MPD Reports: Domestic disputes, entering auto and road rage

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 21 – 28, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Milledge Ave. – Complainant advised a verbal dispute between two subjects over one subject dropping off their juveniles at this location. Complainant advised there is a Temporary Protection Order against the subject. No TPO order appeared active. Both parties involved were gone when officers arrived. The complainant was advised of the civil process. 
  • Traffic Stop – Davis St. @ Harris St.- Officer observed a vehicle failing to maintain lane. During the stop, it was determined that the driver was under the influence. He was taken into custody, fingerprinted and released to a sober driver. He was cited for failure to maintain lane and DUI.
  • Dispute – MLK- Applebee’s. – Complainant upset that his daughter was choking on food and Applebee’s staff failed to help. The complainant was advised it was not the staff’s responsibility and was advised of future options.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Davis St. – Complainant advised of a SUV driven by a subject named Chris was harassing her. Upon officer arrival, no SUV observed in the area. The complainant advised that they did not want to meet with an officer. All appeared ok.
  • Firearms – Springdale Rd. – Multiple shots heard in the area. Area checked, all ok
  • Fight – Lacy St. – Complainant advised a large crowd was fighting each other. Complainant also advised one of the subjects was armed with a knife. Everyone on the scene or in the immediate area advised they was no fighting and did not know who was fighting.
  • Firearms – Atha St. – Area checked with negative contact. Firearms – Mill Stone Bluff. – Area checked with negative contact.
  • Traffic Stop – E. Spring St. @ Felker St. – Vehicle was stopped for an out tag light. GCIC inquiry was performed on the driver. The inquiry revealed that she had a Full Extradition warrant for Aggravated Child Abuse out of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. She was subsequently arrested. The warrant was confirmed and a hold was placed. She was then transported to and lodged in the Walton County Jail.
  • Dispute – Harris St. – A verbal dispute between two subjects. The female subject advised she does not like it when male the subject drinks. The female subject advised everything was ok and no physical altercation took place. The male subject was gone upon officer arrival.
  • Dispute – W. Spring – Subject is possibly mentally ill and has previous narcotic abuse history. The subject was advised that he had to leave the hospital due to him being discharged. The subject eventually complied and left.
  • Disturbing the Peace – New Lacy St. Complainant advised they could hear screaming and possibly a fight in progress. No fight occurred. Subjects advised they were celebrating a graduation. Subjects were advised to keep the noise down. All ok
  • Stolen Vehicle – Douglas St. in reference to a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe stolen from this location this date. Report was made, and GCIC entry form was completed and turned into MPD.
  • Entering Auto – 4th St. in reference to both vehicles being broken into last date between 00:00 and 10:30 AM this date. One pack of cigarettes were taken. Report taken.
  • Entering Auto – Jessica Way. Reference a 2010 Mazda entered overnight. Approximately $10 missing. Report Taken
  • Damage to Property – Amber Trail. in reference to the neighbor backing into their car. They exchanged all information for insurance purposes. Case number is given and report made.
  • Suspicious Person – W. Creek Circle. Four individuals in a white truck and a black truck threw water balloons at residents sitting on the porch.
  • Road Rage -W. Fambrough & Spring St. juveniles riding dirt bikes in roadway reported a red passenger car chasing them. no contact with a passenger car.
