The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 30 – Aug. 3, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Theft Report – Meadow Walk Drive -In reference to an elderly lady thinks her daughter that has power of attorney of her mother is stealing her social Security check.
Dispute – West Spring Street (Piedmont Walton Hospital): In reference to patient refusing to leave after being discharged. Contact was made with patients’ wife. She is on her way to pick him up.
Suspicious Person – The Market @North Madison -Employee stated a white female subject was acting suspicious looking in vehicles, and loitering. Conducted area check with negative contact.
Entering Auto – North Broad Street -Complainant reported his pick-up truck was entered sometime over the weekend and a FN 9mm pistol was stolen. Awaiting serial number information for GCIC, report taken.
Damage to Property – Tall Oaks E. Complainant stated she had hit a deer in January of this year and believed the damage had gotten worse. Report taken.
Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 78 & Mt. Vernon. Reference to a blue BMW SUV unable to maintain lane. Contact made with the driver. Further investigation led to her arrest for DUI- Alcohol. She was released on citation
Juvenile Complaint – Atha St. Mother advised her daughter was trying to run away. Made contact with child and mother and advised them how to handle.
Dispute – Sporty Ln. Complainant arguing with female regarding her retrieving property from the residence. Situation mediated.
Juvenile Complaint – Felker Park. Reference to report of juveniles left unattended at playground. On arrival mother of juveniles was on location. All ok.
Dispute – Pizza Hut; Female subject was criminally trespassed from the restaurant after a dispute with management.
Threats – Cedar Ln. Caller stated she made a post about black lives matter and now random people were saying that they would come to her house. She was advised how to handle.
Entering Auto – 6th St. Complainant stated there was an active entering auto at his house. Area searched with negative contact. Ongoing civil issue between two subjects.
Suspicious Person – Irving St,; A subject was cited for disorderly after giving a false name due to having warrants out of Walton County Sheriff’s Office. WCSO confirmed the warrants but refused to place a hold due to COVID protocol.
Suspicious Person – Green St. Made contact with a subject who was walking in the area. He had warrants for his arrest but WCSO refused to place a hold.
Civil Issue – Towler St. Subject having civil issues with his landlord. Remedies advised.
Foot Patrol – Downtown. While on foot patrol, officers found a backpack and various items scattered on the ground behind St. Albans Episcopal. Contact was made with the owner at N. Broad who stated that the bag had been taken on Sunday night and was never reported.
Traffic Stop – Poplar Ct. & E. Church St.; A subject was cited for suspended registration. Vehicle was towed from the scene by Taylors.
Entering auto – Carwood Dr. Citizen flag down during area check. Complainant reported someone attempted to break into her vehicles on Monday night and that person succeeded in entering her parent’s vehicles at 120 Carwood Dr. Video obtained of the incident was collected for evidence. Report taken.
Dispute – Booth Dr. Subject and her boyfriend got into a verbal argument that was advised by the complainant to have gotten physical. Report taken
Entering auto – Felker St. Subject reported her unlocked vehicle entered and a CD case stolen.
Hit-and-run – HW11 and West Spring St. Passenger car and white commercial vehicle. Turned over to GSP915 due to all units busy on above call.
Dispute – North Midland Ave. Complainant wanted her ex-husband out of the residence. They share a bedroom and were advised of civil remedies.
Welfare check – South Madison Ave. Assisted officer with a Welfare Check on behalf of DFCS.
Threats – McDaniel St. Complainant reports blocked caller making threats and harassing her, report taken.
Theft report – Creek View Ct. mental patient) advising she is missing mail. Report has already been made, as well as her speaking with the post office.
Shoplifting – West Spring St., Walmart. Ref to two females in loss prevention office. Juvenile released to parent and Released on citation after being fingerprinted.
Entering auto – Colquitt St. Unlocked vehicle entered. Nothing taken.
Juvenile Compliant – S Broad St. In reference to damage to complainant’s grandson’s bike and another juvenile pulling out a shotgun on another juvenile. Due to different testimonies and insufficient probable cause DJJ was not contacted. Report taken
Dispute – Michael Cir. Civil dispute that occurred in the county at Ashley Ct. Advised complainant to contact WCSO.
Shoplifting – W Spring St. Walmart. Stephanie Holloway was caught skip scanning $58 worth of merchandise. She was taken into custody and released on a copy of citation.
Suspicious Vehicle – E Spring St. Security Storage. In reference to A black truck on location after hours. Contact made with a subject. Further investigation led to his arrest for Possession of Schedule II and Possession of drug related objects.
Suspicious Person – South Broad / Court Street. While on bike patrol Officers observed a male walking. Due to the number of entering autos he was stopped and identified. He had an active warrant out of Pardon and Parole. He was taken into custody and transported to the jail.
Dispute – Plaza Trce. Contact made with subject who stated his ex-girlfriend slashed a tire on his car and fled the scene. Report taken.
Welfare Check – Tanglewood Dr. Report of young juvenile female walking the streets alone. Contact made with juvenile who advised she was running away from home. Contact was made with the juvenile’s mother at Tanlgewood Dr. Juvenile safely returned home. Report taken.
Accident – Hwy 78 at Edmondson Rd. In reference to vehicle in a ditch. Contact made with Driver, She denied EMS. Further investigation led to her arrest for DUI-Alcohol. Released on citation.
