MPD Reports: Grandmother calls police on 8-year-old for allegedly stealing her money

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 3 – 10, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Meet With – W. Spring Street -ER- in reference to a female discharged from ER and needing a place to stay. Given a room by FISH at Haven Inn 
  • Prowler – King St. Subject on location causing an issue with ex-girlfriends’ family. He was Criminally Trespassed and sent on his way.
  • Suspicious Person – E. Spring St. Homeless female sleeping in her vehicle. The female was ok.
  • Warrant Served – S. Madison Ave. A subject on location with a warrant through Loganville PD. He was arrested and transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Request to meet – S. Broad St., MPD. Complainant requesting a report to get a TPO against the family of the subject.
  • Dispute – Spruce Lane. Civil dispute between two subjects. One subject was in the process of officially moving out of the residence this date. Report taken.
  • Damage to property – Meadowalk Dr. In reference to complainant reporting damage to her 2017 Hyundia Elantra. Report taken.
  • Civil issue – E. Church St. Complainant wanted a report for TPO against subject after the eviction process explained.
  • Fraud – Davis St. Reference to complainants’ checkbook going missing and multiple checks being written without her knowledge. Report taken.
  • Domestic Dispute – Green St., In reference to a woman and subject being involved in a physical altercation. The woman was determined to be the primary aggressor and was placed under arrest for family violence battery. She was transported to the Walton County Jail without incident. Report taken.
  • Other Law – W. Spring St., Wal-Mart in reference to the same female from the previous call. She was advised to go to WCSO in reference to a dispute that occurred at the Walton Inn.
  • Identity theft – Tall Oaks E. Complainant advised that his ex-girlfriend received threatening messages from an unknown individual pretending to be him. Report taken.
  • Theft Report – Sherwood Dr. – Complainant reported an iPhone 8 stolen during her son’s football practice at Monroe Area High School. Phone added to GCIC and report taken.
  • Dispute – Glenwood Dr. A married couple got into an argument. The male was intoxicated. Situation resolved. All ok
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 138/City Line in reference to a named subject being the passenger of a vehicle traveling to the area. He had an active warrant for parole violation. The vehicle was stopped by Walton County prior to entering the City.
  • Juvenile complaint – New Lacy St. Complainant advised her 8 year old granddaughter stole her money. She retrieved the money before arrival.
  • Suspicious person – Harris St., Harris Street Legion. Officer located a female loitering behind the building. Contact was made with the subject who advised that she was homeless.
  • Wanted Person – Alcovy St. – State Probation. Subject was on location with a Cobb County warrant. He was transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Fraud report – S. Broad St., MPD. The municipal court advised that a subject paid a ticket with a fraudulent card from Illinois.
  • Damage to property – Pine Park St. In reference to complainant reporting the tire had been slashed on her red 2008 Chevy Cobalt. Report taken.
  • Missing Person – S. Broad St., MPD. A complainant stated she has not had contact with a subject since Thursday. Contact was made with the subject via phone. All ok.
  • Mental Health – Plantation Dr. in reference to subject hearing voices. Subject advised he would take himself to Summit Ridge. All ok.
  • 911 Hang Up – W. Creek Cir. The complainant called in reference to her two subjects disputing last date. While on location, officers were advised by a nurse via phone that the complainant felt unsafe with her husband with a machete on location. The machete was removed from the property upon the complainant’s request.
  • Dispute – Tall Oaks Dr. Ref to two subjects arguing while walking in the area. The subject fled on foot upon officer arrival, All ok.
  • Missing Person – Arcadia Ct. – Subject reported missing. Last contact was on 10/7/19 around 1430 hours. The subject was added to GCIC and a local BOLO was given.
  • EMS Assist – Springer Lane – Subject was found lying face down on the living room floor. Officer performed CPR. Subject regained consciousness and was turned over to EMS.
  • Burglary – Knight St. Complainant stated she believed that her ex-boyfriend broke into her home. No property was taken or damaged.
  • Dispute – Two subjects disputing over female subject coming late to pick up a juvenile, parties separated.
  • Juvenile Complaint – New Lacy St. Caller advised 8-year-old neighbor would not go home. Juvenile returned home as Officer arrived on scene. All ok.
  • Damage To Property – Oakland Ridge. The complainant stated that he was parked at Walmart between 2005 and 2025 hours. On his way home his tire pressure light came on. Once home he observed what he believes is a slash mark in his tire from someone intentionally doing it. The complainant requested a report for insurance purposes only. Report taken.
