The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 29 – Nov. 4, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Traffic Offense – South Madison Ave & E Spring St – Reference to a white Chevrolet truck stopped for driving without headlights. Further investigation led to the arrest of the driver for driving on a suspended license. Walton County Sheriff’s Office denied intake. The subject was released on copy of citation.
Enter Auto – Sorrells St Complainant observing two subjects parking in front of his residence and attempting to enter one of his vehicles. Subjects fled in a blue in color sedan. Area was checked and negative contact was made with the blue vehicle.
Comments: Contact made with three males walking Sorrells Street to their vehicle parked at the Hotspot at 03:00 hours. Subjects and vehicle documented.
Theft Report – Huddle House In reference to a customer leaving and only paying only a part of their tab; another customer covered the difference, all ok.
Burglary – Edwards St. Complainant flagging officer down to report a burglary that had just occurred. He stated he came home and a man in a dark hoodie ran out the back door. Area searched with negative contact. Report taken.
Drugs – Piedmont Walton – female patient claimed she was drugged at her residence on Elm Dr.
Suspicious person – Caller, advised a b/m came by his house knocking on his door and window early this AM saying he just been released from the hospital. Caller did not let him in. Suspicious male left without incident.
Theft Report – Dollar tree. Complainant reported that her purse was stolen. She left it in her buggy after loading the items she purchased.
Stolen Vehicle – South Madison Ave: Complainant stated her son’s truck was stolen. He was not on scene and unable to provide necessary information to report the vehicle stolen. He was advised to meet in person and has not done so.
Missing Juvenile – Downtown. -Complainant stated she lost contact with her juvenile son. Officers observed the juvenile walking North on Hwy 11. Contact was made with juvenile and he was reunited with his mother.
EMS Assist – Maple Way: Subject falling on the ground or into a tree and receiving cuts and scrapes.
Damage to Property – Heritage Ridge Dr. Complainant reported that his back windshield was damaged by a tree service. I informed him of a civil matter.
Suspicious Person – South Broad Street in reference male subject asking for money. Subject was criminal trespassed for three years.
Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 at Unisia Dr Subject stopped for speeding and driving with no valid license. She was arrested and transported to the PD where she was fingerprinted and released on copy of citation.
Arrest – W Spring St. Piedmont Walton. – In reference to a subject having active warrants. He was arrested and taken to jail.
Prowler – Cloverdale Dr. Complainant advising that there is a male in their closet holding a cat. Residence was cleared with negative contact with male or cat.
Dispute – Maple St. complainant and her boyfriend having a verbal dispute. Remedies were advised, parties were separated without incident. All ok.
Burglary – Plaza complainant returning home and finding their door kicked in.
Missing Person – S Broad St. MPD Complainant calling from Michigan stating she and her family have not been able to make contact her daughter since June 8th and believes she is in Monroe, GA.
Suspicious Vehicle) at Deer Acres Inn. – In reference to a vehicle parked in the right turning lane to Deer Acres Inn. The driver pulled over to use his phone; he was advised that he needed to be legally parked to use phone, all ok.
Suspicious Vehicle – E Marable St. Mathews Park. – In reference to Willie being in the park after hours. He was advised park hours, all ok.
