MPD Reports: Fight over feeding stray cats with roommates dog food

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 12 – 18, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Juvenile Issue – Sporty Ln. In reference to the complainant having issues with her son. The situation was mediated. Referred to Juvenile Court. 
  • Burglary Report – Baker St.: Complainant is a contractor working on this house. The complainant said sometime last night 3-Dewalt nail guns, 2-Dewalt Drills, and 2-Dewalt Skill Saws were taken from the house. The complainant said there is a key that is hidden by the back door that someone possibly used to gain access to the residence as all the doors were locked. Some serial numbers placed on GCIC. Report taken.
  • Meet with Officer – Edwards St. in reference to complainant seeing her missing bicycle at a corner house of Madison Ave. / Marable St. Bicycle located at Sorrells St. / Rose Ison Terr. Bicycle returned to complainant.
  • Theft Report – Edwards St. Complainant advised that someone had stolen two bicycles off her carport. One was blue/silver and the other was purple. Both were small bikes. She could not provide make, model, or serial numbers.
  • Illegal Dumping – at MPD – In reference to complainant reporting illegal dumping behind 1st Liberty Bank.
  • Theft – E. Marable St. Complainant advised that she was missing checks. Officer spoke with complainant’s daughter who advised she had been out of checks for a while. (Complainant has dementia)
  • Threats – PD Parking Lot. The complainant stated she thinks that her Ex -boyfriend’s new girlfriend is calling her and harassing her. I advised her to block the number and provide her with a case number.
  • Animal Complaint – Walmart in reference to a dog being locked in a vehicle with the windows up. Officer patrolled the parking lot and had negative contact with the vehicle.
  • Dispute – Walton St. Complainant stated that his roommate punched him in the head because he was feeding stray cats with his roommates’ dog food. The roommate was gone on arrival, report taken.
  • Shoplifting -Walmart. 4 Females on location, Walmart did not want to press charges just requested that they be criminally trespassed from the location.
  • Shoplifting – Quality Foods. The subject was caught by management stealing a bottle of Gain laundry detergent. Management wished to press charges. She was taken into custody and transported to MPD. She was fingerprinted and released on copy of citation for shoplifting.
  • Damaged Property – Perry St. Large tree fell onto the callers’ camper. He was advised to call his insurance, report declined.
  • Prowler – Michael Cir. The complainant stated that while a juvenile on location was changing clothes the juvenile heard someone attempting to get into her window. Once complainant walked outside, she noticed the screen had been taken off the window. She did not observe anyone on location. Officer did observe the screen of the window. Complainant requested a report.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 78 WB. White BMW failing to maintain lane driven by a white female. Driving Under Influence done by Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Suspicious Person – S. Broad St. in reference to a white male in the area. Subject relocated to Monroe Motor Inn.
  • Dispute – 4th St. Complainant advised his son is bipolar and having an issue. The situation was mediated. All ok.
  • Dispute – Glen Iris Dr. Caller stated neighbors were arguing in the front yard. Officers contacted subject at another address on Glen Iris Dr. She stated she had been in a verbal argument with her husband. It was determined while under the investigation that the dispute was verbal only and no crime had been committed. Remedies were given. Report taken.
  • Stolen vehicle – GW Carver Dr. Complainant stated she left her vehicle running while she was inside using the bathroom. When she came back out her vehicle was gone.
  • Assault – Piedmont Walton. Complainant advised she had been in a physical altercation with her boyfriend. During the investigation by her own admittance Complainant put herself as the primary aggressor. She advised the altercation took place at S. Madison Ave. Officer attempted to contact the subject to confirm he was, in fact, the victim of family violence. Address on S. Madison Ave. is a mechanic shop and not a residence. Due to Officer not being able to contact the subject and confirm information about this incident charges were not taken.
  • Found Property – at the hammocks on S. Broad St. in reference to a wallet found by a couple.
  • Entering Auto – Gatewood Way. Caller stated she observed two black males entering a vehicle at Gatewood Dr. Officer checked the vehicle and it was apparent that it had been entered. Officer contacted the owner who advised at this time she did not notice anything had been taken. She stated she would call if she notices anything and declined a report at this time.
  • Welfare Check – Southview Dr. Third party caller advised the estranged husband of the tenant was en route to shoot her. OIC contacted the complainant via cell phone and she advised that she was receiving messages over social media. She stated she spoke to the possible victim who stated she was ok and wished to cancel the call
