MPD Reports: Death investigation, juvenile and animal complaints and slew of domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 1 – 7, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Damage to Property, West Spring St., reference to complainant wanting to file a report for cracks on her windshield that happened on 2/1/2019. Upon speaking with the complainant, she grew upset and requested to speak with a supervisor.
  • Death Investigation, Vine St., met with the complainant. She stated she came by to check on her brother and found him unresponsive and called 911. Report Taken
  • Damage to Property, Gatewood Way, reference to complainant needing a report due to his hood flying open while his vehicle was in motion and damaging his windshield. Report taken.
  •  Meet With, South Madison Ave., the complainant stated he found two friendly dogs and animal control will not take them due to his age. He was advised of remedies.
  •  Damage to Property, Highway 138, Great Oaks, reference to someone striking complainant’s parked vehicle. Report taken.
  • Damage to property, Lobby report, the complainant reported damage to his truck that occurred in the Walmart parking lot on 01/31/2019.
  • Agency Assist, West Spring St., reference to complainant becoming unresponsive after leaving dialysis. The complainant was ok upon officer’s arrival and was turned over to EMS.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Baron Dr., complainant stated that kids of the neighborhood are throwing trash in her yard. She was advised of the civil process.
  • Theft, Pannell Rd., reference to complainant wanting a report because someone took her bug spray. Report taken
  • Dispute, Douglas St., complainant stated that she was walking to her friend’s house when someone came up behind her and knocked her out. She did not see the person, or any vehicle did not see where they came from or went.
  • Juvenile Complaint, reference to mother requesting a report due to her son acting out. Report taken
  • Follow up, Douglas St., the complainant stated her boyfriend told her that he thinks his sister’s ex, was the one that hit her. They requested an area check, had no contact.
  • Dispute, Spruce Lane an unknown Caller advised female was arguing in the garage. Officers Made Contact with female and her boyfriend both parties advised all ok that they were just talking loudly.
  • Dispute at Walton Co Jail, on location stated that the other day her and her boyfriend Willy Tarpkins were in a physical dispute. Contact was made with Willy who had active warrants out of Walton County. He was placed under arrest.
  • Dispute, Monroe Motor Inn, complainant advised that a named male subject (Two Separate Rooms) threatened to beat him up. Named subject advised complainant tried to watch his girlfriend change her clothes. Subjects were advised to go to their separate rooms and stay away from each other.
  • Suspicious person, McDaniel St., Caller stated that someone had opened his garage. He did not see anyone or any vehicles. Units conducted an area check with no contact.
  • Dispute, Ridge Rd., two subjects disputing over cell phone. Parties separated, report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, Walton Rd., reference to two people walking with flashlights around a vacant property. Made contact with a female subject who advised it was her mother’s house all ok.
  • Traffic Stop, Breedlove/Alcovy. Milton Young was stopped for a traffic violation. Milton Fled the stop on foot warrants to be taken for Obstruction, Traffic offenses, and Possession of Cocaine.
  • 911 Hang Up, Sweetgum Dr., reference to grandmother calling because her grandchildren were arguing. Both grandchildren were gone when officers arrived.
  • Mental Evaluation, Ridgeview, reference to complainant scratching herself. She was transported to Piedmont for a voluntary evaluation.
  • Theft Report, Parkway Place, complainant requesting extra patrol of the area in reference to package missing. Unsure if delivered or stolen. Report denied.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Wells Fargo, the anonymous complainant stated a passenger vehicle was parked under the drive-thru of Wells Fargo. Contact made with the vehicle which was unoccupied, Contact made with the owner, who works as a janitor for Wells Fargo, all okay.
  • Warrant Service, Conestoga mobile homes. Travis Peters was seen driving a vehicle on Vine St. Officer had knowledge that Travis had active warrants. Travis was stopped and arrested without incident.
  • Warrant Service, Plaza Dr., reference to arresting Ian Rathbone on an Aggravated Assault Warrant.
  • Dispute, Armistead Circle, two subjects in a verbal dispute about each other feeling disrespected. Situation mediated, report taken
  • Meet With, North Madison Ave., reference to complainant wanting to speak to the police all ok.
  • Traffic Stop, S Broad St./Vine St., Tressea Haddix was stopped for traffic violations. Tressea had an active warrant out of Stone Mountain Police. She was placed under arrest without incident.
  • Traffic Stop, Milledge Ave/East Washington St., Subject arrested for driving while license suspended and tail light requirements. He was released on copy of citations after being fingerprinted.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Breedlove Dr., staff called, reference to an unknown male subject sleeping in his truck. Contact made with named male subject, he was checked and advised he was falling asleep while driving and so he stopped for a small nap. Male subject was sent on his way.
  • Civil Matter, Ridge Rd., two subjects’ reference to a female having questions about the eviction process.
  • Suspicious Person, North Broad St., anonymous complainant stated a black male subject was stumbling in the roadway. Negative contact.
  • Traffic Stop, North Broad St/Sorrell St -Deshajuan Lackey arrested for Lawrenceville Warrants, local charges for driving while suspended, possession of schedule III, and tampering with evidence.
  • Hit-and-Run private property, South Broad St., met complainant, he stated an older gentleman back into his vehicle and then left the scene. He just wanted the incident to be documented. Report Taken.
  • Welfare Check, South Broad St., flagged down, complainant advised white male with red hat asking for monies in the parking lot. Negative Contact.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest, North Broad St./Mayfield Dr., Karina Davis arrested Winder warrant and cited on city ordinance for possession less than an ounce. Transported to Windstream and turned over to Winder PD.
  • Damage to property, W. Spring St., (Home Depot) Thomas Whitley reported damage to his vehicle that occurred while he was inside the store.
  • Theft Report, South Broad St., reference to juveniles taking a bike that belongs to complainant nephew. Bike was returned, nothing further.
  • Check area, West Vine St., two subjects were complaining out loud about having to clean their residence. No evidence or probable cause to believe that a crime had occurred. Called in by third party by someone who heard yelling.
  • Civil Issue, Perry St., Linda Durvin reported loaning money to someone who hasn’t paid her back. Linda was arrested for outstanding warrants out of WCSO and was transported and released to the Jail.
  • Meet in Person, West Creek Cir., complainant wanted to know what steps to take against her ex-roommate. The complainant was advised of the Civil Process. All ok.
