The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 24 – Oct. 1, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Harassment – King Street; In reference to subject making threats to hurt two subjects. Report made.
Dispute – Perry Street: In reference to getting kicked out by the complainant’s mother with her juvenile out of the residence. Eviction process was explained to both parties left voluntarily.
Theft – E Church St – In reference to a subject taking money and banking cards out of wallet belonging to complainant. Report taken.
Traffic Offense – S Broad & Southside – reference to a green Mazda SUV stopped for operating without a license plate. Further investigation led to the arrest of a subject for warrants out of Newton county. A probable Cause search of the vehicle led to charges being pressed for Possession of Schedule II Methamphetamine and Possession of Schedule I Ecstasy.
Shoplifting – Walmart – Employee was found to be stealing as the store was getting ready to open. Subject was arrested, fingerprinted and released on citation.
Theft report – West Spring St., Home Depot. Ref to a ladder taken off truck in the parking lot. complainant, decided to file a report.
Welfare check – Lopez Ln. Complainant reported subject came to her house unannounced and uninvited. She requested him to be criminally trespassed and was advised of Temporary Protection Order remedies.
Found Property – East Church St. and Lumpkin St. Ref to complainant reported finding her bike at Hammock Park. Report requested.
Theft report – South Broad St., Chevron. Ref to a chainsaw taken out of a truck bed during fueling.
Theft Report – South Broad Street (Chevron). In reference to a theft of a chainsaw from the bed of the complainants’ truck while he was inside the store. Camera footage viewed. Report taken.
Juvenile Problem – Double Springs Church Dr; Monroe Area High School. The guardian of the juvenile and juvenile were both advised of remedies. The juvenile went back to school at Foot Hills. All ok
Juvenile Problem – East Tall Oaks Drive. In reference to children playing on the basketball goal using foul language. Officer spoke with juveniles. All ok.
Suspicious Vehicle – Thompson Ridge Dr. Verbal warning issued for laying drag/donuts in the cul-de-sac.
Civil Issue – Plaza Drive – In reference to subject taking a cell phone belonging to complainant. The cell phone was returned. Report taken.
Dispute – Cook Place – In reference to a verbal dispute between two subjects. Complainant was worried something would happen due to subject being intoxicated. subject left the residence shortly after Officers left the scene.
Dispute – Nowell Street – Third party caller advising a dispute had taken place between her daughter and another subject. Contact was made with a female in the area who advised all was ok.
Suspicious Person – North Madison – Officer observed a male leaving the scene of a possible entering auto. It was determined that the male did enter the vehicle and took $90. The male was last seen running towards East Marable. He was a black male in a white shirt.
