MPD Reports: Food and water provided to resident without electricity and in dire need

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 15 – 21, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Harassing Phone Calls, Gatewood Dr., met with the complainant. He stated that a named subject keeps calling him. He wanted to do what his options are. The complainant was told the necessary steps to take.
  • Domestic Dispute, Davis St., complainant said he left $600 dollars in two boxes in the top drawer of his dresser last night before leaving. This morning $200 of the money is missing and he believes his ex-wife took it.  The ex-wife said that she did not take it and the complainant had a friend over last night that could have. Complainant requested a report to file an eviction.
  • Welfare Check, Barron Dr., subject from earlier call probation officer called requesting a welfare check after subject called their office making what they stated were suicidal threats. The subject told Officers she did not make suicidal threats, was not suicidal and refused EMS treatment or a courtesy ride to Piedmont Walton.
  • Welfare Check, Perry St., Check on a female subject. Subject advised her electricity was cut off and she had no food or water. She was provided with food and water by the officers and FISH was contacted about the electricity.
  • Domestic Dispute, Carver Place, Complainant 11 yrs. old stated that her uncle put his hands on her. The uncle stated that he didn’t touch her. Parties Separated and the situation was mediated. Report Taken.
  • Harassment, Millstone Bluff, reference to a juvenile being harassed over social media. The incident occurred at Carver Middle School and WCSO was advised to be en route to handle the report.
  • Dispute, Highland Terrace, four subjects involved in a family altercation. One subject moved out of the residence while officers were on the scene. Report taken.
  • 911 Hang Up, New Lacy St., juvenile screamed on the phone and hung up. Contact made with juveniles and parents, parental responsibility ordinance explained. All ok at this time.
  • Fight, Maple St., an unknown caller stated White male and black male fighting in the street.  Parties on the scene advised they didn’t see any fights.
  • Prowler, Tanglewood Dr., the juvenile complainant called in reference to someone knocking on her door. Negative contact with anyone in the area.
  • Suspicious Person, Pine Park St/Lacy St., an officer advised of a suspicious person driving erratically in the area.
  • Traffic Stop, Pine Park St/Lacy St., Joe Vinson arrested for Newton County SO warrants. Also cited for DOC in reference to providing a false name.
  • Dispute, Towler St., the complainant called in reference to believing her mother owed her money.  She stated she was told to move out, so she wanted her rent money back.  It was explained to her that this was a civil issue and she needed to go through the appropriate courts.
  • Traffic Stop, the driver was stopped for impeding the flow of traffic, a probable cause search resulted in finding a stolen firearm and less than one ounce of Marijuana.
  • Entering Auto, Pine Knoll, Michael Lawrence stated the alarm to his vehicle was going off.  He was unsure if someone was trying to break in. It was determined that the vehicle was unlocked, and the key fob was possibly hit to make the alarm go off.  It did not appear that anyone had messed with the vehicle.  All ok.
  • Dispute, Highland Terrace, reference to daughter verbally disputing with her mother over using the washer. Situation mediated.
  • Assault, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, reference to complainant advising he was assaulted at a friend’s house in Good Hope. TOT WCSO.
  • Warrant Served, South Madison Ave., Monroe Cotton Mill parking lot. The officer observed Ashaun Hawkins who had an active FTA warrant out of the City of Monroe. The warrant was confirmed, and Hawkins was placed under arrest and transported to MPD to be fingerprinted. Hawkins was then transported to the Walton Co. Jail and turned over to the jail staff without incident. Report taken.
  • Warrant Served, Davis St. in the area of Rivers of Mercy Church. Milton Jeff was observed walking down Davis St. Officer had knowledge that the subject was wanted by the Monroe Police Dept. Officer attempted to make contact and the subject fled on foot. After a brief chase and taser deployment, the subject was taken into custody. Jeff was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct and taken to the Walton Co. jail.
  • Mental Subject, Walker Dr., reference to a female subject wanting to speak with an Officer due to having thoughts of harming herself. The subject was turned over to EMS.
  • Warrant Served, Alcovy St., State Probation, Tabitha Manders was arrested for felony probation violation and taken to the Walton County Jail.
  • Damage to Property, Michael Cir., the complainant reported damage to her vehicle which occurred at Walmart. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Persons, West Spring St., Home Depot, reference to a black Jeep with occupants trying to sell a home entertainment system.  Negative contact.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., reference to complainant upset about a child she has custody of was brought to Piedmont while he was unconscious and because she was told he had a seizure. Child scheduled to be moved to another hospital.
  • Dispute, West Marable St., reference to two subjects disputing.  Parties mediated and separated.  One subject was advised to not return to this location.
  • Harassment complainant taken at Monroe PD lobby, made contact with the complainant who advised a random cell phone number has been sending her multiple text messages. The complainant said she has replied to the number asking them to stop contacting her. Various attempts to identify the subject were made. The subject remains unknown. The complainant was advised of remedies.
  • Traffic Stop, South Bd./East Washington, reference to Silver Chevy Impala unregistered and no insurance. Impounded by Wrecker Service. Driver cited.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, North Broad St., the complainant advised a blue hatchback was being driven by a female holding a child in the front seat. WCSO stopped the vehicle and found no violations. All ok.
  • Misc. Report, South Broad St., Monroe Police Dept lobby report, complainant advised named male subject asked her to have sex with him a while back, and this past Saturday he called her to the restroom while he was urinating. Report taken.
  • Warrant Attempt, Cook St., It was determined that Kizzy Peters had given a false name. She was talked out of the residence by her cousin and was arrested for the active probation warrant through MPD. She was also charged with giving a false name. She was released to the Walton County Jail.
