MPD Reports: Discipline issues with juveniles, 9, 13 and older teens; Mental health issue

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 13 – 20, 2020. Due to the length, this report was split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Juvenile Complaint – S. Broad St; 9-year-old juvenile talked to about listening to his grandmother. 
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Felker Park. 17-year-old male and 16-year-old female subjects were discovered in the park after hours without clothing on. Subjects parents responded and juveniles were turned over to parents. Report taken.
  • Traffic Stop – Pinecrest and West Spring Street. Joseph Hodge fingerprinted and released for no insurance on vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
  • Suspicious Person – Walmart – Male sitting by the Redbox on his phone. The subject was asked why he was there and he said he was charging his phone. He was asked to leave.
  • Theft Report – W. Washington St. In reference to an electric bike being stolen from the residence. Report taken.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St; Waffle House. Subject on location attempting to go home. WCSO refused to give subject a ride home or allow MPD to give him a ride home. Subjects’ mother arrived on scene to take him home.
  • Mental Patient – S. Broad St. Complainant wanted to report people running through her walls. Situation mediated.
  • Damage to Property – Felker Park, in reference to two football goal post bent, report taken.
  • Threats – S. Broad St., Southside MHP, in reference to two subjects disputing over money. One subject was gone on arrival.
  • Dispute – Nowell St. Ref to a family disputing about subject moving out. Parties separated, all ok.
  • Burglary in progress – Atha St. Reference to complainant stating someone entered the residence causing her to flee. Subject was identified as her roommate who was picking up property. No burglary occurred.
  • Dispute – Alcovy St. in reference to complainant showing property to two tenants and having subject verbally disputing with the tenants.
  • Shoplifting – S. Broad St., Hodge Podge. in reference to suspected shoplifting. We checked the suspects and bathroom with negative findings.
  • Wanted Person – Albany Ga- Subject was picked up by Officer due to having a violation of probation warrant out of City of Monroe.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Magnolia Terrace. In reference to mother advised her 13-year-old son will not follow her rules in her household. Situation mediated.
  • Follow Up – Magnolia Terrace. In reference to 13-year-old juvenile wanted to speak to an officer about the previous incident. All ok
  • Traffic Stop – Booth Dr. & Oak St. vehicle towed due to no insurance.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St; Waffle House. In reference to a subject on location causing a disturbance. He was criminal trespassed from Waffle House for a year and given a ride home.
