and was released on a copy of the citation.
  • Traffic Stop, Hwy 78 EB/Hwy 11. Vehicle stopped for expired tag. Passenger, Jamare Neverns, had warrants out of Loganville PD (FTA) and Athens-Clarke County (VOP). He was taken to the Walton County Jail. The driver was released on a copy of the citation.
  • Harassment, Mill Stone Bluff. mother stated that a 15-year-old named male has been posting pictures of her daughter on Instagram and consistently sending her emails and writing notes. She said he also threatened to kill his own cousin over her daughter. Her daughter stated that she did not give the male permission to post her pictures and the two were not together. Mother was advised of remedies. Report taken upon request.
  • Dispute, Old Mill Point, mother stated her son, called the police because she administered corporal punishment to him for punching his handicapped brother. Mother wanted officers to take her son. She was advised of remedies. A juvenile complaint was filed upon request.
  • Dispute, Stokes St., reference to male and female subjects having a disagreement about shared property. Situation was mediated. All ok.
  • Dispute, South Madison Ave., Walton County Sheriff’s Office, reference to complainant’s grandson not paying him rent money. Complainant was advised of remedies.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., Walgreens, reference subjects disputing over not stopping for a funeral procession. All parties were gone upon the officer’s arrival.
  • Entering Auto, Etten Dr., reference to complainant reporting his red Dodge truck was broken into. There was a DeWalt miter box stolen from the bed of the truck and the passenger window was busted out. The CD player was pull from the truck but was dropped on the ground. No other items were taken from the vehicle. Report taken.
  • Traffic Stop, West Spring St./Carwood Dr. Officer received another call-in reference to the dispute on Stokes St. Subjects inside the car advised named subject had returned and got drugs from where he had hidden it at the house. Officer located and stopped the vehicle due to the complaint. After speaking with the driver, a small quantity of marijuana was located. Citations were issued.
  • Harassment, Breedlove Dr., Ridgeview, reference to complainant receiving threats from her ex-boyfriend back in December of last year. Complainant was advised of the remedies and to follow up with WCSO due to living in Good Hope and having reported to them in the past.
  • Lost Item, MLK BLVD., Applebee’s, reference to complainant being on location last date and leaving her wallet. After reviewing the footage, it was determined that the server took the wallet. After confronting the server, she advised she did take the wallet and threw it away in the trash can at her residence. Officer found the wallet in the trash can on W Creek Cir. After returning all of the property to complainant she declined a report and prosecution
  • Dispute, East Church St., Chevron, reference to a customer disputing over gas. Store employee stated a male came into the store yelling at him about not receiving gas he paid for. Male was GOA. All ok.
  • Attempted Robbery, Southside Mobile Home Park. Complainant stated that a W/M jumped out of a dark green passenger car and came at him with a gun demanding for his money, phone, and metal detector. Complainant stated he ran and the male chased him. The W/M did not get any property and left in the same vehicle that was also occupied by three B/Ms. He said the vehicle then pulled into the driveway on South Broad St, picked someone up, and left. Officers made contact with male and female at the residence at South Broad Street. A vehicle matching the description was found on location which was identified by the victim. Officers made contact with male and female on location. Female stated she saw the male running but there was no vehicle and no one chasing him. Male advised the vehicle was not drivable and had not moved in a week. The hood was cold. Report taken.
  • Harassment, South Madison Ave., Walton County Sheriff’s Office, reference to complainant reporting named male subject harassing him. Report taken.
  • Traffic Stop, East Church St., female driver drove into oncoming traffic, almost hitting my patrol car head on.  She was issued citations and her vehicle was impounded for no insurance.
  • Medical Assist, Breedlove Dr., reference to a patient having a medical event and Ridgeview refusing to allow EMS to transport the patient.  Private EMS called by Ridgeview and after hours long wait, they arrived to transport the patient. Report made.
