MPD Reports: Family dispute over life insurance, suicide threat over phone dispute

City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 9 – 16, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • 911 Hang up – E. Washington St. In reference to someone requesting police assistance. A maintenance worker on the scene stated someone sped off in a gold Toyota that was possibly related. Area checked with negative contact 
  • Dispute – Booth Dr. In reference to the complainant and his family disputing over the life insurance of a loved one that is on her death bed. The situation was mediated. All ok.
  • Theft – W. Spring St., Diva Nails. In reference to a Female employee reporting her iPhone XR was taken from the business around 18:45 hours on Saturday. The Phone was mapped to a location in the county. Report taken.
  • Suicide Threats/Dispute – Marable Lane. In reference to two subjects disputing over a cell phone. The female subject made the statement she was going to kill herself during the dispute. She advised she only said it to upset the male subject. She advised that she has no intention to harm herself. The situation was mediated and parties were separated. Report taken.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Stokes St. In reference to mothers’ son being disobedient. Situation mediated. Mother was advised of remedies. All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – MLK Jr. Blvd., Tractor Supply. In reference to two teenage subjects hanging out in their vehicle. They were advised to go home. All ok.
  • Other Law – W. Spring St., Piedmont Walton. In reference to 7-year0old being on location for a head injury. His mother became hostile towards the ER staff when they advised that the Juvenile needed to be transported to another hospital for treatment. Crystal Davis left the hospital possibly in a white Ford Edge with her son. An area check was conducted for the vehicle with negative contact. WCSO was advised due to the mother’s address being in the county.
  • Suspicious Person – Walker Dr. In reference to a subject being in the roadway and chasing cars when they pass. He was transported to Piedmont Walton. All ok.
  • EMS Assist – Pine Cir. In reference to EMS not being able to make entry into the residence. Call canceled by EMS.
  • Stolen Vehicle/Civil Matter – Shamrock Dr. In reference to complainant reporting her white Toyota 4Runner stolen by a named subject. Complainant allows the subject to drive the vehicle on a regular basis and was advised that the situation is a civil matter.
  • 911 Hang Up – Perry St. In reference to complainant verbally disputing with her boyfriend. She advised that he had cheated on her and she wanted him to leave the residence. She stated he refused to leave until she called 911. The boyfriend was gone on arrival. Complainant advised that all was ok.
  • Other Law – W. Spring St., Piedmont Walton. In reference to a subject not happy and wishing to be taken to another hospital. He was given a ride back to his residence.
  • Disabled Vehicle – Matthews Park-The driver of the F-150 was pulling a trailer on E. Marable St. when the driver swerved to miss a deer causing the trailer to come off the hitch. F-150 and trailer was out of the roadway. Jays Towing was able to lift the trailer and put it back on the truck.
